Next generation large distance air-to-air-missiles like the European activ-radar-navigable RAM-driven superfast MBDA-Meteor (for Typhoon, 2014) in combination with extern AESA-AEW&C-aircrafts can unstealth and intercept the F-22 easlily. Then stealth does not longer provide protection. And even the second shot kills first.
e.g.: B-2 spirit with estimated radar-cross-section of 0,05m² will be detectable with E-3 Sentry with RISP-upgrade in distances of 312 km. Finally radar wins the race.
@cyberOwwwOecho Sure the missile technology is there to track and kill stealthy targets, but currently the radar and tracking systems aren't. RAF pilots have even noted that they will see the F22 visually long before (if at all) their weapons systems even register its presence. Good luck getting close enough to an AN/APG-81 equipped F-22 to deploy munitions, you'll likely be engaged at BVR before you even have the chance to respond. That is why the F-35 and F-22 are so dangerous.

@01101111omg No, the Rafale is part of the class "4 + +", while FA/18 is part of the class "4". The Rafale entered service in 2001, 18 years after the commissioning of the F/A18 ...
@01101111omg are you sure about this. f-18 more for naval use and it is old. seems after india picked rafale brazil is looking very close to get ia sa is switzerland and maybe several gulf states. and why is this -- f-35 late and expoensive and over hyped. f-15/1618 too old now. so it is rafale vs typhoon and typhoon very expensive and no way near multi-role
@rostant999 The F-35 is out of the question because of its price. The F-18 is old but is being upgraded constantly. Brazil has a relatively small air force while its navy is one of the worlds largest. The F-18 would integrate much more nicely into their navy. Also if you look at the two companies Dassault and Boeing, Boeing is much larger and is better suited to maintain and repair these airplanes.

@PlaneAU If you understood the context in which that video was taken you would understand what was going on. It was a standard USAF training exercise in which the dogfight initiated WVR, with the T38 at the F22's six already. Also keep in mind the pilot was a ROOKIE. Not to mention the fact that the F-22 CLEARLY was not trying to evade.
@AeroSharkTech There was little suprise that Typhoon, with its world-class agility and high off-boresight missile capability was able to dominate "Within Visual Range" flight, but the aircraft did cause a suprise by getting a radar lock on the F22 at a suprisingly long range.
@AeroSharkTech The F-22s cried off, claiming that they were "unstealthed" anyway, although the next day´s scheduled two vs. two BWR engagement was canceled, and "the USAF decided they didn´t want to play any more . When this incident was reported on a website frequented by front-line RAF aircrew a senior RAF officer urged an end to the converstaion on security grounds"
@SamuraiQuester Yes, another report from a MAGAZINE that involves undisclosed event dates, unidentified "officers", and unconfirmed locations. Funny part is, if any of this was true Euro Fighter would be making a huge deal about this to boost exporting potential. But they, like the real RAF, have said NOTHING of the sort and don't even acknowledge that this "event" ever happened. Even the RAF discounts IAP Magazine for being full of shit. Nice try though kid.
and then it went to maintenance bay for the next week. lucky there were no enemy planes around else it wold have to supercruise the hell out of there. this plane will never see combat because that would show the world how useless it is and what a scandal the amount of money spent on it was. but f-35 will make everyone forget about the f-22 by being a bigger more costly flop. and the end result in about 10 years time is the usa will no longer hold air dominance for the first time in decades.

