  • hahahahaha we just call it regular style. That's the funniest fucking thing I've seen all week. That just made my day.

  • 1:50 hahahahaha

  • This was very inspiring to me. In a handsame way too.

  • ohh you were adopted. That explains things.

  • That art historian looked really touched by Ken's particular style cause it's like what a child would to express his emotions.

  • Ken Tanaka is a Jedi

  • You're art reminds me of Daniel Johnson

  • I love your art. :) You've made me want to go do some painting. :)

  • is that an art?????just asking....bcoz looks like shit to me...haha joke...

  • ken, i love the exciting adventures of waiting man! currently in that situation! haha! nice videos too!! keep up a;; the good work! ja mata^_^

  • "i hate art even though i'm an art historian" ???? o.o

  • @PurpleNymph

    yup, thats weird

  • Liked the video but I have to say that it was disappointing to see someone say they 'hate' art....considering we're only surrounded by it on a daily basis; clothes/fashion, languages, architecture, music, movies, technology, etc, etc. I don't think I can even imagine a world without art really.

  • whipped cream and other delights! that chick is the graphic on my skateboard! woooohoooo!!!!!

  • Ken, your art lacks in technique but flourishes in concepts, this is the first time I enjoyed such a art style.

  • dude at 5:15 looks like the trainman from the matrix

  • every time I watch your videos I smile and then I am sad and want to drink many hard whiskeys cause l am not surrounded by many beautiful Japanese women as you are in your life - I hate you :(

  • Come oun! XD

  • When I think about the fact that your real parents are watching this videos it's just amazing. FTW Ken. You made great job

  • cool ^^

I love your videos and wish you success

  • Wow.. I didn't know you were adopted to Japan O____O That's interesting.

  • Cool video, you have some awesome things going on!

    And Pay's music sounds good!

  • I like your artwork Ken, That batman one made me laugh

  • this is again a most nice important contribution to kindlyness world veiw and makes my hear smile inside happily radiant inside

    :)arigato

  • yes

  • is that his real accent?

  • @amargeaux

Yeah, raised in Japan, then learned English lol. So he has that accent.

  • Wow I love this, wish I was there!

  • i love your art and your garage sale! hope you will do a show in melbourne !

  • ken is sucha smartass. he knows his art is all bullshit and the he has all these lazy snobby hippies saying ridiculous things as girl at 5:38 "it's VERY conceptual" ...

  • @pplarzza I think Ken is a Japanese native and English as his second language

  • @zakubabyboy I think that's what Ken wants you to think

  • @GeoffT7 I think it would have been sooo cool if it were real though. I mean you don't EVER get to hear about a Japanese couple adopting an American son. I'm sad it's not real, but at the same time, I'm glad it's not real, cuz that's still a little strange to me lol

  • @zakubabyboy he's an american actor David Ury ..he was in breaking bad tv show. lol

  • you're art is so funny, Ken. XD no wonder you got in the exhibit.

  • Stop looking for tthe relatives of Ken Smith, you're for sure the long lost son Helmut Schmidt. Your accent proves it.

Praise to god, or whoever, you're back!

Our hope for the next german chancellor or emporer.

  • i love that picture of the bean! ITS JUST AWESOME!

  • I love Ken's videos. There is something really special about his art. I am very picky and critical, but there is something really special and good about what he does. All of his stuff makes me smile, which seems to be his primary motivation. He has an amazing ability to create smiles.

  • Remi is beautiful. the garage sale thing is hilarious

  • that was awesome!! i really Enjoyed watching ^^

  • omg I lost it so bad at the 'regular style' painting. crying from laughter. thanks, totally left of field, that hasn't happened for a while. X*D

  • Legurar Stuiru

  • you are role model for all intternational works..what colour is your pubic hair and what is your blood type....please benefit from all work for the worlds positive for you welcome you:)

  • really cool dude keep the hard work

  • I love the one from the Ken story that says "busco al señor Smith". truly gives the feeling of ppl trying to help you! :-)

  • My GF is japanese, too - i am one happy Guy...but i don't like Sushi, hahaaaaa.

  • why can't I meet a hot chick like Remi How did he met her?

  • You the man, Ken!

  • hes a fake though =/

  • Remi looks real different..still kawaii though

  • Lovely Ken!

