My camera was safely cradled on the dashboard, with both hands on the steering wheel.
As with all the stopped cars along the road, there was no need to stop and ask everyone if they were OK. It was only rain falling, hardly life threatening stuff. The lamp post had barely scratched the bus.
I did stop abeam the blue taxi that was off the road in front of the bus to make sure everyone was all right but all its occupant had already vacated the vehicle.
Waiting for the 7am bus at Pui O on Saturday morning in the thunder, lightning and ankle-deep river that had been road, I sensed that going in to Tung Chung was not such a good idea. Thanks for very clearly showing me what I missed ... thankfully!
My friend, as an engineer, and having watched the rains on Saturday and now your video footage, all I can say is that you are lucky to be here to tell the story!
Yes this is the new portion of Tung Chung Road. That road runs North/South in the middle of Lantau island. This is taken on the North side of the island, heading North towards the airport.
Thanks. Your bike? LOL you are crazier than I am.

Were you driving with only one hand on the steering wheel? Guess you must of been to use your phone camera. A bit bloody dangerous, eh?
With the bus, did you stop to see if anyone needed assistance, or did you just drive on past?

Beleive it or not the drains are huge. There was simply too much rain that day.
As for the lamp post there was enough room to just drive under.

So living in Hong Kong, you should know that even when you succeed in crossing the street on a sunny day you're lucky. So what's your point?

Someone should forward this to the Observatory. To show just what you SHOULDN'T do during a Black Rainstorm warning.........

You are right except that I am an airline pilot and it takes more than this to stop the show...
I arrived 2 hour late but I still flew to Kuala Lumpur and back that day.... once we had enough crew to operate the flight!
