Growing pot is rather complicated. Either you want to be really into it, or not do it at all.

In your case, you have to plant it and tend to it daily or just often. You need a lot of starter equipment, which I'm assuming you already have. Give the plant a realistic schedule; 12 hours of light, and 12 hours of darkness. Temperature and humidity are important factors of the quality of your marijuana, aswell as the origin of the seeds.

Generally, it's just down to a few basic steps, if you are careless of the buddha's quality.

1) Germinate your seeds

2) Plant the seeds

3) Tend garden and whatnot

4) Pick buds, dry/cure.

5) Consume, Repeat.

@madjimms depends on the light cycle... if you leave it on 12/12 then the buds will probably get mold growing inside them after a while, then the plant will die anyway as its only designed to live one season (year)

If you switch the lights back to 18/6 then it will revert back to vegatative growth and stop producing bud. Some growers will pick most the bud, then revert it back to 18/6 to keep the plant alive longer, and can swap it back to flower again later.

@madjimms if you dont want to harvest it, you can keep it alive in vegatative mode forever in theory, but in reality, the older it gets, the more likley it is to get bugs and disease.

As long as the light is kept 18 hours a day, the plant thinks its summer and stays in veg, it wont flower (bud)

When the light gets shorter... 12 hours a day, it turns to flower mode to make bud. after than you can swap it back to veg mode by taking most its buds and changing the lights back to 18 hours a day

@madjimms but most growers wont do that, because its easier and more efficient to take clones from the plant and grow them up. The clones are exact genetic copies of the mother plant, started fresh.

@madjimms yes you can harvest most the buds, leave the smaller ones, swap the lights back to 18/6 to put the plant back in to vegatative growth. Its called re-vegging

Its more efficient to take some clones from the plant before you turn it to flower, then when its finished flower, you harvest it and your clones have grown enough in veg mode to be turned to flower. Its slower to re-veg and the plant becomes more vunerable to pests and disease as it gets older. In nature they are designed to live for only one year.

@madjimms theres 2 methods. 1) you keep a mother plant alive in veg mode all the time, and take clones from it as you need them, then grow the clones up and harvest them and kill them. or 2) You grow your plant in veg mode and just before you swap to flower mode, you take some clones from it to keep as the next generation, and then flower and harvest and kill the original mother plant

@madjimms I would take clones from the plant, then put it in to flower... takes 8 weeks to flower, in that time your clones will grow up in veg mode. When your flowering plant is ready, harvest and kill it. Then put your grown up clone in to flower. You will need 2 grow spaces, because the flower and veg lighting is different. The clones will only need a small area tho. take a few clones incase some die, just keep the best one, kill the rest

@madjimms if your plant has seeds, the bud is ruined... you only want female plants so they cant get pregnant from a male and seed up. Males make weak bud and make nearby females seed up. When you start to flower, they will show their sex, any males are killed right away. Once you have a nice female, you make your new clones from it, all its clones will be females. they will be genetically identical to the mother plant. you wont have to worry about males once you have a mother plant.

@madjimms you dont want to make seeds, you want to keep it simple. you could get a male and female plant and get a heap of seeds, but they will be shit seeds that make shit plants, plus you wont get any bud of the parents. you should understand plant genetics to make seeds, they carefully select the strongest plants from hundreds of certain strains to breed to get the best plant genetics in the seeds. its complex and best done by professional seed banks. If ya want new plants, clone ur best one

good video. about lowering power ck this; induction grow lighting has the highest lumen p/watt of any lamp watch the indagro youtube video then visit the website. you can also get a ton more general indcution info from elsmfg.com under the educ res tab. be aware though there is a diffenent phospor blend between an induction grow light and one for general area lighting. good kush yield @ 300 gr p/mtr & 30" penetration. very impressive and i've been growing for alongg time. cheers
