  • That doesn't look like a kitchen.

  • Tasha Yar looks real smexxy at the beginning

  • This is so much cooler when you're high

  • This week on a very special Star Trek TNG.

  • "I guess I just don't understand."

"That's because you're an idiot, Wesley. Everyone knows that!"

  • ``The more you know``

    >swish<

  • Yeah I bet you and your friends are ready for her in the guest quarters Picard.

  • Robocop what bothers you?

R: Drugs, drugs bother me. and Wesley Crusher ... ballsack

  • At least this pointed out that drugs can make people feel good. Most PSA's act like all drugs make you hallucinate crazy shit. Pointing out the circumstances that often lead to addiction was also nice. The war on drugs has created an environment where most people think addiction is just a matter of personal responsibility, and - surprise surprise - it hasn't helped.

Drugs/addiction need to be treated as a public health issue, rather than one of crime.

  • lol, shes convincing me how amazing drugs sound

  • This actually does apply to almost every recreational drug, with the exception of marijuana.

  • Compuer. Synthacaine. 2 grams. Hot.

  • Sounds like Tasha wants to sell Wesley some speed.

  • Yes this is season 1 but this is one of the better episodes otherwise. I liked the solution at the end you get the drugs but no coils haha. But gee Wesley you are a more annoying ass kisser than Hal 2000

  • i may just be bored but...

    this stinks....

cut to sciency stuff or blasting or aliens or SOMETHING!

  • Someone needs to give this kid drugs...

  • Oh dear. This is one of the best examples why season 1 sucked so much.

  • Genius, is she trying to make us want to do drugs?

  • subtlety? fuck that!

  • Tasha's hot, apparently she did a playboy, thats why she got booted from the show

  • was it me or did Lt. Yar sound like she took a sensational trip down memory lane into federation boot camp & aeronautics training? So data must have tripped the internal deck microphone which transmitted the conversation back to Picard who was annoyed that she was divulge any more information that would incriminate him as her supplier and "friend w/ benifits".

  • Data's expression @1:00 is EPIC!

  • I respect what they were trying to do but they really went over the top. But it was the 1980s. It was all about excess.

  • One thing I liked about this scene is that Tasha mentioned that socioeconomics can play a huge role in drug abuse. I used to work with teens who were recovering drug addicts, and hearing them tell their life stories it was obvious that if they hadn't been self-medicating with drugs many of them would not have survived to adulthood. We have to stop looking at drug use as a crime and instead see it as a symptom of people who need help beyond detox.

  • Man, I need a drink...

  • And here I thought it was for "Viewers Like You". =(

    Data looked confused lol

  • what a shitty video.

your mom reads Reader's Digest and you misunderstand Star Trek.

    fuck your family

  • Lol at the end Data's like "Shit, I gotta get rid of my bowl now..."

  • I love Data's face at the end.

  • The Boy: "And that's the trap."

LOL Wesley, you are so wise.

  • it's artificial...like Yar's acting.

she fucks data then gets killed. then for shits and giggles they keep bringing her back as the unwanted spawn of an alternate time-line yar and a horny romulan. what the fuck???

  • But she's hot!

  • And then she gets killed by the tar-man.

  • Hyposprays would be so much easier then a damn spoon and cotton ball.

  • lol caught this episode on TV last week - good anti drugs message but it's worth watching if only to check out the curve's of Denise Crosby's bum @0:16.

Makes me wish I'd been a member of the cast or crew, Denise Crosby was quite something back then...

  • It sounds as if Yar was done drugs. Does anyone know if she did?

  • Well, it is implied in the show and in books that Tasha did just about everyting on her home planet.

  • im willing to bet if you ask wil wheaton about this today....he'd rip it apart like he was on mst3000

  • Y'know, I really hope one of these days he actually DOES make a deal with Mike Nelson to do a Rifftrax commentary on these.

  • While this was pretty damn cheesey, at least they were honest enough to say that yes, drugs do make you feel good. There were lots of PSAs, cartoons, and after-school specials from the 80s and 90s that said such unrealistic things about drugs that I think it did more harm than good.

  • It was the 70s kid, you have to understand that everyone was doing it and it was AWESOME!

  • @Casanuda not everyone was doing it and it was awesome for only those who were weak pussies and needed some chemical to feel like they have huge dicks

  • actually im pretty sure that the point wasnt 'letz tell wesley in da form ov an aftaskool speshul' you can tell that her character is being sincere and it sounds to me like she wanted to make him understand from a PERSONAL point of view almost like she used to be an addict or something

more of a character building speech on tasha yar than some afterschool thing i think but no one really got it everyone just sees PSA stars everywhere

  • This would had been so clutch to have Data lean over and snort a line while that chick strips down for coke and a gang bang with the capt and the 2nd in command. Leaving young wesley to ponder drugs.

