  • F40 !!!

  • It's 20 years old! You can't compare a 20 year old car to a modern one, in it's time it was the bench mark.

  • Ferrari is the hottest brand and will be forever, but this one looks like a bad built testarossa replica..

  • what an ugly gay car!

  • @SatanicTerror shut up muchogrande fucker

  • @atarizilla Why? Thats my opinion....everyone has an own opinion about cars....and so, I think this car is ugly....THATS MY OPINION....what you think about isn't interesting me anyway!

  • @SatanicTerror And your opinion isn't intersting anybody here.. you have no taste and don't know shit about cars to give an opinion...

You are right to say that everyone has an own opinion about cars, but before having or giving your opinion you should have some cars knownledge and some respects, and when you say "what an ugly gay car" this shows that you have no respect sir and you are giving opinion without any constructive critic and without any respect...

In short, you are the ugly gay

  • @RamboLambo002 You say that I've to be respectful? Were is your respekt to me? I've only said somethin about a car. I've never said somethin about a person.........ok mrs. anybody?

  • @RamboLambo002 And by the way I know from your profile, that you are with one leg in the grave (or your brain is in the grave, maybe -.-') but...... I've enough knowledge to talk on a normal way about this theme, okay? Now you have been offensive to me and I've been offensive to you....Now let's talk normal to each other!

  • This fucking guy. THIS FUCKING GUY.

    Is so fucking annoying.

  • 512m looks like shit...they should have kept the old styling with the covered lamps and the ugly back circle lights.

  • @manuntd2009 yes, that's damn right!

  • 1:32 To be honest I prefer the old pop-up lights .-)

  • I like the old Ferrari's better than the new .. seen the new Ferrari FF!! Wow that's one ugly Ferrari .. very sad :(

  • @JaegerLeMaserati There are still some beautiful new ferraris, the 458 Italia for example. :)

  • @Kamma8 Agree on the 458 Italia ... very sexy car! :) ... still theFF is very ugly, the california looks like it's smiling at you and the 612 looks just boring... Ferrari is meant to be sexy, fast and fun ... sexy being a key part of that description.

  • @JaegerLeMaserati I definitely agree the FF is very ugly, but i think it's supposed to compete with the Porsche Panamera, which is even uglier lol! I like the way the 612 looks, but it doesn't look like a sports car. The 458 should give every Ferrari fan hope though, they can still make works of art

  • old is better then new !!!!!

  • Artfull coupe, simply stunnig in shiny red.

    Testarossa is COOL.

  • I would love to see Ferrari bring the Flat-12 back. But in reality, it is better suited to a race car than for the street. To change spark plugs, you have to pull the engine on the TR! It has some of the highest maintenance costs of any modern Ferrari, which actually hurts resale value. And of course there'e the infamous engine over tranny arrangement, which also existed in the Flat-12 512 BB of the '70s and early '80s and plagued the race versions of those cars as Le Mans.

  • I personally think this is the most compelling of the entire TR series. The 512TR is the most beautiful, but I'd want the M hands down. Certainly the best mechanically and the lightest and most track worthy by far. It has a very purposeful look.

  • What is that second italian sports car that is much cheaper and is almost as much fun, that we weren't able to see? A Cinquecento Sporting?

  • I own an '88 Testarossa and suggest McLarenMercedes get his facts straight. Who is the "they" who created this "best Ferrari" list? TopGear ran a viewer poll in England with over 100,00 respondents. Their favorite Ferrari? The Testarossa, over ANY other Ferrari. The 308s and 328s are inferior in many respects, and do not command more money in the marketplace. I simply cannot fit in one. The TR has given Honda-like reliability. And you fix it with wrenches, not computers.

  • I saw and snapped a photo of one of these today. Had no idea what it was until now haha.

  • I don't really like the look of this testarossa..

  • Best of the 90?? Allow me to laugh. This was just an old Testarossa (first released in 1984) with a facelift. Deep down it was in fact the same old chassis and engine first presented in 1971, in the 365GT4//BB (BerlinettaBoxer)

When the Ferrari F355 was released in 1994 it immediately turned the 512TR and 512M model totally obsolete and few buyers opted for that one over a F355

Make no mistake, the flat12 was one of the all time Ferrari great but its handling wasn't even good by 80's standards

  • @McLarenMercedes

Now when Ferrari presented the 550 Maranello (the successor to the 512M) in 1996 they were really onto something.

