  • Hey, it's the vaginal probe guy!

  • If women want to keep their rights they had better vote this ass out of office. He's a "bible bashing Jesus freak" who will drag the US back into a dark age.

  • Keep in mind that this speech is coming from a redneck who thought that concealed weapons and alcohol go well together.

  • This guy is contradicting himself. "freezing government spending is only a small step..." yet he doesn't give a suggestion on how to reduce our debt, other than decrease the government's role, which is what got us into our period of stagflation. He then gives suggestions that will increase government spending, and regulating employment will create employment.

  • Republicans: continuing the tradition of appealing to the uneducated masses and refusing to look at the bigger picture.

  • I love how he's calling for bi-partisanship when the republicans are the stubborn party.

  • type "Obamination State of the Union" in youtube search. LOL.

  • He didn't have much to say that added any value. Just some beginner style grandstanding

  • I'm sorry Bob, but I'm not hearing anything new from you or your quaint little solutions page. Just more of the same misleading statements Bush made while the country suffered more by the day. At least Obama has enough respect for his listeners to speak as if he is talking to adults. Where is ol Bush nowadays anyway? Why don't you like to bring up his name when you push the same policies he did?

  • Rephrasing the Republican response:

    .

    .

    .

    .

    .

    .

    .

  • You can't lower energy prices if Republicans are run by the oil companies.Get real McDonald. I see the Republicans are back to using kill in there rhetoric.

  • lower energy prices?? we need to raise energy prices to encourage efficiency! oh mcdonnell.

  • the first step of cutting spending is to fire all these politicians

  • the first step of cutting spending is to fire all these politicans

  • He probably wants to decrease government like Ronald Reagan lol

  • Rofl exactly dumbass, the deficit is so high because your party gives the entire nation a tax break every chance you can

Spending with no taxes = Deficit, it's half your fault dumbshit

Also, we're 36th in the world on healthcare, not 1st. Stop with your uninformed bullshit

  • @pbvids Are you kidding me? You've got to be kidding me! Did you just tell the Republicans to read the constitution? Firstly, I am not too sure about your knowledge of the U.S. government and recent politicking. But, if any party should be told to read the U.S. Constitution it should be the Democrats. And by the way, they did - if you recall the Congressional reading of the document. You told the GOP to read the Constitution; to be honest the GOP is much more conservative then the.........

  • @GlutoriousMaximus pretty sure a war against the people of the country is against the constitution. pretty sure the patriot act is against the constitution. Honestly, both parties suck, but if you think conservatives value the constitution, you're a goofball.

  • @King24223 Not exactly what I was saying. I said in comparison, the conservative ideology abides more strictly by the constitution. The Patriot Act is in fact constitutional due to the Take Care Clause, and in that the government is charged with the protection of the American people. They don't simply just listen in to everyone - there are an overwhelming amount of regulations involved. There is no war against the American people - it's the ignorance of the people that cripples the gov't.

  • @GlutoriousMaximus hmmmm that's weird I could've sworn the constitution said the the people of the United States of America(yes I know it was the preamble)

  • @mast3rbird What you just said is actually completely irrelevant to my argument. Spewing useless information doesn't pass for making a point. Maybe you want to try again?

  • All you narrow-minded Republican haters are blinded by your own emotion. Why don't you go curl up in a corner and read the constitution as you cry?

  • I must admit Mr. McDonnell, this is a great speech, but anyone can present a great speech. You say you are saying what the Republican party has intended, but you and that GOP of yours is stupidly wrong. You want to tax the middle class and let states have the authority of things like immigration. If a Republican convenes with Congress next year, then may God have mercy on our souls.

  • wow what powerful stereotypes surround him. The strong black woman, the middle aged asian, the middle aged white woman and the bulky military man.

  • @diddlingdoom I know right.

  • So you were really razzle dazzled by the teleprompted sophomoric rhetoric? You're a good student...compliant, aggreeable and easy to lead. We (some) Americans believe the Constitution is the source of our country's greatness. Lately it's been sidestepped and slandered as too restrictive for the liberals.

You may agree with them. I'll side with Thomas Jefferson. You can side with Pelosi and Katie Couric.

  • I believe our current president could sell the whole country to Hamas for a dollar without the slightest hint of apprehension from the BBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC or PBS. If you are relying on any of these for your political perspective, you may as well vacation in North Korea to learn what a communist utopia looks like. They are in the tank. Far too late to regain credibility. Epitaph: "They failed to inform their audience so it left."

