Read the document that is the 'Rule of Law', and then understand the nature of everyone in public service having to swear an oath to the Constitution. i as many other have been investing in gold / silver or mining shares with the understanding that the economy was not sound and the potential for great loss exists so we dumped paper and hardened up - and Mr.Celente is operating like nothing is wrong - still in paper of all kinds and thats fine -if he wants that -so be it -but i am not sure his words carry the same weight - now he is just another smuck that got taken - i wish he had done as he preached - i like Mr.Celente - he can still change

@cassanoa He may still be in paper, but he's locked into contracts most likely. The amount of money he'd lose might possibly be more if he chose to annul those contracts earlier than taking a mafia style money loss hit. He's no dummy. Just like the 401k/IRA holders... they will take a hit and never have seen it coming. They think they own a retirement when, in fact, it's all controlled by the government. They won't see it and maybe won't live to see it.

i don't know quite how to say this so it dos not sound like i beating up on celente - i understand he feels like he got pants-ed but for some one like me who walks it like i talk it ( all in gold and silver like we say ) hearing him say that he still has IRA-401k-played the paper gold market - leaves me somewhat confused as to whether he had his heart in this - the fact that he still engaged in such operations and was not fully in gold and silver and related assets speaks to his commitment

@500ounces Good for you. I never even started a 401K. I was always investing on my own, and I got out of the dollar a LONG time ago. Unfortunately, it's been hard to convince my friends and family to do the same, but I was at least able to convince my mother to get all of her money out of the dollar.

what if your money is in Singapore and country (kind of a dictatorship currently) is overthrown or invaded? Would you go there to try to retrieve your money on account? The safety of your assets is in inverse proportion to how far away it is, and in proportion to how disbursed, how hidden and how liquid it is. Much more but those are most important. after your money in, say, Singapore. $10K and having to report overseas accts was a quick law just like carrying over $10K in cash overseas was a law proposed and passed in a week. Whose to say congress wouldn't pass law saying NO overseas accts giving investors a month to repatriate money? ANYTHING is possible today. I prefer assets close and hidden. think outside the box. Many assets. Bulk liquor, tools - you can "invest" a million dollars pretty quickly that remains legal! AND wanted!

Be careful re moving money overseas. IRS form 1040 requires reporting all accounts TOTALLING over $10K overseas AND pay taxes on it. VERY difficult to hand carry money yourself which means wire money. Wire means having to use same crooked banksters like Paulson and Corzine. Not all crooked but who knows? Best countries keep changing. WAS Switzerland then Caymans - now Singapore. No FDIC protection etc. Have close financial friend in country you choose. Give power of attorney to look after