When they made a list of the 10 best ever Ferraris, the Testarossa is never found on this list. It was a vulgar 80's creation that should have been axed long before by Ferrari.

Today buyers of used Ferraris prefer the 308 or 328 series, as did many contemporary testers in car mags back then.

  • If you put the front-end grill of the 512TR on the 512M, it would have been magnificent!!!

  • I am one of the few that has driven the 512m, I can vouch for it's performance and capabilities. It is one of the best Testarossa's made. The internet is the only place where people say they don't like it, for whatever their reason. I find that very funny, because around town in the 512m, I have never met 1 individual that said they did not care for the car. Everywhere i've taken it, it's been a show stopper.

  • @RacerXGTO You do make a point about people making comments just on the internet. I am not a fan of the Bugatti Veyron's styling, but I would definitely drop my jaw if I saw one pulling up behind me.

  • Testarossa = Good

    512 TR = Better

    512 M ...

    ... = A bit of a downturn

Like peace by peace undressing a supermodel

eand then finding out she has the appeal of one of Hitler his victims...

  • @FrightfulAccountant have you ever driven a 512M?

the 512m was just a great as the 512tr.Excellent handling, and great performance.

  • @hecrpd

Great performance with the eyes of a frog...

  • @FrightfulAccountant well thats your opinion. But I know that the 512 series are great because I've driven them.

  • See where his knees are? I drove a 512M, and I hated how uncomfortable it was. There's uncomfort that I can live with in a Supercar, (no a/c, radio, etc)... but this was purely painfully uncomfortable.

  • is 512m still the testarossa? whats the diff between 512tr and m?

  • @tadomega Compression ratio was different, wheels, exterior modifications, a couple interior modifications. The M had about 20 more horsepower then the 512TR. The M was more refined... I guess. The successor was the 550 Marenello. which had a great racing career. You could say that today the 599GTO is its successor of today. Maybe they will bring the Testarossa name back.

  • Realy didn't like the fixed headlights, nor the new wheels...

  • The 512 is a great car, right up till you try to park it. Maybe Needel could drive it every day, but my two experiences in one didn't give me confidence that I could use it daily.

  • Well Tiffneedel (ex F1 driver) said this car driven at low speeds was pretty heavy on the steering but when you open it up it becomes like a go-kart! He also said you could use this car ever day. Overall a Ferrari you could actually live with. So if I had a choice to take the advice of an ex F1 driver and current racer, OR the advice off some internet turd who has never even driven one of these I know who I'd sooner listen to. It's a masterpiece of design, but the 512M is the worst looker.

  • I've driven the 512m many o'times. The car is simply amazing. One very powerful Testarossa and the most collectable.

  • ugliest ferrari ever.

I love ferraris but this one is just UGLY

  • Rims and front are not my cuo of tea, but the butt is awesome...even better than the original Testarossa and the 512 TR ones, IMHO.

  • How someone can compare tuned granny sedan with this????? OK some tuned cars are really fast, but compare it with this...... please. History, LOOK........ and of course name. Imagine that some girl ask you what are you driving???? Subaru???? WTF

  • I am familiar with Pininfarina designs. This is not one of their best.

    Pininfarina's works of art are:

    Ferrari P4/5 (Awesome)

    Ferrari 456GT (Beautiful)

    Enzo Ferrari (Gorgeous)

    Ferrari 348 (Stunning)

    Cadillac Allante (Italy+American Car=Raw Sex)

Ferrari 288 GTO (All of them are hot).

Ferrari F355 (0-60 in 4.6sec & 5 valves per cylinder. THAT is state of the art design.)

Note that just because I think that Ferraris are overrated doesn't mean that they actually are. I would never buy one though.

  • Except that what you're saying about Boxers doesn't really make too much sense because the qualities to the boxer engine in terms of balance & center of gravity have been negated due to the transmission being UNDER it as opposed to behind or in front of it as it should be.

Ferraris are overrated. This car does a 0-60mph in 4.9secs where a Subaru STi beats that by about 0.4secs under the right hands. An STi also costs about $50K or more cheaper & has symmetrical AWD.

  • bro the sti is a boxer engine aswell

  • Also, the car looks like ass. That is NOT attractive. At all.

  • I guess you misread my comment or didn't read it clearly enough. Guess I have to say it a little more direct.