  • I thought the most uneducated countries in the world are from africa and some part of asia but after following american politics for few years now, i think america is the worst of all countrys. How can you guys sit there and let this republicans bully you around. From what is going on is just plain simple that what the republicans are thinking about is just the party not the American people.

REPUBLICANS DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU, THEY CARE ABOUT THE RICH AND THEIR PARTY. GET THAT AMERICANS.

  • @dziffybabe your a failue

  • i'm pretty certain that neither party really cares about the usa - its more about picking the guy or party who won't fuck the country over more, us americans we realize that all government winds up being corrupt sometimes even evil because evil people never stop trying to seek powerful positions, the smart Americans try to vote to keep the government small, this is basically the conservative philosophy in america. The democrats and liberals aren't sure what money is.

  • So you're saying that buying consumable forms of energy from another country defines you as anti-American?

  • @Oo0l0oO The GOP doesn't really care about the USA? Why do you say that?

  • @Oo0l0oO 100 percent right

  • He is repeating Obama like a parrot! This guy's health care reform proposal is a nonsense. Government must stop private insurance bloodsuckers to increase health payments and refuse life saving services. Financial bubble proved that government must regulate free market in some extent otherwise everyone will become the victim of financial speculations.

  • This is the man that will be a future President of the United States.......

  • Good news. Just heard that John McCain is not running and has endorsed J.D. Hayworth

  • pardon my indecency in politics but who or what is the GOP and what does it stand for?

  • Grand Old Party - Republicans.

  • "Taking money from larger banks" "stolen"

Stolen when taken from banks, but not when taken from the middle class, huh.

The govt used our tax dollars to bail out banks when they were on the brink of collapse.

And to imply that it is criminal thievery to use tax revenue to invest in programs to help poor people is one of the absolute most ridiculous and dumbest comments I've read to date. It is a moral duty to help our citizens. And if you want a strong country you take care of its people.

  • "Taking money from larger banks and giving it to the poor, stolen from, tax-payers doesn't seem like capitalism"

HAHAHA! Raising or cutting taxes has nothing to do with socialism. The government needs tax revenue to invest in public services. Every democratic country under the guise of a captalist system does the same thing. It's when the "government owns and controls all the wealth".

BTW, the banks were bailed out with our tax money. Is that socialism?

  • "his mentors, like Bill Ayers"

That's a serious lie. I looked into this. Bill Ayers was NEVER Obama's mentor. They worked together for a philanthropic group at one point. There's no evidence they had a relationship when he was a U.S. senator. Ayers came from a very volatile background. Thats the ONLY reason right-wingers keep bringing up his connection to Ayers.

U seem like a nice guy. I'm really sorry u buy into all this nonsense.

  • Okay, I'll take back the term "mentor". But the facts are that they have a long history and Ayers, by his own admission, holds the same political views as he did in the past. The two, along with Ayers' father, chairman of "The Woods Fund", seem to have crossed paths quite often in Obama's rapid rise to power and wealth.

  • What's wrong with being a marxist? Capitalism is unsustainable, an infinite idea on a finite planet. The time is now to start thinking of alternatives.

  • Surely, I don't agree with you, but at least you are honest.

  • Just read this on Politico. According to a new poll.

"a large slice of the GOP believes President Barack Obama is a socialist who was not born in this country, should be impeached, wants the terrorists to win"

    I guess ignorance is bliss.

Nothing against McDonnell, Cantor, Ron Paul, LIndsey Graham, and other respectable GOP leaders because I dont think it reflects how they feel towards Obama, just some of their credulous, self-deceiving supporters who believe what they wish was true.

  • I don't thing there is a large group who dwell on Obama being a foreigner, but I know there are some. I think they are missing more relevant issues that should be focused on. He's president already. His birth place is moot. I believe he is a socialist or Marxist. It makes sense, looking at his policies and discerning his mentors, like Bill Ayers and the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, etc.

  • He is not Marxist or a Socialist as Glenn Beck likes to propagate. That's a lie. They label him a socialist not to clarify who he is,but to attach a social stigma as a political propaganda strategy. They know the word has a negative connotation and scares Americans. Who is it that refers to him as a marxist? Only right wing extremists, people who don't like him call him that.

