Cool to see my hometown in documentary form--would love to see it expanded to cover a Fairfax event that defines the town, like the Fairfax Festival.....
The Fairfax Festival is one of the many highlights of my childhood growing up in Fairfax. Every year, at the beginning of the summer, I think "Time for the festival!"
I used to live in a little cabin in the middle of the woods off of scenic road. This was in the 80's. There were wild deer running all over the hillside. I loved that place.
so koool. i used to live in & above freakfax & I know Rudy well for decades. If you're reading this. You freakin' ROCK. love to al who love fairfx cali the undisputed center of the universe. And peace to all. twista420 aka timmy da freak
Other pluses-only one bank. Get a haircut ,a pizza and an ice cream cone. Or hoist a few and listen to the band. And you've only walked a hundred paces. Mt. Tam and the Redwood Empire are minutes away. Ain't a bad place to be. Thanks for the post, never seen the film before tonight.
A rural Haight-Ashbury with tract houses - that's Fairfax. I don't know that lady cop personally, but she's way off base calling 'Fax a 50's town..60's is more like it. No more hand-painted psychedelic V-dubs around anymore but the vibe remains. The town isn't just eccentrics, there's a lot of salt-of-the-earth folks here, especially the old Italian families that descend from the people that built the place.

I've lived in the Bay Area for 30 years, have driven by here so many times I've lost count. Today was the first time I stopped, walked
around and fell in love with the place.
What a great town you are!
