  • Thanks Liveyvrmusic! This is amazing - and a testament the the importance of owning a video camera and knowing when to bring it with you.

  • I meant incredible.Stupid phone.

  • Incrrdibl

  • awesome!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome video! And I just hate it when people call this a Blondie song. The Nerves never got the audience and appreciation that they deserved.

  • Paul Collins R U L E S !!!!! period, end of sentence..thats all folks..ok ok..one more thing ..He is the embodiment of rock and roll..it never dies..it may age, go bald, gain a little here and there..get wrinkly, wear velcro tennies, shop at Sams Club..clip coupons, listen to Rush Limbaugh, cough up flem, send money to Revival Hour Radio....but it never dies!..Rock on PAUL! Lov ya DUDE!

  • Great, great, great song.

  • J'adore!

  • that was unreal!!!

  • gran video, gran cancion grandes personas y octavio en medio..mr nobody

  • i luv these guys

  • wow I always thought it was a blondie song.

This is a cool edgy song.

    Thanks to the internet!!

  • Blondie did a lot of covers

  • ahi esta Octavio.Grande, bien por el

  • The Two most very brilliant 45's released in 1976 were The Sex Pistols, Anarchy, and The Nerves, Hanging On The Telephone. I bought it first time round. It was on import. I heard the opening bars and shouted across the counter, "How much? I won't need a bag." We hopped on the tube. It was on our turntable in 30 mins. Blondie did a great cover, but The Nerves just edge it.

  • I'm friggin buzzing. Genuine, grade AAA Rock and Roll can happen anywhere when the spirit is right! Thanks!

  • and my friend Gines on drums!!! oh yeah!!,fantastic bands the nerves and Paul collins!!

  • look for the blondie version!

  • i'm flashing back to the old Starwood daze!!

  • peter case paul collins! wow ! never thought i'd see this. One of the best bands ever. punks without the saftey pins.

  • Definetely this song is for Debbie Harry, my blonde goddess!!!

  • Thank you for writing this great song you old geezers.

  • great

  • That was cool. I have seen Peter Case perform in music store, coffee houses and now a record store.

2/3 of the Nerves is better than no Nevrves at all.

Wish I could have been there.

  • Cool.

  • paul and his buddies deserve long, happy, lucrative and successful lives. I hope they are living them and I hope they are 1/10th as happy as they've made their fans. Fuck a bunch of Grammys, Oscars, Pulitzers and Hiltons - going to sleep each night knowing that you know how to rock and roll should equal a Presidential Citation.

  • That is a very nice thing to say, thank you!

  • All the versions are pretty good. Conclusion: it is tough to screw up a good song.

  • Actually it's quite easy :)

  • Agree, I think a lot of covers miss the clue of this song. The song is great anyway.

  • It's a good thing I wasn't there. I probably would have destroyed that store in a fit of unimaginable ecstasy. That must've been the trill of a lifetime for those people.

  • It certainly was a thrill! I still break into a huge grin everytime I look back at this video. It was my first time ever seeing Paul Collins perform, and this song happens to be an all-time favourite for me. I just saw on the SXSW 2008 band listings that he's showcasing again this year. I hope he's planning on lots of instores / non-SXSW appearances! I'll be there for sure.

  • Who is singing?

  • Paul Collins is the one without the hat. Peter Case has the hat on.

  • That song is legendary, thanks to The Nerves for writing and Blondie for making it famous.

  • STUNNING! Thanks a million for posting this. Legendary.

  • simply fuckin' AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • magnusforce82

Disagree! Blondies' version stays true to the original. I can see why Debbie fell in love with it in the first place. So nice to finally hear the original though!

  • One, if not the greatest power pop songs ever written. Blows the Blondie version out of the water.

  • Oleeeee, Puretas al poder...

    Genial

  • does anyone know who did the version in that Cingular At&t commercial?

  • CatPower

  • oh snaps, I thought blondie did the original version. great upload

  • Brilliant!!! Anybody who knows where I can get a Nerves t-shirt? I´m desperate!

  • That was amazing. Thanks do much for posting it.

  • pesao soy: ese gineeeees!

  • fucking good xD

  • far f-ing out....had no idea they wrote this....

  • Dammm wish been there for this. I love this song. The song is so perfect and portrays so much desporation which is vital for a great rock and roll song. -thanks

  • Juancho! qué fuerte! que coño acías en Texas! eres mi puto héroe!

  • Fantastic ! Thanks !

  • Amazing, thank you so much. I remember picking this

record at the Record Exchange in London, and how we

got blown away the first time we listen to it.