  • Socialized medicine is not socialism? I keep hearing this, "It is, but it isn't" stuff, or "sure you see it, but it's really not there". I do, however, know how the Dems use scare tactics to demonize Republicans and gain votes. I've heard them many times: they are going to kill old folks by taking SS away; they are war mongers; they protect the rich; they are going to starve the children, they want to destroy the environment. Ad infinitum. I've heard these things myself from the left.

  • @spiralmetal: I'm not sure how redistributing wealth is not Marxist or Socialist. Perhaps we've been reading two different histories and listening to two different presidents, but it seems to line up. Taking money from larger banks and giving it to the poor, stolen from, tax-payers doesn't seem like capitalism to me. Who is it that does this? Only left wing extremists, people who don't like success do these kinds of things.

  • @atomsk05

You know as well as me they call him that because of the social stigma attached to the word. Marxist is especially a misleading word. They know that, but use it anyway to score political points.

  • personally i believe that if this was for some other occasion, then it would have been fine, but I couldn't stand how this was suppose to be a response. Mostly reiterating a bit of President Obama's speech is not responding.

  • can i just say that the GOP can never retaliate....its some b.s. to see them even try...maybe if they explain ideas and solutions instead of a broader concept but this is a joke and i voted for McDonell

  • FAIL

  • I hate when politicians speak in circle. I mean duh, everyone knows about the philosophy and that demo and repub should work together to create jobs and such but no where did he mention about specific plans or steps to do it.

He basically is ranting about stuff that is so obvious by using big words to make it sound cool.

The only thing I catch from this is that: a student's academic's achievement is determined by her hard work not her zip code. That's it. Well, okay. How are you gonna do that?

  • @vananhdo

ACtually, conservatives believe it is NOT the responsibility of government to create jobs--the responsibility of the government is to butt out. Two diametrically opposed views on the role of government--anything in between is just politics. You have to embrace socialism--or capitalism--you can't 'work together' to have it both ways.

  • this is silly, what is he really saying? If you cut past all the flack, all he says is government should involve itself less with the economy. Now, let's be serious, if they did then that wouldn't exactly be popular either, they'd just let business run itself further into s***. Why weren't the republicans complaining about government involvement when it cut bank director bonuses? It just seems to me that republicans just want a political deadlock so that they can win the next election..its silly

  • The biggest load of crap...this is like make-believe I'm president day for this guy. Complete with a creepy sycophantic choir of strategically placed diversity. Uggh.

How bout some actual solutions to the problems we're collectively facing instead of platitudes about small government and less spending?

  • tariffs on foreign goods to protect our industries and secure a home market so innovation can work.

  • BTW, I voted for Bush the first time!

  • Wrong on all counts. You must get your info from FOX! Not good for you!

  • pretty good

  • Good for you!

  • On the surface, the Parasite expects the doctor to heal them for free, the farmer to feed them out of charity. How little they differ from the pervert who prowls the streets, looking for a victim he can ravish for his grotesque amusement.

  • pstipmoable@ are you crazy or just pain dense?

  • The speech was a good response.

I was completely disappointed by Obama's nagging State of the Union. He blamed others, demeaned the Supreme Court and Congress, lied about republicans, his successes and his flawed policies.

I thought Obama would have learned a lesson from his campaign failures in NJ, Virginia, and MA. But, his ego and ideological mindset won't allow him to do what is right for America.

  • 6:50

"a child's educational opportunity should be determined by his intellect and work ethic, not by his zip code"

then they cut to the black guy.

  • I think you're knit picking. That's just part of the show. Both parties do that all the time.

  • arent there some democrats in the virginia house who like government?

  • 1:00

is he married to that? wtf

  • Americans have to start judging these crooks by what they do and not what they say!

  • I agree completely!

  • I know exactly where the right wing stands-they live to benefit the wealthy at the expense of the middle class! This is the sole reason they exist!

  • That's a tired inaccurate talking point that says nothing. Just how are the right wing doing this. And how do you explain a right-winger like me. I'm just a guy who lives in a tent. who believes in and wants to uphold the laws and rights in the United States Constitution.

  • Maybe you being a right winger is the reason you're living in a tent. Nothing personal but most right wingers aren't very bright.

  • most left wingers are emotional instead of rational, dependent rather than self-sufficient and unreasoned rather than thought through.