  • Make it so.

  • lovely idea. ;)

  • Wesley shall rot in hell for doing this vilanious deed, tis a blight upon humanity, drugs for all the children of the Earth, pain shall be - NO more !

  • Who are you? The 456 from torchwood children of earth?

  • No. I'm darthchess, the lord of the board.

  • I hate that kid more than I hate Jar-Jar Binx. I know it's mean, but it's something I had to get off my chest...

Also, Tasha Yar is kinda hot.

  • This episode was quite good, especially by first season TNG standards, except for this speech. They lay it far too thick. I mean the audience aren't idiots.

  • As long as Lt. Yar is in MY guest quarters I won't need any drugs to feel good.

  • I used to su.... for crack, ok. Now play with your toys little willy, and I'll replicate a dare t-shirt for you.

  • Knowing is half the battle.

  • "GI Joooooooee"

  • "chi watatashi fusu kuruuuuuuuuu"

  • Now I see why everyone hates Wesley. xD

  • Yeah smoke weed every day!

  • Just say no!

  • HAHA!! Yeah, this was the "Don't Use Drugs" episode! I need to pop it in and watch the episode again :P

  • Anyone else notice that young Wesley is rocking the Red, Gold and Green??? YEAH!

  • What expert advice. Sounds like Tasha has been there and done that!

  • Cut to Wesley asking the replicator for an extra dose of oxycontin.

  • Ok the good old 1980s.

  • I saw this a couple months ago and couldn't stop laughing.

  • Oh gawd. After never paying much attention to TNG, particularly the earlier seasons, I now realize where all the Wesley hate comes from. (If he was like this all the time, anyway.)

    That was embarrassing. x_O

  • Damn, look at the curve on Denise Crosby's butt at 00:16! Sadly, we never got to see much of it during Season 1, except when she nailed Data.

  • @cholling i never knew she did that with data..... that's just wrong

  • Hmm, she knew a lot about how drugs make someone feel. It's almost like she... ah, never mind.

  • It's possible she did when she was younger on that planet she grew up on. Alas we never really got to know much about her Tasha Yar's back-story.

  • Good thing I don't do drugs that are physically addictive

  • Was this episode sponsored by DARE or what? "Special appearance by Nancy Reagan as Queen Doodaa"

  • 1st off not all drugs are the same. Also I do agree she probably went to the holo-deck to replicate a FAT BLUNT.

  • "drugs can.. make you feel good. Want to come to my quarters and do E?"

  • is Data wereing his uniform backwards it looks like it lol, and Denise Crosby is really hot i wish Tasha did not die.

  • she goes back to her quarters and lites up a joint.

  • WOW! I can't believe crap like this actually worked on us. LOL

  • "I don't understand."

    "I hope you never do."

  • "This has been a public serves announcement by Star Trek TNG"

  • brought to you by the letter D

  • I beleive they just had a whole planet full of meth-labs!

  • Tasha sounds like a closet druggy to me! Lol!

  • with all respect, she is just giving advice and she probably saw close friends doing them. mike

  • Man, Denise Crosby is HOT.

  • AWESOME!!! MAOMAOFUNGOW, Thank You! I'm glad someone else knows that alcohol IS a drug too! SERIOUSLY! Statistics show that Alcohol is the number killer of college and highschool aged people. Not pot or anything petty like that!

  • god damn i hate westly he should have gotten killed off

  • This was a real facepalm moment. I felt like crying.

  • data was like WTF!!

  • The planet New Paris where Yar was born was somewhat backwards when it come to techonology and the way people lived (having gangs wars taking drugs that sort of thing) And no drugs are drugs no matter what century.

  • The stuff she got addicted was called Angel Dust her mom feed to her to keep her quiet. Its mentioned in the ST-TNG book survivors.

  • The sad thing is, Wil Wheaton was totally on crack during that episode. Why else would he be wearing that rainbow uniform? Splah!

  • I don't remember that episode with the inside info about drug addiction. So they were trying to reach out to younger audiences.

  • OOoo spaceeee craaack! haha... I like tataj's comment.

  • At the end Data's like "Wesley you square!"

  • oh wesley crusher, your so cra-zay!! :D

  • I just can't beleive the words coming out of Wesleys mouth, c'mon, hes trapped on a friggin star ship, hes gotta be on something!

  • haha!

  • Let's try to be a little less preachy, hmm?

  • It is not suppose to be preachy, just a corner moment from TNG. Let's not be so sensitive, hmmm?

  • @critias7

You're an idiot. You're worried about people telling you what you don't want to hear.
