HP Pavilion dv2000 display problem

I suggest buying a new laptop. HP won't help you on a decent way. They'll make you pay way to much for it. At least they did it to me and 4 friends who had a other display problem. They even tried to make me pay 20 dollar before they even would help me how to send my laptop to them. 20 bucks for just the way you should ship it! I'll NEVER buy anything from this crap company again and I suggest you don't do that either. But since this is over a year old. How did it end up for you?

Haha my friend has this computer! He watches lots of porn (which is disgusting cuz he tells me), he broke the charger, dropped it on wooden floors tons of times, then his sister spilled water into the keyboard. It stopped working for months then started working today, on his birthday! How ironic. But the screen still does this. Is it worth $80? He acts like a Jew when it comes to this stuff and I don't expect him to buy it, but yeah just wondering.

An extended warranty was put is place for some models , although my DV2500 was not on the very limited list . , it is the same issue . HP are trying to cop out . there are thousands of users that are unhappy as all have the same issue , bad design .

no boot no post .

any ideas , hp support bouncers said your not on the list .

I had the same problem too, my screen was so bad, at the beggining I thought it was because of the screen & I changed it, but after a couple days I realise wasn´t this the problem so, a friend of mine told me it was the graphic card and He was right, this is the problem; in Spain I could changed it for 120 Euros, I think this problem have it all the pavilion dv2000, HP shoulds to send a comunicate to all the people who buy this product!!!

i have a lcd prb in my hp dv2000 ....n they r asking me more then 600 malaysian RM to fix this prb..i didnt throw it smewhere nor its dropped frm me ever... its a fuckin internal probelm..now i purchase new samsung lcd monitor for this..and made it a desktop pc.....

hp is personal again..!!! :(

I have the same mother fucking problem, screen on mine is just black it's like it's dead like the computer is off but all the lights come are onn. Motherboard issue with mine and HP wants around $300 to fix it. Mother fucking theifs an it seems like it's a known issue with slot of us. Any ideas to how to replace the mother board and where to buy it.

I have some what the same issue with my laptop. I have a Dell Latitude 5400. The lines show on my laptop screen, but at the bottom is shows a small portion of the top.

I've sent my laptop,HP pavilion dv5 1101 en to warranty, they've replaced my motherboard, it worket well for few weeks, and now the problem had reapeared. They've swapped my broken motherboard with another broken motherboard....

I'm verry dissapointed with HP.... I'll never buy something from them ever again....

I was told that it's the Nvidia Chips on the MB plus the high temperature of the laptop. My CPU reach up to 95 c. while the GPU reach up to 108 C on most of the time i play game

I think you need to collect some friends who has the same prob and tell this story to the news in Romania. Tell HP first that you will give the story to the news and wait to see their reaction.

not in Thailand tho. They require you to talk personally but not telling anyone until you claim to them first.

I was told it's the wire band that comes from the motherboard into the LCD.

I tried to write to HP but they sent me to one of their partner service in Romania who does not even import the necessary parts to fix HP equipment.

I'm cured of buying HP stuff from now on.

it's either the screen cable connector or the screen itself needs replacing. buy a screen cable for it from ebay and take it to a hardware store and ask them to replace it for you if the same problem still occurs you need a new screen. which is expensive