  • One moderate, on the other hand, thinks it's stupid to stereotype. ;)

  • No, the reason I live in a tent is that it is my choice. I'm not the smartest person in the world, but I'm not stupid either. I like to think I am teachable. If you can convince me any of my beliefs are wrong, I will change my thinking in that area. In any case, I would rather be wise than smart, any day.

  • I like your spirit. How many times do you suppose the last administration shit on the constitution? Those bastards did it every chance they could!

  • What in the heck are you talking about? I really am trying to make sense of your rant, in the spirit of cooperation, but I'm afraid we have to go to a commercial break...thanks for calling.

  • Just to elaborate on how Bush broke the constitution. Bill Clinton was impeached for lying to the American people about what he did in his personal life. Bush lied about intel which lead us into an unnecessary war. Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction, or links to al qaeda like he promised. His lies killed thousands of innocent people on both sides. What ever happened to Osama? Bush had 7 years to capture the guy who organized 9/11 and failed.

  • @allensaysthis: Breaking the Constitution means that one's actions are unconstitutional. You may disagree with what Bush did, and that's the great thing about this country: you're allowed to disagree. But don't confuse disagreement with unconstitutionality. Why don't you go look up a nice case from the Supreme Court that determined these actions as unconsitutional, you know, the actual body of government that determines unconstitutionality? Then you can keep reciting the same talking points.

  • @atomsk05: Bill Clinton was put on trial and impeached due to perjury. He was then later acquitted. George Bush lied to congress that the attack on 9/11 were from Iraq even though we knew at the time where it was really from. Last time I checked, lying to congress is considered a crime. Committing a crime in office is warrent for impeachment. Last time I checked Republicans held majority in the supreme court. If you want the actually body it's TITLE 18 > PART I > CHAPTER 47 > § 1001

  • check out the fake applause around 3:14

this is like the local car commercial of political speeches

  • Reminds me of the last administration!

  • You must be a nazi right wing nut obstructionist! Take your hate elsewhere!

  • Ya know what - FUCK the right wing and FUCK the left wing. You're both Nazis.

Statist or Libertarian, how bout that.

  • Who you are speaks so loudly, I can't hear what you are saying.

  • Why is he quoting Thomas Jefferson about fiscal discipline and work? Does he realize Jefferson, the "farmer" never actually worked on his farm a single day in his life, and was in debt thousands to bankers due to his overspending. Does he realize that his fight against a strong federal government was simply an attempt to prevent him from have to pay back the bankers?

  • Didn't we already vote on this platform? Isn't McDonnell just giving McCain's platform for the Presidential election in 2008? Didn't we already discover that drilling every single oil well in America would still leave us billions of gallons short of our oil consumption, and just make us run out of our own reserves even sooner?

Why is the response being done in front of an audience? Is this in response to the Jindall fiasco?

  • The oil market is a world market. Our oil would be added to that, but it would force the oil producing nations into competition. it would also keep us from being pawns of the Middle East, because our whole country depends on oil to run, not just for cars, but power, and industry need it. We cannot afford to be without it or have it's supply interrupted.

  • A bill to say all new spending must be deficit neutral was passed on a party line vote in the senate. The republican's are the irresponsible ones when it comes to the deficit.

  • Gravy2468 wrote:

"The republican's are the irresponsible ones when it comes to the deficit. "

    -

Really? Who just raise the Federal debt ceiling by another TWO TRILLION?

  • Obama, so that he could save jobs. If he did nothing it would have been more. Sometimes spending money is necessary. Plus look at our deficit over time, especially since 1980. Obama is trying to bring back the policies Clinton had which gave us a surplus. The same policies that Bush got rid of. In short, Democrats believe in a bottom up approach, and Republicans have their trickle down approach.

  • lol! Good one. Please explain this bottom up approach. I got a good deal on a used car not long ago. I couldn't afford a new car, but was able to get a nice one because someone with a little more money than me bought it first. When that person eventually got a new car, they sold this one for a much reduced price, and I could afford it. I will probably sell it one day to someone with less money than me. Trickle down economics 101. Government can't create jobs. People with capital do. Let them.

  • Using a car reference is a terrible comparison. A car is one of the worst investments you can make, and something you are likely to give away one day. It doesn't work with money. I have a huge corporation. I make tons of money but want to increase profit margins by hiring the least amount of people as possible so I can increase profit margins. If I get a tax break I'll invest it in my own company to make more money. All the money stays with one person and there is little cash flow.

