Wow, what a great time capsule video! Thanks for the upload. Love to know what kind of camera this was filmed with. The zoom on it is pretty impressive.
I was there, three blocks away, when they blew it up - large crowd
thanks for posting this, i've alwasy felt a special connection to this film from being in the crowds that week (standing out all night with a head cold and flu).
Odd, how i feel like a part of this for just watching it, but i wasn't
This location was in use during the Christmas shopping season. Arnold did some shopping at Macys (New Park Mall) where I had a seasonal job as a college student. I was kneeling on the floor, sorting boxes, when these expensive looking ostrich cowboy boots stepped into view. I peered upwards and it's Arnold. I stood up to greet him and get out of his way. I asked, "Would you like me to clear these boxes away?" He replied, "Don't bah dah." and went to another department.
so cool to see this on home video. I worked there through the entire shoot and while they prepared the building. It was a real treat to see a guy pull up in a BMW and unload the mini-gun from his trunk, then set it up and were firing it so the police could see how far away they could here it. we were standing in the parking lot looking up at the second story window watching everyone take turns firing it. it was an awesome experience to say the least
To me the Terminator series ends with T2. I try to pretend the other two were never made. I wish I could send a Terminator back in time to destroy T3 and Terminator Salvation. ² - Wow I totally agree with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loved the video
I lived in San Jose when this movie was filming. I was at the scene when the T-1000 was chasing them on the freeway in the truck full of liquid nitrogen and the terminator was in the little brown truck.
I don't remember what freeway it was but it went right by the old IBM building.
I've been here. My dad and I collected the spent blanks that we found on the ground. Of course, I was 5 and had no idea what this was, but still, freaking cool!
Lucky bastard, I wish I could have seen that in person- this must qualify as one of the coolest frickin things you could get on home video. Of course, back when this was being filmed I was a small child, but I still remember seeing the movie in theaters when I was little! T2 is still one of the downright coolest films ever made, mistakes and all, even a few dated effects and continuity errors do not detract.
hi, i found that the exact address is 47131 Bayside Pkwy., Fremont, CA 94538. the company which occupies the particular building is called mattson inc. hope that helps. greetings from germany.
jedibitch, i see you uploaded this in april 07, only 33 comments so far and approx 8000 views now at feb 2010. this is a awesome video, am i right in saying you the uploader of this video also shot this video on camcorder, is this where you live, how did you know this was at the time to do with the Movie T2? did you have to travel especially or where you just passing? - i am from liverpool uk
well, they DID have cgi back then but i understand what you mean. they use cgi for EVERYTHING nowadays when its better to not use it if it can be done some other way. i think they had the balance just right back then.
@holtrax2009, Actually, James Cameron was one of the main guys that forwarded the CGI movement. The Effects in T2 and The Abyss were revolutionary for the time.
@holtrax2009 although they were probably one of the earliest to use CGI successfully (T-1000) without it looking corny less is more when it comes to CGI for sure.
I went there today and wondered why it looked so big in the movie because it is a small building and that's cool how they built another level to blow up.
Nice. Sadly I'm not a big fan of that white '83 Corvette C4 nor blair witch style video shooting. Still it's a nice video showing the aftermath.Worth the headache i'm getting now
This is at the end of fremont Blvd a little past Mcdonalds. They rebuilt the building, I believe it's a Lam research facility now. I use to work down the street at a small tech company.
whoever wants to see how the building looks like nowdays go check out the street view at 47131 Bayside Pkwy., Fremont, CA 94538

the scene at the bar where Terminator is naked was shot across the street from where Rodney King got his ass handed to him

back in the days when they didn't use cgi. They should go back to filming like this way more realistic.