Boxers engines provide a low center of gravity. However, engine is placed ON TOP of the transmission, creating a very high center of gravity. Not exactly state of the art in engineering.

You can go fast in whatever car you spend money on, not just Ferraris. I'm a tuner, so naturally, spending that kind of money on a car that isn't built by your own hands is nonsense.

  • So let me get this straight. You're paying over $100K to look like ass, reach 60mph in 4.9 seconds (which an STi or EVO can shatter in 4.8 or less), a gas guzzler tax, & poor design with the boxer motor/transmission? Why the hell would anyone put a tranny UNDER an engine, especially a boxer, whose sole purpose is to provide a LOWER center of gravity? No thanks. I'll put about $10-$15K into my Subaru, thrash this thing on the road, & keep it moving. This is definitely NOT one of Ferrari's good 1s

  • oviously u never been in a ferrari...

tell me wat will the chicks want to ride in a sti or a ferrari...i think we all know the answer to that stop hating cuz u cant afford one hahah

  • When you're a tuner, affordability goes right out the window. I could totally care less about this overrated piece of machinery.

It has a shitty design w/boxer being on top of the transmission instead of behind it. That totally disables the low center of gravity that the boxer is known for.

Also, if your car is the one gettin' the poon & not you, then you need to brush up on your game a lil' something.

  • what other car in the 90's was doing what ths car is capable of?

if u wanna compare present day sti with the present day ferrari id say the ferrari is doing pretty fucking good lol i have to admit though sti is a great car

  • If you're talking about 0-60 times, pretty much any high end sports car from Japan was kicking out more than this car did & handled a lot better too for much cheaper than what this cost. This probably is a good car to some but overall, you're really paying for the name. Now if you're talking about the Enzo or the F50...

  • not too many cars can get to the 160mph+ range and if their is for a cheaper price then g for it personally i wouldnt buy the ferrari either unless its a newer model and of course if i can afford one...

id take a 03 cobra for around 30000 and easy get to the 160

  • Cars like F50, Enzo, F40,Zonda,Carrera GT and such doesn' cunt.,...they are exotics...another world.

Cars like this 512M or the 550 MAranello are Gran Turismos...more 'civilized' and affordable (in every sense of the word)

  • @akabane1984

Obviously, you have never driven one of these. Tuner or not. And, your comment on the engine being over the tranny shows that you only have a poor-man's understanding of the car's dynamics. You seem so unknowledgable that commenting seems worthless.

  • Not only do I KNOW that this car's drivetrain is horribly misplaced, enthusiasts also agree that this is NOT one of Ferrari's better handling cars. The boxer layout provides balance but when placed on top of a transmission, than low center of gravity & balance is destroyed & you can imagine the lean that this supposed sports car has in a corner. What's worse is that this horrible layout is behind the car & can create massive oversteer if driven too hard.

  • looks like a replica^^

  • I miss the 90's cars tv shows and video gaming. Good times folks!

  • i wouldn't care if they all vanished from earth its so ugly. I also don't care who its made by. Ferrari damn! what have you done. it can handle, sound, good and be fast. but it damn shore better look good. not like some ugly replica.

  • fed fed bil, må eje sådan en

  • The F512M is so ugly !

    512 BB and Testarossa FTW

  • Oh yeah, forgot. Why the hell would you design a flat 12 engine (obviously to lower the centre of gravity) to then only go and place the gearbox underneath?????????What the hell were they thinging of. The old Lambo V12 has probably a better lower center of gravity due to its gearbox being in-line. Seems crazy to deisgn that engine and then jack it over the gearbox. Only in Italy I guess

  • Transmission was rear mounted...not mounted underneath the engine.

  • Sorry Dude but as far as I know the 512TR and all Testarossa's had the engine mounted above the Gearbox which forced a drysump design for the oil system. The gearbox was definatley not mounted at the rear. Just look at any pictures of the engine bay and you will see that there is no room there for the gearbox to sit behind the engine. McLaren F1 designer and columnist Gordon Murray described the Testarossa as "dreadful", having a centre of gravity "the same as a double decker bus".

  • 512bb was underneath

  • Andrew Frankel states at 2:56 that the gearbox sits underneath the engine in this video of the 512M, this guy is awsome and knows his stuff very well!!!

  • Wow Andrew had hair in the 90's, still a crazy shape though and probably the best handling flat 12 Ferrari ever. Personnaly I prefer this to the later 550 and 575. Bit wide though