  • Ok now lets do bottom up. Increase wages or giving tax breaks to people who live pay check to pay check. They are forced to spend their money creating revenue and cash flow. Sure they could save that money but they have to pay off bills. The more they spend more chances small businesses will get businesses and survive. So my question to you. Would you give 1 billion dollars to 5 people who will trickle it down or to 1 million. Which do you think generates more cash flow?

  • It's not a lie. The Democrats needed 60 votes for the health care bill. They couldn't count on Republicans for any of those votes. So it was hampering their efforts to get the bill passed. They were even stalling a vote for the bill on purpose.

  • OBama is hope! Nazi right wing nut obstructionists are doom!

  • @unclelight

    I'm for Obama, too.

  • how are "right wing nuts" nazis when left wing socialists use tax payer dollars to tend to the wounds of people who mostly target ISRAEL the country of the jews and their allies which would be america, riddle me that whobama

  • unclelight, let's not forget that the Nazi's where socialist, akin to today's Democratic party. Furthermore, Obama is doing similar things that they did, like usurping private business: auto companies, banks. Also, Hitler disarmed the public, so they had no defense against his tyranny. And Hitler was elected and made sweeping reforms which gave him total power.

  • Wrong on all counts bud. You must get your info from FOX! Not good for you!

  • I rarely watch Fox or any other TV. I prefer to look for the truth myself rather than rely on the Broadcast Industrial Complex. Meaning any tv "news" stations.

Why not give arguments rather than sling mud?

  • I'm sorry, but I didn't think that socialism and totalitarianism were synonymous. In fact, I thought they were on opposite ends of the political spectrum. The nazi party was not a socialist party, despite its name, and neither is the democratic party, so your comparison is completely unjustified.

  • I would say that socialism and totalitarianism pretty much sum up Communism, and we know they were socialists. But I will say that even though the Nazi's grew out of the German Workers Party, they were first and foremost, Nationalists. Still, the first things they did in power was to usurp private property and guns, the population had no defense. Sound like a familiar ideology. ie banks, auto companies, and the left gun lobby?

  • i hate people like you.

  • Well, God bless you anyway, TripleDot. Perhaps one day one of us will change, and though you come in contempt, you may leave in peace.

  • No, actually, you're quite wrong. The mistake that most people make is associating Socialism with Communism while the two actually are very different political systems. A communist government would eliminate all classes and redistribute property equally among all people. However, there haven't been any Coommunist governments; Russia merely pretended to abolish classes and redistribute property while the government actually seized complete control.

  • thank you! finally someone who knows their facts before spewing bullshit out. i cannot stand these morons that scream "communist!"

  • A socialist government, on the other hand, still believes in private property but does not believe it should be concentrated among the upper classes and strives to give benefits to the working class to protect them from this owning class. While Obama is not a socialist, his ideas are similar to those of socialist parties. Hitler was strictly opposed to these ideas of the working class having any power and the comparison of Obama who killed over 10 million people is ridiculous.

  • It all comes down to a re-distribution of wealth. Take wealth (private property) from those that have it and give it to those who have not as much. Eventually, you have to ask yourself an honest question; do you believe in liberty or not. If not, you are in the wrong country.

  • So basically you are admitting that your comparison was completely wrong because they were strictly against the redistribution of wealth.

  • Making comparison's to Nazi's is a very typical strategy to scare people. Their are problems with all types of governments. What's important is who is ruling and how greedy they are. I haven't heard Obama make any statements about invading other countries of land or resources. I've read biographies on Hitler. He was very immature quite the interesting character. The only problem with him was that he was put into a position of power. Obama is quite mature from what I've read.

  • Sounds so robot like, Tactic speeches are so 80's

  • Arginento, you should listen to some speeches from the 30's to 50;s. They are substantive, interesting, and many pertain to issues of today. It's true; "the more things change, the more they stay the same".

  • we just saw 150,000 people die in just under 2 minutes. In a Church you at least have the oppertunity to freely give or keep your money. Obammy just came and took your money out of your pocket for you and gave for you without your consent. (that is unconstutional) Im not saying dont give to people who need our help. Its just a big difference to just take. The government has it made. Thats why the polititions stay in office.