You give off a delightful vibe :-)

  • flowers everywhere.

  • Can a japanese speaker tell me?

Does " Konnichi wa. Ore wa nihon hanishimasu narau. " make sense in japanese?

  • it's not accurate but i still can guess what you're saying.

If it's present tense, "Watashi wa Nihongo o naratte imasu." would be better.

  • ken tanaka ガム噛んでるjajajajaja!!

  • lol "garage sale"

  • Anyone have a link to the band playing the background music in this vid? Kind of heard to search for "Pay"..

  • Ken Tanaka is a genious!

  • ART FOR THE DERANGED LOL

  • 2:51 its mari araki.. man, she is gorgeous..

    Hachiko is lovely!

  • haha lol he got you all hes an actor dude he - is - an- actor!!!!

  • when those dudes realize they bought pictures from a fabulist, they're gonna hurl.

  • i cant believe i didnt find out about u earlier!!! ( i saw ur vids for the first time today).

登録した!!!please let us know about ur next show! thank yoU!!!!

  • Yo men, nice vid, I really enjoy it!

  • ken tanaka <3

    you is awesome!

  • COME ON!!!

  • herb alpert whipped cream!

  • Tanaka san domo. An art historian who hates art. suki desu.

  • This video is almost a work of art in itself. First you've got the very white Ken speaking with a heavy Japanese accent or speaking Japanese then you've got all these asians speaking fluent English. The only snag would be that douche blond who "Hates art even though she's an Art Historian" ya we get it, you're so edgy, woo.

The rest was cool and his art reminds me of an 8 yearold with an adult perspective which in itself is very interesting.

  • i love you're art

  • 2:50, Handsome Dominatrix lady? The Hopey Giraffe was the best. Your videos are great. Keep up the good work.

  • i hate art too

  • This is so cute i find art to be something strange but this work is so sweet. Its hard to explain but it makes you smile. :)

  • com on! thats of a game or somthing sounds like cpt.Falcon

  • what the fuck!

why does he talk like a 12 year old japanese school girl

  • LOL if 12 year old japanese school girls sounded like that i would kill myself.

  • @omgcancer sound like what xD

  • Tanaka-san! Please come to New York!

  • GRATS

  • That was awesome! u d man bro! definitely made me good about life!

  • ???

  • lol that was some awesome artwork, I wouldn't mind hanging some of them around my room.

  • I could draw the same grade school drawing, make up a story and call it art. Hilarious flower song ^_^

  • lol. this video is hilarious. Oh David Ury.

  • Very little art has ever made me happy or smile...I agree with the girl, your artwork makes me feel happy about life : )

  • Ken Tanaka i hope you find your parents have a good day :-)

  • lol

  • are u fo real dude..u dont hav tht accent in real life right?

  • hi got adopted

  • I love this song...reminds me of summer in the 70s somehow

  • Just tweeted about the gallery store (arturot), Are you in Twitter Ken? would be great if you could join. You would get tons of followers.

  • I don't twitter....maybe someday :)

  • aww!!! i want the cupcake CD!!! =D and i wish i could help you find your parents!! and where is the art gallery located?

  • @helpmefindparents great pieces, got many laughs and saw a few double meanings, great stuff man.

  • First time I saw your paintings in that gallery video you posted sometime ago, I thought you were joking, but now I actually like your style a lot. I even feel like buying one of the little ones for $20? :) they are very cool and now that you are popular they are worth even more! Ganbatte!

  • Thanks, miltonfrank. The gallery site doesn't show many of the cheaper paintings, so maybe I'll try to do a video that shows a few of them.

  • Ah Ken, I really wish I was there! I would have loved to go to the opening reception.

I love your art style. It's so unique and refreshing.

It was great to see Mari in there as well! :-)

    -Anthony

  • cheers Ken !!

    nice opening !!

  • I like how childlike your artwork is, not just in appearance, but in its direct portrayal of truths that most adults feel uncomfortable expressing. I especially liked your drawing of an athlete crossing the finish line thinking "I still wish I'd stayed home." "Housecat" was also very cute and funny. R-chan

  • Hey Ken, I wish I could've made it, but alas, other commitments kept me away. Looked like a great success. Congratulations!