@rostant999 cause ur country suck, stop crying cause canada never fucking matters. canada is a pile shit and i could careless of what u don't do or do. We have the f-22 and u don't and ur airforce is pathetic just like ur country.
@stolly27 Before I get started Im American.Canada is not a pos country their air force also isn't pathetic. @rostant999 F-22 doesn't work as advertised? You're right, it works far better than the specifications given to Northrop/Boeing and Lockheed in the 90's. The avionics (what's declassified at least) in the F-35 are currently better than the F-22.
@rostant999 Citation need on the f-15 shooting down f-22 (according to war games, it's actually 9-10 f-15's shot down for 1 f-22). It's actually roughly 10 hours of maintenance per flight hour (pm me for source, can't post links there).
Nice clear little vid of the worlds best air superiority fighter..yes the F-22 is much more capable than just an air to air fighter..it has many strings to its bow.
Huh? Only one country has a Gen5 fighter in production and in the air. Thats the F-22 and its only flown by the USAF. The F-35 isn't in service yet (but will be soon) and that will be two Gen5 fighers in the air. The T-50/PAK-FA doesn't enter service until 2016 the EARLIEST, and the Chinese Gen5 fighter? LOL.
@EvilxMerlin the U.S air force is 3 times the size of chinas and russias put together. our navy is larger than the next 13 navies combined. those countries strengths and techs are peasents compared to the U.S
Just because the US government cancelled the remaining production of the raptor doesn't mean the manufacturer piled the blue prints and had a bomb fire. This thing was designed in the 80's. Today, if the US government said "build me something that will not get exported", You would shit your self to the final product!!!!
@buddacafe If I understand the procedure correctly, the US government will have all the molds and other specialized tools used to build the F-22 destroyed once the last plane has been built and there is a pile of spare parts in stock. This is to make it harder for anyone to reproduce a similar fighter.
the Raptor project got shut down due to the jets being too expensive and built during a time of relatively peacful relations with foreign countries. the F-35 Lightning II has replaced Raptor as a more cost effective and overall better fighter due to its ability to make vertical take-offs
Lotsa people diss on the F-22 being overrated but it will do just fine with its stealth tactics and being used as it was meant to be used. Am okay with congress okaying a few more of these for the USAF.
LAFB Hampton VA Spent last summer there every wed. a test pilot would take one up and show off, every wed. I stopped what i was doing and watched in amazement truly a bad ass bird!
@Willix2100 It's all classified but I suspect the Raptor top speed is somewhere between 1600 to 1800mph. Those engines are more powerful than we're told and because of the stealthy design, the F-22 has a super-sleek skin. This also contributes to the overall gains in speed and acceleration. But time will tell. Again - it's all still secret.
So I heard you're living in the 90s. The PAK FA could take on several F-22s at once. Also, they ARE no longer in production and very few remain in service in the USAF, fucking dumbass. They would be better suited as bombers, not fighter jets, because guess what, they're useless in combat. I admit they would be good at boming runs, though.
@ShadowRSonic the pak fa can't do shit, it's not even in production. the production limit of the f-22 was capped at 187, guess what they're ALL in service, not to mention there are several countries asking the US to sell them f-22s. russia is decades behind the US as usual
@fsrodolfitocarlos Why do you think the American military doesn't need the space shuttles any more, and used the last missions for public relation bullshit to please the 'Peaceniks of the world. And to get into their space facilities just for GPS spotting for the new unmanned crafts. The S-400? Launch one for practice an see that its fate will be just like that SLBM 'Russian submarine (which exploded alright, by onboard weapons). Right!!
@ShadowRSonic this dude shadow here trying to flame the raptor, thinking his country king shit. meanwhile his country prob trying to scoop what raptors they can afford from the us. LOL gotta love it. sorry shadow these raptors are limited edition and you aint gettin' any. =] probs to the OP for being from UK and posting this vid with enthusiasm for the greatest fighter jet ever built.
Nope, I understand that since WWII Britain fell behind in fighter manufacturing, but what I am doing is saying that the F-22 is useless compared to the PAK FA from Russia. Also the F-22 project WAS cancelled, very few remain in service.
@ShadowRSonic dude the pakfa is a counter-jet to our raptors, you dont think we forsaw that? the raptor was designed to be easily upgraded and modified as need arises over the next 50 years, just as im sure the pakfa will be. but this totally ignorant statements you make like... "useless compared to pakfa" LOL @ U... fuckin clown u r, u r a tool bro, TOOL... guh'bye
@ShadowRSonic also you talk like weve made 200 f-22 raptors and cancelled the project then sent them in for scrap metal... LOLLLLLLLL. we have HUNDREDS of raptors..although not as many as ide like, this is not "VERY FEW"...... secondly, YES the FUNDING has been cancelled to the production of MORE raptors, this is because of the lefties in power in the USA that believe we should not even have a military, nevermind be building 150 mil fighter jets.. we will build more in due time thoug.. CLOWN lol
@l3lackMambal nope were building F-35s now and we've sold a bunch of the F-22s to Germany and probably other European countries. also the F-35s engine produces 43000lbs of thrust its the most pwerful on a fighter jet ever.
Yeah, we're buying 50 (Norway). The price is ridiculous^^ Oh, and we need to build a new airport for them... should have gone for the gripen or eurofighter, but the politicans are bought and paid.
But by all means, the f-35 is, technically, probably great
@blowj10 First of all, NO COUNTRY EXCEPT THE UNITED STATES has the F-22. It is not available for EXPORT TO ANY COUNTRY. Germany has the Eurofighter. Countries such as Australia, Israel, and Japan have asked for access to the raptor, but until the Congressional ban on exports is lifted, the F-22 will only be operational in the USAF - that's the way it should be. Secondly, production was halted at 187 aircraft, but the plans and tooling for building them were kept if they decided to build again.
@Aquilis182 Not trying to be an ass, but what's your point? I knew they've been operational. I was saying that they will only be operational in the USAF, and not in any other air force.
@Theethruth It's more for defense really...it's how I see it, but yeah your right...when it stops being weapon of defense for the American people or what ever nation that uses it, and starts being a tool for some alternate agenda of a government then I would call that misuse of power & weaponry

Just because the US government cancelled the remaining production of the raptor doesn't mean the manufacturer piled the blue prints and had a bomb fire. This thing was designed in the 80's. Today, if the US government said "build me something that will not get exported", You would shit your self to the final product!!!!

NosferatuAaacaado 6 months ago
@buddacafe If I understand the procedure correctly, the US government will have all the molds and other specialized tools used to build the F-22 destroyed once the last plane has been built and there is a pile of spare parts in stock. This is to make it harder for anyone to reproduce a similar fighter.

the Raptor project got shut down due to the jets being too expensive and built during a time of relatively peacful relations with foreign countries. the F-35 Lightning II has replaced Raptor as a more cost effective and overall better fighter due to its ability to make vertical take-offs
KnuxMaster 7 months ago
Lotsa people diss on the F-22 being overrated but it will do just fine with its stealth tactics and being used as it was meant to be used. Am okay with congress okaying a few more of these for the USAF.