  • hemi head you are not running on all cylinders.where do taxes come from the working class. The working class is not any government job. Federal, state, county, city etc. the most wealthy are federal polititions who make laws for the wealthy and then get hugh political support from the very people they fund. (acorn) is a good example.

  • i hate the GOP but i must say that this guy brings more to the table than that clown bobby jindahl

  • left ..... right they're both wrong. all these blockheads running the country just don't get it. people that are critical of obama... or any president for that matter is a blockhead.

  • Perhaps we should be locked up in the Gulag, eh?

  • I hear a lot of "GOP trying to appease the left" or "the Dems trying to appease the right" "Obama trying to appease the GOP". No, it's not appeasing. It's getting along so they can work together. It's essential that they make it clear they want to work together so they can. Because if they don't, it will be 2009 all over again. Little will get done. Any time the two parties actually try to work together and compromise it seems to be mistaken for ass kissing.

  • I could hardly believe my ears when I heard this man advocate against more regulation. Has he, like all the Republicans in Congress been blind while were being raped by UNregualted financial giants, UNregulated health insurance corporations, UNregulated corrupt politicians?

Mark my words...this unknown eloquent, handsome, diplomatic sounding governor is their next nominee for president...he is good at sounding wholesome, but he is masking the true face of the GOP... big business.

  • They always use that line "government should be limited...we are doing too much...", yet they spent 8 years taxing and spending at record levels and putting us in massive trillion dollar debt.

Why didn't Boehner give the address? Or Mitch McConnell? Because they want to soften their extremist image.

  • Obama is looking at LONG TERM health of the nation, not at temporary fixes to the inherited problems of 8 years of failed policy and debt.

This man said nothing substantial. He is just presenting the image of Republicans who are "working hard" to fix our problems, when all they have done is block Obama's EVERY effort to fix this nation. It's their only hope...ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK...then act like compassionate and hard working public servants.

Republican ideas have been proven poisonous.

  • Comment removed

  • Such crafted, false language. Even their convenient placement of an African American woman and Asian man behind him are desperate attempts to soften the Republican's image as the old boy network.

We all know the Republicans care about one thing only...letting business do what they want, even if that means sacrificing our liberties, safety and financial well being.

  • I thought McDonnell's speech seemed to summarize what the Republicans are about pretty well. Just the part about "cooperation" I found somewhat hypocritical. Or maybe I misunderstood. Maybe he meant from 2010 he wants to see more bipartisanship between them and the democrats.

I can see him running for president in 2012. Very strong. GOP has themselves a winner here.

  • You can whine all you want that Obama is a liar or whatever as if a right-wing politician has never said a lie or gone back on a promise in his life, but he far exceeds our last president.

I want someone in there who lobbies on the behalf of low-income or struggling Americans. Someone who stands up for them the way Ted Kennedy did. In that respect, Obama has the goods. The GOP and libertarians need more work in that area.

  • spiralmetal, I've lived in a tent for nearly five years. Stop trying to help me! I prefer freedom over the government constantly meddling in my life. I have never been refused admittance to an emergency room when needed. I don't need anyone to steal from someone else to support me.

  • "Republicans r offering a 32 page Health Bill that is transparent"

Are u referring to Boehner's plan?

His only covered '3 million' people, that doesn't even come close to the 30 million that the Democrats's plan would have insured. They need to think a little more about the needs of the country's people. If we can blow a trillion dollars in Iraq to "liberate" a bunch of foreigners, then our government can spend money to help its own citizens afford health care.

  • Remember, it was the spending on the Iraq War that wiped out our surplus in the first place. Bush, virtually every Republican, and some Democrats supported it.

We should have never invaded Iraq. That was so unjustified and unnecessary. Not only that, sadly I have to admit that it was criminal.

  • "Don't Blame Bush Blame the Congress"

That's interesting because I just read that at the end of last year, for the 2nd straight quarter, the economy grew at possibly its fastest pace in four years under a 'Democratic' president and a 'Democratic' controlled congress.

This is the fastest growth in 'four years'. That means things were slowing just as the Democrats came in to congress.

  • This man is a great American - The lies, distrust, and utter filth that spew fourth from the BS that is Obama are purely shameful and willfull. We need to get back to what our founding fathers pushed for this country to be. We need a man like this in office. Government doesn't create wealth, it doesn't create jobs in the private sector. Government limits opportunity, innovation and free markets.

