Im runnung Desktop Parallel, when i go into spaces it shows me windows 7 on one space and a blue screen on the other block, inwhich the blue screen is Snow leopard.... But instead of the blue screen displaying id much rather the snow leopards desktop displayed as it does in the other block in spaces. how do i do this?
Command, Control or Alt/Option can all be used. You can set up your own preference in System Preferences. Useful if you already have customised keyboard shortcuts in other programs, and you don't want the Spaces keystrokes to override them.
Not exactly "Windows", but you can run a Virtual Machine (via VMWare or Parallels) of Windows or Linux or other OS's in one space, and just keep your Mac Apps in the other Space... I do that, it is very helpful :D :D
hold on.....your saying that running a virtual machine is not running the operating system!!!! Do you know what you are talking about...... first running a virtual machine is basically running the operating system. A virtual machine id the operating system just running while you are running another operating system. There are only a few minute details that are different from running it in boot camp. know what your talking about before you try to sound like you know what your talking about!!!!!!
thats what i do its basically having windows and mac in seperate spaces, especially if you rn your VM in ful screen mode. its fun running mac windows and inuz simultaneously in diferent spaces aswell

Great Tutorial. I was hoping Spaces concept (from Linux/Unix) would be coming to Win7 but alas its not. Reason for hoping for it in Windows?: I do tech support in Windows with 15+ windows everyday. So my Home machine this spring will be an Apple Mac.
It wasn't just linux, virtual destops have been around for all platforms for years. Apple has just made a new implmentation of it and it is alot more polished and useful. I have ubuntu and have tried virtual desktops even with compiz and still prefer Apples spaces.
I often have several internet pages open @ the same time. Do you know how I could open spaces to load these different windows. When I try to put safari in more than one it changes and doesn't allow.
wow, Linux had that way before Leopard version of X even came out... looks like someone = Apple is stealing ideas 'round here. Don't believe me, type: "Compiz fusion" in the search bar and just play the first video clip.
u are god! love it.... this is my first mac and i have no idea what to do with it now. just got a new mac air! but dont know how to really use it.....lol