  • It goes til May 2nd, so please stop by if you are in town:)

  • He (a white man) was adopted by Japanese parents? That I have never imagined..I guess my ignorance is a bliss.

  • mann, I really wish I could be there

I'm so glad this happened for you, Ken

  • I'm glad you got to do this. How cool! The garage sale idea was pretty neat!

  • Thanks, Leanerhero. It's been very fun for me:)

  • You are agreat artist

by the way are you going to Sandiego comic con?

    Hope to see you there!

    I am going on friday

  • Thanks, bakudan. I hope to make it to Comic con, but I'mnot sure yet.

  • Cool, I whant to get the Mazinger Z that you have, is so cool.

For now I only have the red baron robot and ultraman.

  • hi my friend since i didn't know anything about this exhibition where was this taken place? like what city in what country? lol ken tanaka is really such a cute and nice man who make this world become even more beautiful

  • Thanks for coming, Jedi. Which paintings did you get?

  • I don't remember, I remember meeting you and then I said Nodo Ga Kawaki Mashita. Then got a lot of drinks and got some pictures. The only thing that I am drawing a blank on is the pictures. I had them shipped out. I had a really good time. Reminded me of my first time in Japan.

  • Oh yes, I remember :)

  • I wish I could go, but I live in New York. :(

  • really great art Ken!!,keep up the good work.

wished I was able to go look at your art, I live in Connecticut, kind of hard for me to go down on a trip anytime soon.

    awesome ,awesome art!!.

  • Wonderful, art is the window that lets the soul shine out.

  • David... nice show. Though, I felt your friends were the real artists. For those following Ken Tanaka... he is a character made by David Ury. David was raised in Sonoma, California and began his acting career on Japanese television as the "zany Japanese speaking foreigner". He is 100% American and was never adopted by Japanese parents. But, his youtube persona is funny at best.

  • Love your artwork, Ken! It's very conceptual and light-heated at the same time. :o)

  • Tanakasan! Where can I get a Hopey the Hopeful Giraffe t-shirt??? ホーピーはめちゃリッパなキリンだからよ!Or other shirts featuring your artwork??? Yoroshiku onegai itasimasu!

  • Hi thekobos, I haven't made hopey shirts yet, but you can get the shirts featured in video #65 "choose me no choose me" and "I still wish I'd stayed home", through the gallery. the website is in the info box at the top right.

  • Now you need to do a road show!

  • congradulations ken, looks like it was a veru successful exibition and garage sale.

Oh and god luck with your search ^-^

  • I want 'It Makes My Sadness Go Away and Gives Me a Kind of Warm Feeling' t-shirt... do they make one? Arigato from very SAD person ;-(

  • I love you Ken. Good luck in your search.

  • this is so cool, we love you too ken!

  • Remi chan!!!

Congrats on yor sale fo the Ken Tanaka story. I could only see it through the homepage, but it looks great.

Hopey rocks! Will there by any web sales of the shirts and prints?

Wow, I love the painted records - this looks really great. Complete agreement with the final interview comment. I wish I could be there.

    Peace

  • Thanks, Hikosaemon. Yes, I am hoping to start doing my own web sales of things at some point, but I guess I need to make a web site. Right now the shirts and prints are all being sold through the gallery via email.

Hopey Prints are $50 (it's an edition of 10 numbered prints) and t-shirts are $25.

  • .. and we love Ken Tanaka...

    <3

  • the girl 5:36 reminds me of tila taquila lol how unfortunate.

  • Keep pushing the limits Ken !!!

  • Ken, your artwork is nice.

By the way, I really enjoyed your "bad japanese puns" video, please make more!

  • AHAHAHA OMG is this for real? HAHAAHAHAH You rule tanaka san! LMAO

  • i lovee itt whenn heee saysss

    COMEEE ONNN

  • I'm glad your art show was a success!

  • Maximum Pleasant! It must be so, because a few weeks ago, I was feeling sad and lonely. Then I found Ken Tanaka's youtubes and it made me happy. Just that simple. And I like they way you play with illusion and (I guess it's) irony. I also think you are channeling Andy Kaufmann. Well enough analysis. アイ ワーズ エンジョイング ベリ マッチ。

  • Dude your hilarious, wish i could have gone lol

Oh yea you gotta get remi in more videos she's

    something else<---

  • Hello, this is really cool!