I read somewhere that this can go 2,120 km/h (1,317 mp/h) at top speed !!!
Willix2100 10 months ago
@Willix2100 It's all classified but I suspect the Raptor top speed is somewhere between 1600 to 1800mph. Those engines are more powerful than we're told and because of the stealthy design, the F-22 has a super-sleek skin. This also contributes to the overall gains in speed and acceleration. But time will tell. Again - it's all still secret.

The F-22 is useless in combat and the project cancelled.

@ShadowRSonic useless? bahahaha sorry it's the most superior jet in existence and it's not a project you fucking dumbass piece of shit
AdverbAdjective 10 months ago
@AdverbAdjective
ShadowRSonic 10 months ago
@ShadowRSonic the pak fa can't do shit, it's not even in production. the production limit of the f-22 was capped at 187, guess what they're ALL in service, not to mention there are several countries asking the US to sell them f-22s. russia is decades behind the US as usual
AdverbAdjective 10 months ago
@AdverbAdjective decades behind as usual? yea ok... they are so late that they dont even need the pak fa to get in the air thei S-400 would take care
fsrodolfitocarlos 9 months ago
@fsrodolfitocarlos Why do you think the American military doesn't need the space shuttles any more, and used the last missions for public relation bullshit to please the 'Peaceniks of the world. And to get into their space facilities just for GPS spotting for the new unmanned crafts. The S-400? Launch one for practice an see that its fate will be just like that SLBM 'Russian submarine (which exploded alright, by onboard weapons). Right!!
bodacious2109 7 months ago
@ShadowRSonic this dude shadow here trying to flame the raptor, thinking his country king shit. meanwhile his country prob trying to scoop what raptors they can afford from the us. LOL gotta love it. sorry shadow these raptors are limited edition and you aint gettin' any. =] probs to the OP for being from UK and posting this vid with enthusiasm for the greatest fighter jet ever built.

@l3lackMambal
Nope, I understand that since WWII Britain fell behind in fighter manufacturing, but what I am doing is saying that the F-22 is useless compared to the PAK FA from Russia. Also the F-22 project WAS cancelled, very few remain in service.
ShadowRSonic 9 months ago
@ShadowRSonic dude the pakfa is a counter-jet to our raptors, you dont think we forsaw that? the raptor was designed to be easily upgraded and modified as need arises over the next 50 years, just as im sure the pakfa will be. but this totally ignorant statements you make like... "useless compared to pakfa" LOL @ U... fuckin clown u r, u r a tool bro, TOOL... guh'bye
l3lackMambal 9 months ago
@ShadowRSonic also you talk like weve made 200 f-22 raptors and cancelled the project then sent them in for scrap metal... LOLLLLLLLL. we have HUNDREDS of raptors..although not as many as ide like, this is not "VERY FEW"...... secondly, YES the FUNDING has been cancelled to the production of MORE raptors, this is because of the lefties in power in the USA that believe we should not even have a military, nevermind be building 150 mil fighter jets.. we will build more in due time thoug.. CLOWN lol

@l3lackMambal nope were building F-35s now and we've sold a bunch of the F-22s to Germany and probably other European countries. also the F-35s engine produces 43000lbs of thrust its the most pwerful on a fighter jet ever.
blowj10 9 months ago
@blowj10
Yeah, we're buying 50 (Norway). The price is ridiculous^^ Oh, and we need to build a new airport for them... should have gone for the gripen or eurofighter, but the politicans are bought and paid.
But by all means, the f-35 is, technically, probably great
libbern 8 months ago
@blowj10 why would we sell them when there are no more in production and the only ones in service belong to the united states air force?
hawkplaya94 8 months ago
@hawkplaya94 don't ask me why were selling them, but i read that we've sold 20 or so to Germany
blowj10 8 months ago
@blowj10 First of all, NO COUNTRY EXCEPT THE UNITED STATES has the F-22. It is not available for EXPORT TO ANY COUNTRY. Germany has the Eurofighter. Countries such as Australia, Israel, and Japan have asked for access to the raptor, but until the Congressional ban on exports is lifted, the F-22 will only be operational in the USAF - that's the way it should be. Secondly, production was halted at 187 aircraft, but the plans and tooling for building them were kept if they decided to build again.
pennsforest04 6 months ago
@pennsforest04 The F22A Raptor its already operational scince december 2005. The 27th TFS in Langley AFB, Virginia have them.
Aquilis182 6 months ago
@Aquilis182 Not trying to be an ass, but what's your point? I knew they've been operational. I was saying that they will only be operational in the USAF, and not in any other air force.

@Theethruth It's more for defense really...it's how I see it, but yeah your right...when it stops being weapon of defense for the American people or what ever nation that uses it, and starts being a tool for some alternate agenda of a government then I would call that misuse of power & weaponry
