@Sihion as far as WoW goes, I'd say most definitely. I have a mouse with 2 buttons on the side and I use it for trinkets and a few macros. You can use a modifier with it too, like shift or ctrl, so with 6 buttons on the side you COULD have like 18 different moves assigned to them. I don't play CoD though so I can't comment on that one.
I am playing quite a lot of League of Legends and I'm using the Naga, since I used to play WoW. I have assinged a few of the Naga buttons to smartcast spells/summoner spells and I think it's really working out for most spells, not for like skarner Qs and for other spammables it's faster to use keyboard.
I bought this mouse yesterday, and have sent it back today. I use a Razer Lachesis at the moment, when I put Naga Hex in my hand I instantly hated it. It's smaller than the Lachesis, my hand barely fits on it. I'm constantly scared to hit the 6 buttons. I managed to miss-hit them on numerous occasions. I'd be playing entire games of LoL without even touching the buttons, as it seemed more effort to position my thumb than have my left hand on the keyboard in the first place. Oh well :(
I think this is a cool idea, but totally unnecessary. The original Naga is useful because MMOs use so many buttons and modifier combos -- MOBAs use QWER and a couple keys around those. What am I going to do with my left hand if everything is on my mouse? I would think it would be faster to keep your hand functions split up: movement/control with right hand, actions for left hand.
I like this one a lot more over the original naga, you can just click the right button without thinking. having 12 buttons under your thumb is not practical imo. i think razer should come up with some other versions soon, like wireless, Bluetooth and double (like the mamba?) and last but not least, good old black/blue theme plzzzz! when you have too many razer products you just gotta stick with that theme!
Update: After a few days of use I would not recommend Synapse, especially if you have driver 3.02. Today it reverted my settings to default. Luckily logging out and back in brought them back. This still annoys me. Also when applying settings the mouse locks up. Overall not worth it. I am uninstalling everything and starting from fresh with the standard driver 3.02 (you have Google search for it now).
Update: The top surface is indeed hard glossy plastic and not the rubber that is on the original Naga. Initial reviews on Amazon are unfavorable for the glossy surface but praise the new mechanical switch button feel.
I downloaded and installed "Synapse 2.0" to replace the Driver 3.02. Three problems with Synapse so far: 1. Synapse failed to import the proper programs (I had to manually find them all again). 2. It did not correctly import several of my macros with timings (once again had to recreate). 3. The interface seems slower than "Razer Naga Configurator 3.02". One could argue the layout in Synapse is improved. Synapse still includes the excellent macro creation tool & config change button option.
@cultofrazer I'm thinking about getting this, but from watching "unboxing" videos I've seen people get mousepads for the mouse. Will this be included or do you have to buy it separate?
Dissapointed, that said Razer Naga is the best mouse I've ever used. Still no little finger rest. I was hoping to get a big mechanical button on the right side that would've been comftorable to hold down for sprinting/jet packing etc. Also the two extra button placements seem worse, atleast when I think about it. Still not really an useless upgrade or variation if you like.
I hope this mouse has a decent quality and durability not like some products from Razer. I also, think that the company will release a Diablo version of the mouse.

I love the design for this, but I don't understand why you'd want a Naga with less buttons. Sure some games don't have as many buttons to press as an MMO but even then you could just use the 1-6 (which are arguably in a better position than on this mouse) buttons on a regular Naga. I'm hesitating between this one and the original naga. I'm a MMO player but I'm affraid I could get lost in a game with 12 buttons on one mouse (I never tryied it). So I think it could be easier for me to use this one with 6 buttons. Any toughts?

this one is aimed more towards games with less shit to press. besides, the naga comes with training stickers for the naga. all you need is like 2-3 days with the training stickers and the 12 buttons become second nature to you :) the other 2 top ones by the left click are also pretty nice so in total its actually 17 buttons hah

@Spy531dude The Naga Hex is designed for gamers who play MOBAs and Action RPGs primarily and don't need or want to extra buttons. The reason that it is the same price as the Naga is because it has the same tech and quality as the Naga. Number of buttons does not determine the price.

(Designed for MOBAs only) I mean, this mouse is BETTER that the original one at RPGs because it has less (and better) buttons with a more intuitive layout. I Got Oringinal Naga, And I Play MMO / FPS Games And Dony find it hard to locate to every single button of those 12, if id now need to choose i would prob buy still Oringinal naga, but well maybe some1 finds this more usefull.
The placement of the buttons concerns. On my Naga the most comfortable buttons are the 1-6, the front rows, since this is where my the tip of my thumb is. They have moved the buttons to where the joint of the thumb rests, which is not as precise as the tip and requires you to move your thumb much more, resulting in slower timing. I hope you guys have playtested with some professionals.
im just curious...do people really need 1-12 buttons on the side? Do wow players actually use all of them? I mean I can understand 1 - 9, like a standard num pad on a keyboard, but adding a forth row of numbers seemless kinda overkill to me. Honestly, this thing seems like a way to grab some quick cash more than anything. The original Naga is pretty much better in everyway, and works just fine in all game genres, not just MMOs.

pretty soon they'll release the naga hex ultimate supreme ninja extreme edition 5 weeks later with wireless function, multicolor lighting, a less ugly design, and interchangable side panels.
Finally they improved a design over the old version. This version has a decent layout for the 6 buttons, so it should be easy to use. I was about to go for the Corsair Vengeance M90, guess I will wait for this one to come out :)
@Igorsov The Naga was made primarily for the MMO players, and the Naga Hex for MOBA and Action RPG players whom may require lesser buttons in gameplay.
We are due to ship before end of January, so you needn't wait long for the Naga Hex ;)
@cultofrazer Razer BlackWidow Stealth Edition + Razer Naga Hex would be a perfect combo for any MMO in my opinion. And you guys need to refill your damn stock faster. A few weeks is not a big deal to wait for the Razer Naga Hex, hope it won't take longer. On the other hand I am not a very patient person, so yeah I might just go for the corsair m90.

