  • love the original. love this cover too!

  • I love Owens version of this song.. a lot. But I think the tempo is a bit fast here. He's having troubles keeping up with the lyrics.

  • @MsRakelli Art by Yoshitaka Amano.

  • thanks so much for uploading all these!

  • This is the first song I can think of to actually bring tears to my eyes. The original is nice of course, but there's something about his voice that makes me love this cover just a tiny bit more.

  • I have been meaning to find this for so long! Thank you.

  • Amazing!

  • Cool, but strange.

  • Is there anywhere I can download this?

  • i loooveee this!

  • wow, this is an amazing live version

  • thanks for the uploads :)

  • I love this song ^^

    Both FF's version and Newsom's.

  • Well, for a live performance,

    this was pretty good.

    I couldn't tell the difference.

  • @demetriamariaa other than the clpping and whistling lol ^^

  • thankyouthankyou,

I've been looking for the studio version of this.

  • Actually, this is a live performance, but it sounds very good. I don't think there is a studio versio of this from Owen Pallett.

  • There is a version of Peach Plum Pear on 2006 FF EP Young Canadian Mothers. Can´t listen it right now, but I think that is a studio version.

  • You're correct, there is a studio version that is better than the live version.

Though he is amazing live, I love Owen Pallett.

  • @SusumiCHAN

Yes, there are 2 studio versions. One can be found on his first EP as Final Fantasy called Young Canadian Mothers. Then, a rerecorded version is on his debut album, Has A Good Home. The song, however, was named "Adventure.exe".

  • @DeLiCioUsFiReS "Adventure.exe" is not the same song as "Peach, Plum, Pear". The only studio version, as far as I know, is on "Young Canadian Mothers".

  • @whiskycopter Yes, "Adventure.exe" from Has A Good Home is indeed the same song as "Peach Plum Pear". It's one of my favorite tracks and I listen to it almost everyday. Like I said in my original post, Owen Pallett recorded it twice: once for the Young Canadian Mothers EP where it remained titled "Peach Plum Pear" and then again for Has A Good Home where he called it "Adventure.exe".

  • @DeLiCioUsFiReS

Let's clear this now. Adventure.exe is in no way a Peach Plum Pear cover ( not even close). No clue how this idea even got started. Adventure.exe is an amazing original song written by Owen Pallet and one of my favorites on the album.

  • @KamadakeX Wow, this is so weird. After a little investigating, I found that the copy of Has A Good Home I have has the "Adventure.exe" that you're referring to listed as track 8, but it's called "*A" (2:03) and track 9 is "Peach Plum Pear" listed as "Adventure.exe" (2:48). I looked up the album on Wiki and it lists an untitled track as number 8 (:39), which is not on my copy, and "Adventure.exe", the one you're referring to, is #9 (2:01). How odd. Hope that clears things up a bit.

  • @DeLiCioUsFiReS That is bizarre. That would make sense where the confusion started. I wonder if it is simply a miss-labeling.

  • @KamadakeX I thought I was going crazy at first. :-] I wonder if it's just a bad copy altogether. I don't even see Peach Plum Pear listed on the track list for Has A Good Home on Wiki. It was an advance copy, so maybe it was supposed to be on there but got yanked from the final list? Looks like there are a few different versions because the one on Amazon only lists 14 tracks. Hmm.... the mystery continues.

  • @DeLiCioUsFiReS I'm almost certain PPP was not on "He has a good home", (unless there is some special edition I don't know about). As a matter of fact, as far as I know, it was only released on the "Young Canadian Mothers" EP. You probably just somehow got a weird copy. :P

  • @KamadakeX Oh, one other thing: the song I have listed as "Adventure.exe" on Has A Good Home is different from the Young Canadian Mothers version. I have to ask my exboyfriend about it. He's the one who gave me the album way back when 'cause he's always getting advance copies of stuff, so I wonder if it was mistake with a first issue or something.

  • @SusumiCHAN He put the cover on a Final Fantasy EP called Young Canadian Mothers, I think.

  • @mramywinehouse I think I actually have it on my comp somewhere. I'll put it up if I find the time.

  • @SusumiCHAN 11 months later a man still waits with bated breath...

  • You are so awesome for putting all this music up. :)
