I have a decent 02' S60 2.4T. I am fixing that baby up. After that, I might trade it or sell it for a better S60, but S60R.. since the performance is a little better and modification/customization shouldn't be too hard.
thats true something could be wrong the awd had a defect in it and i never knew till i took it in for service then when i got it back which was 2 days ago it drove so much different
The tail will drop slightly mate and you do get torque steer for a seccond or 2 and till the haldex kicks in as they run with 90 percent of the power to the front, when a wheel loses traction it sends 30 percent to back and 70 at front, i'm faily sure thats correct as this is what i've read up on
No, you'll barely feel any torque steer in a normal S60R. Haldex kicks in almost immediately and under normal circumstances you really won't notice this.
The tail will barely drop if it's in Advanced mode (the tail will stiffen preventing the nose to lift; this is a feature of the FourC-system when it's in Advanced). If you try it you'll notice it very well. Comfort mode doesn't have these special 'racy features' as far as I can tell.
plus I see you live in sweden, you should dislike all non-european cars ,especially a honda civic, and be proud of volvo(at least their pre-ford models)
lets face it ,you get a lot more with volvo(haldex awd system,four-c active chassis, dem 4 piston brembo brakes, etc) even if the civic is faster in a straight line.
racing? I don't see you racing with anyone but the camera is so god and the stability... and i love the S60R. Where do you put the camera? Have a nice day

Civic is lighter "granted" but it will not be faster than the S60-R civic type R is just short of 200 bhp
volvoali 2 years ago
Your nose lifts when accelerating. Your Haldex AWD may be defective. You should not experience much nose lift and especially any torque steer.
Btw it does seem slow here, not even that much faster than my S60 2.4 140bhp. You might wanna take your car into a Volvo garage.

It's the AWD, it can zap some serious power.

Damnn.... I'm about to buy one of these but it looks slow as shit! Im still going to though
Drkadrk 3 years ago
@Drkadrk
It's far from slow. If you bought it, and it was a 6spd, you would know exactly how fast these cars are. Automatics suck though.

Honda Civic! what a joke! The Ford Focus ST is far better. But VOLVO rules all. You just don't get it.

Ok lets face it. whats fastest, s60r with the t5 engine or a honda civic with no interior and the t5 engine.
The weight difference is like 500 kilos.