@TheCrackerBrony I have 6 85's. My warrior is my main, I am a gladiator and the class has a lot less key binds compare to my warlock. Watch a few reviews about the original razer naga on youtube, and you will see what I am talking about. You probably a martian with such long fingers and stuff if you can reach all of the 12 buttons in time.

Ok. let's recapture this. this new "mouse" only has 6 buttons on the side. the naga has 12. this mouse has 2 button under the scroll wheel.which make me think, how the hell are u gona use those with good timing? the naga has then next to the left click making it much easier to use. So they are selling a new mouse with less button, they are awkwardly placed and it's the same price as a razer naga? ppl should stick to the naga

@Spy531dude The Naga Hex is designed for gamers who play MOBAs and Action RPGs primarily and don't need or want to extra buttons. The reason that it is the same price as the Naga is because it has the same tech and quality as the Naga. Number of buttons does not determine the price.

@cultofrazer Honestly I think that is bad marketing. (Designed for MOBAs only) I mean, this mouse is BETTER that the original one at RPGs because it has less (and better) buttons with a more intuitive layout. Honestly I would buy this for FPS gaming too, and also to use with Photoshop and Autocad and any 3D modeler. I feel like this mouse is getting WAY less respect than it deserves.

I Got Oringinal Naga, And I Play MMO / FPS Games And Dony find it hard to locate to every single button of those 12, if id now need to choose i would prob buy still Oringinal naga, but well maybe some1 finds this more usefull.

The placement of the buttons concerns. On my Naga the most comfortable buttons are the 1-6, the front rows, since this is where my the tip of my thumb is. They have moved the buttons to where the joint of the thumb rests, which is not as precise as the tip and requires you to move your thumb much more, resulting in slower timing. I hope you guys have playtested with some professionals.

im just curious...do people really need 1-12 buttons on the side? Do wow players actually use all of them? I mean I can understand 1 - 9, like a standard num pad on a keyboard, but adding a forth row of numbers seemless kinda overkill to me. I would rather have it not have numbers 10 - 12 and make the 1 - 9 buttons bigger or something. I like the hex button layout, seems easier to use than the naga...but I'm not a fan of the green wavey look. I can't decide between the naga elite or this @_@

Honestly, this thing seems like a way to grab some quick cash more than anything. The original Naga is pretty much better in everyway, and works just fine in all game genres, not just MMOs.

Multiplayer - 99% of games today
Online - 99% of games today
Battle - 98% of games today
Arena - 99% of action games today
MOBA is made up by League of Legends people so people would stop calling it a DotA clone (and it is just that)

@OrdoMallius no you cant, cod is not an arena, it is a shooter, and arena is a game like league or hon that type of map setup imo. a moba is an overhead style game, thats why games like starcraft can fall into its category.
and this product is great, not everyone like the feel of the Nostromo thus they wont use it, i could never use that thing so instead i would use this mouse.

Finally they improved a design over the old version. This version has a decent layout for the 6 buttons, so it should be easy to use. I was about to go for the Corsair Vengeance M90, guess I will wait for this one to come out :)

@Igorsov The Naga was made primarily for the MMO players, and the Naga Hex for MOBA and Action RPG players whom may require lesser buttons in gameplay.
We are due to ship before end of January, so you needn't wait long for the Naga Hex ;)

@cultofrazer Razer BlackWidow Stealth Edition + Razer Naga Hex would be a perfect combo for any MMO in my opinion. And you guys need to refill your damn stock faster. A few weeks is not a big deal to wait for the Razer Naga Hex, hope it won't take longer. On the other hand I am not a very patient person, so yeah I might just go for the corsair m90.

For some reason I think that most people do not use all the 12 buttons on the mouse. Why not to get something like Razer BlackWidow Stealth Edition + Razer Naga Hex = problem solved? I just think there is no reason to put so many extra buttons on a mouse, when a decent MMO keyboard has at least 5 extra macro buttons.

@Igorsov you obviously didn't play wow correctly, you probably played a paladin or some easy class. i play a warrior and they require a LOT of binds and macros. like... everyone i know that has a naga uses every button and has to use a key modifier to bind them again. what do you mean fast enough fingers? i only use my thumb to press the buttons... yes i can tell you i use all 12 buttons, 3 fold actually. and i still require keyboard binds on top of that. stop using your opinions as fact

@TheCrackerBrony I have 6 85's. My warrior is my main, I am a gladiator and the class has a lot less key binds compare to my warlock. Watch a few reviews about the original razer naga on youtube, and you will see what I am talking about. You probably a martian with such long fingers and stuff if you can reach all of the 12 buttons in time.

@Igorsov and as for binding on the keyboard, you don't use the keyboard buttons past 6 or 7 usually, you rebind the numbers past that to keys closer to your left hand OR create a special key modifier to make the top 6/7 continue on to the next abilities on the action bar. you really don't know much about keybinding and controls for mmo's do you? just stop messaging me im not talking to an idiot like you, i don't need to argue with someone who thinks his opinion is fact. you're linear-minded

I also own a Nostromo and think it sucks ass, because it has less keys than my god damn keyboard. And most gaming keyboards place the macro keys at the sides. Reaching the sides means you have to move your hand away from WASD. If these macro keys are on your mouse (Naga) you don't have to move your left hand.
