As far as why the Niners didn't give him a chance, blame the idiotic O-Coordinator Jim Hostler. He has to go down as one of the worst in NFL history. He let the blocking schemes go to crap which ended up with Alex Smith getting injured, and let weapons like Lelie and Hill rot on the bench for no reason.
