The latter's position reflects the typical sense of Bengali insecurity and intolerance of any other forms of cultural expression, other than that of the so called 'high' culture. Satire does not kill any form of 'high' culture, bongarjit. Just see the English Restoration Comedy of Manners or even the Fool in Shakespeare. Instead of directing personal attacks on Mir or even other commentators, be more tolerant of cultural diversity.

After looking at the original Ritu-Mir face-off, I didn’t get the impression that for Ritu, it was (for him) any form of physical inability. On the contrary, Ritu seemed quite comfortable with it and even mentioned so. Certainly, Ritu talked logical and sensible. So did Mir. The point where Mir took offence is when Ritu disparaged mimicry as an inferior form of art, which Mir should abandon, and try to do something other than mimicry.