  • government does not [automatically] limit Opportunity, Innovation, and Free Markets.

if the particular government [in power] passes laws (and/or lets laws pass) that DO do such things (ie. limiting opportunity, innovation, and free markets), then yes.

    otherwise, no.

use your head besides a head-rack!

  • I like how immediately after the President asks for the "Republican vs. Democrat" fighting to stop, the GOP releases this.

I'm sorry, but this speech is garbage. It ignores everything Obama brought up and repeats the same rhetoric we've been hearing for years. It's childish. Stop it.

  • Yes, the opposing camp does have the right of a rebuttal in our country. By "Stop fighting", I assume you mean agree with your side.

  • "By "Stop fighting", I assume you mean agree with your side."

Of course not. I just want to see the two sides working together so we can get something done. It will require the 3 Cs, communication, cooperation, and compromise on both sides

Lindsey Graham and Cantor have already expressed their desire to work with Obama after his speech, a good sign.

  • Listening to the mean spirited lefty's here, who are mostly Democratic constituents, can't you see that you can't reason with these people. It's their way or the highway. Truth be damned and the ends justify the means.

  • Well, if aaeoni is right, then I hope the Democrats will work more with the GOP this year and listen to them. The Democrats shouldn't be trying to control everything if that's what they were really doing. I'm going to try and keep a closer eye on what's going on.

  • exactly.

  • the GOP's never going to get anywhere.

and i'm fed up and tired after how, after each and every speech Obama does, the GOP takes ALL of Obama's ideas, "spray-paints" them in their (ie. the GOP's) own words, and acts as if it was the GOP [who came up with the ideas and suggestions] and not Obama [and/or whatever Democrat and/or Republican came up with them.]

  • Lies...all of it i can not finish watching this sack of sh&t speak. Virginians wtf were you thinking when you put this clown in office?

    Shame on you!!!

  • It would have been a good speech, if every thing he said wasn't contradicting the truth, and if it didn't seem like it was being read the whole time.

  • This dude looks like the type that would hope a plane to Argentina.

  • I feel that he's not speaking from his heart, as President OBAMA did. Hmmm...

  • I can't believe that he talks about stopping the partisan politics while his party has been engaged in CONSTANT filibustering. MORE LIES!!! He just gets in front of the camera and says what people want to hear. I find the multiracial backdrop is actually hilarious! I know many Americans don't care what the rest of the world thinks about them, but NOT dropping massive amounts of ordinance from 20 000ft over other countries MAY result in less hatred for the US and less terrorist attacks.

  • What filibustering? I'm not aware of anything yet.

There is nothing you can do to get along with these enemies of ours, the will hate you no matter what you do. You sound like a young fellow. Think about this: You can not have peace wtihout strength. This Rodney King, "Can't we just all get along" is fantasy. Always has been throughout history and will always be. That's just the way it is, pal.

  • How do they get away with the BOLD FACED lies??? The World Health Organization has the USA ranked 38th in Health Care. The greedy bastards that are the richest 1% (which you likely have zero chance of becoming) have been controlling the US political process for years. It is not just the Republicans, BOTH parties have been influenced by corporate interests. Average Americans need to stand up and demand REAL change NOW!!!!!

  • This guy has class! Still, the applause seems forced at times. Love what he has to say!

  • i love the 4 shades of color that back drop the governor and give the illusion of what the republican party resembles.

  • which is why people FLOCK to cuba and canada for health care.

you people really don't get it. do you know how difficult it is to see a doctor in either of those countries unless you pay for private care?

the US has the best system but that doesn't mean its flawless. yes, it needs to be more affordable but that doesn't mean it needs to be run by the government. please take a look at how our military is taken care of before you cry for government run care.

  • He said stated some decent points to think about. But why does he keep quoting famous people, scripture, and simply restating and agreeing with what Obama already spent time elaborating about in an hour? Cut your speech short so your sons, and everyone else can go back to watch sports center.

  • Watch this wise words. I Totally agree with them. Search "Shocking and Dismaying GOP Response to "State of Union" from Governor Mcdonnell" here in Youtube

  • the audience is event more repectable than nancy pelosi

  • THIS is what the United States needs... not the whiny "it's not my fault" BS Obama gave (he blamed Bush, Banks and everyone else he could think of)
