Ok so I'm having some problems with my version. I have the entire kit but not the HDMI monitor. My monitor is A/V. I used the one shorter 35mm line (the one that looks like a headphone jack) to go from my camera to the monitor. Nothing seems to happen no matter how I change my output settings. Is it me?

I see in your lighthouse video that you used a sunshade around the ProAm monitor - did that shade come with the unit or was that extra? Also the mini ball joint/hot shoe connector - did that come with the monitor kit too? I've bought one of those same things for use with my Zoom H4n on a simple rig I put together for my T2i

@BrisMedia It looks like it comes with a female AV connector cord. It doesn't work when you hook up the AV male adapter cord to the 550D and then the female adapter to the LCD screen?

@EdwardDiBello I'm not sure what to tell you. Are you sure that it's not an issue with the camera? Perhaps the display is turning off after 5 minutes. If you just purchased it then I would just ask the vendor to replace it. I've had nothing but good luck with it.

Just to be clear - this ISNT a FULL HD monitor - the native screen resolution of the LCD panel is only 800*480 which means if anything its closer to 480p.
