  • Thank you for caring my brother!!! My goofy brother!!!

  • well done that man ,fantastic tone ,feel ,.wish my guitar sounded that good,5 stars my friend

  • Fantastic playing and very good feel, great affiliation with the Blues, hitting all the right notes, also getting that typical "out of phase" Green sound, loved your Jam a lot, stop by my channel you might like some stuff for instance, I can't stand the Rain, Need your love so bad, Greets Vic.

  • Great playin man, loves me some Greeny.

  • I found the Peter Green tracks if anyone wants the free site contact me. alot of other great Blues tracks too.

  • Could you let me know the address? Thanks!

  • Yes please!!!!!!!!!!

  • Kick some ass on that Les.. Brother...nothing but sweet!

  • Sounds allot like Gary Moore.

  • if only i could play like that

  • No worries Dan,I just found it.

  • Hey turn a brother on to some Greeny backing tracks?

  • Hey Dan,where did you locate the backing track for this great tune-is it out there for free on the net? You smoked this one.

  • Wow,really enjoyed that-you've got the blues man in a Green way.

  • great stuff my man! got the hairs on the back of my neck standing up and shit!! nice

  • sounds good what kind of pick ups you use

    or pedals

  • I use a Klon...but not on this tune. No other pedals. Burstbucker 2 w/ A5 magnet and a stock Burstbucker 3 in the bridge.

  • You have so much feel and emotion in your playing that when I listened to this I got sucked into the wonderful sounds and melodies of the blues... just wow!

But I have one question. How does your strings, especially the thin ones stays in tune with some raw bendings? I have an Epiphone Les Paul and its thinnest strings' tune drops a little bit and it affects to playing notably. And when I play some chords after bending, they are slightly out of tune.

  • Sounds like you need a good PRO setup. Maybe some sort of graphite lube in the string slots. New strings help too. HTH

  • I took my guitar to the local music store (to the place where I bought that guitar earlier) and they polished frets because IMO they were too rugged. Then they adjusted the intonation, put some kind of grease into the nut slots and of course they changed the strings to Elixir 10-46 set. I use that string brand 'cos normal strings would become dead very soon even though I always wash my hands before playing. ;) But still after that BIG adjustment and repair that broblem didn't fix at all...

  • Awesome stuff Skydog. Are you the same Skydog from the "What are you listening to" thread? If so, cheers!

  • I'm not sure...it doesn't sound familiar. I'm dkirwan of mlpf. and bluesforstevie on the LPF.

  • You're kind of like a personal hero of mine, skydog46.

  • Cool!! Thanks bro!!

  • i really love this sound... so sweet & soft !

  • Thanks Jessy!!

  • Super! I seriously think that's the nicest thing I've heard you play. Excellent tone. Doesn't get any sweeter.

  • Thanks!!!

  • Thanks very much fellas!!

  • That was ripping. Too bad most people have no idea about the greatness of Peter Green. Just us guitarheads I'm afraid. You have captured the essence of his playing and not with just the magnet flip. Apparently you've been doing your homework. Nice job.

  • Sheer class. What's going on around the 3.29 mark? Are you just shifting to the minor pentatonic scale of the chord underneath or is there something darker and more mysterious going down? Thanks for the music.

  • The key is A, but they go to the 2 or B...so I'm just modulating to B minor pent...just for that count of 8.

  • It was at the Filmore in San Francisco, summer of '67. It was a long time ago, but I'm pretty sure the other bands were Electric Flag, with Mike Bloomfield on guitar, and Cream. Some pretty good guitar pickers there. I don't recall who the other Fleetwood Mac member were, except that there was at least one other guitar player. It was pretty much a guitar blues band. No Stevie Nicks.

  • The line up was probably -

    Drums Mick Fleetwood

    Bass John McVie

    Guitar Jeremy Spencer, Peter Green.

Danny Kirwan joined (also on guitar) in late '68

  • Thanks, Dan. Easily your best yet!

  • Wow!! Thanks man!!

  • You have one ba-ad sounding setup. My next purchase is an amp like yours. Nice playing, man. Greenie is one of my favorites I saw him with Fleetwood Mac in 1967.

  • Cool!! Where?

  • Tasty ! !

  • real nice man! where did you get the backing track?

  • dude this is the best ive ever seen you playing and i have watched a good few of your vids. great pitch control on those bends man.

  • Thanks. Yeah, I've been paying attention to technique lately. Thanks for listening!!

  • WOW! That's excellent, and then some!

I heard Bo Diddly passed away today?

  • Yeah, its a damn shame..its becoming that time for many 2nd generation bluesmen. Bo Diddly was the shit!!

  • I agree, thank God there's people like you keeping it alive and well, and sharing it with others. Thanks for what you do! :)

  • Did you meet Stevie Ray Vaughan. Is that a signed picture to ypu in your profile?

  • Its not a signed pic. But it is to me...on one of my sister's business cards!

  • Yes, I met him.

  • hey

ive watched a lot of your videos and i love your playing

but what really gets me is your tone!

it could go on for days

i realize that you are playing through an original 65 dlx reverb but i was wondering if you have made any mods or changes that would be applicable to my ri and get me closer to that tone?

thank you very much and keep up the great playing

  • NOS tubes and a good speaker go a long way towards this tone. The JBL isn't for everyone. That's for sure. It can be very unforgivable if your technique isn't there.

  • Very nice Dan! But where's the Marshall JMP

  • At the rehearsal space!!

  • That's a really nice tone you've got there man.

    Best Wishes, Eggy.

  • Thanks!!

  • Great playing! Great tone. I just did 'Peter Green mod' to my curent guitar, I've done it to 3 guitars previously. This time came out really good. You seem to have a good grasp of Greenie's phrasing! I saw Greenie and the Mac in '68 in SF. Blew me sidewayz! I went back in '69 for more! Live he was just indescribable.

  • Wow...to see Green in his heyday must have been incredible. Thanks for your nice words!

  • Damn that was some beautiful tone and playing.

  • Thank you kindly!!

  • It was a life-changer!I went to Fillmore with a friend that night; didn';t really want to. I heard Greenie on "Hard Road." I knew who he was, but dismissed him as a Clapton clone. Only cared about BB then. Fleetwood Mac? Guess I was expecting Greenie;'s version of Cream! Man was I wrong. This 21 year-old guy came out with his, somehow, completely chromed '59 Les Paul, body and all, and laid down a BB -type slow blues ("Merry Go 'Round). My ears were steamin.' Big changes in my band after that!

  • Its a beautiful song! Thank you very much!

  • Damn

  • My God what tone!!!!! I am amazed every time I hear you. You must feel every note to your toes! Great job once again!! thank you!

    -dave

  • Dan, thanks for ALWAYS being here to inspire and to help keep my feet on "The Path" brother! Kinda like the mailman really..thru rain & sleet . Thank you very much, ty ty. Your last 2 seem a ..step above..you goin' thru some changes?

  • Man! I wanna do that magnet flip in my Gibson SG. That out of phase tone is amazing. Peter Green came the closest to real blues out of any white man I've ever heard.

  • And I thought the last video was tops...Wow!

Great feel and vibe going on with this one. Whenever I need a little pep in my playing, I look your videos up. Great stuff Dan!

  • Thanks T...I really dig your playing too!!

  • Your vibrato is exceptional in this video!

    Keep 'em coming

  • I think this is your best video ever.

  • Thanks very much!!

  • that was great man!
