  • WOOT SAME COMPUTER! *CHEERS!*

  • Even if your computer is running a 64 bit OS with 16 Gb of ram today's max virtual addressing limit is still only 48 bits! So unless you have some serious hardware powering a whole damn skyscraper a computer will only ever use about 3 gigs of that ram. So don't waste to much money pounding in extra ram your hardware can't even use.

  • @twiggynothing thrust me if you play hardcore games you'll need about 6-8 gigs at least

  • @B1gHe4d I do agree with you more is almost always better! what I was trying to say though is if you have allot of ram make sure your operating system can use it all. for example windows XP is a 64bit OS and can't possibly use anymore than about 3.1 Gigs of ram.

  • @twiggynothing hmm yeah forgot about xp and vista since i use win7 :P

  • @twiggynothing

    wrong!

32 bit operating systems are maxed out at 3.25 gb's of ram

on a 64bit operating system you can put in as much aas your mobo supports

  • @thedest1ny WRONG you can only have 64 gig of ram on a 64bit sstem

  • @TheQSClan2010

no man from where did you get that information from

  • @thedest1ny hes right and rong

  • i had that same computer before but i got rid of it.....way too slow

  • @IProKaZ you want something bigger and better buddy! trust me :D

  • lol i have 512 and it runs everything just fine. i found my computer(s) at my local computer dump and fixed the, they work just fine. no need to spend 30000000000$ for a new computer when all i do is clean it and get ubuntu or some other distro on it.

  • im sorry i have have 12 gb of ram XD

  • i have 18 gb of ram XD

  • i have 8gb's of ram in my beast

  • @cymanite1 i have 8 too woohoo

  • @xXiMPACTHDXx its great aint it! ^^

  • mmm i have 2 slot of ram

  • me 860mb

  • Video moves too fast, and the guy's meaty hand blocks the view too much. If you're going to make a "how to" video, it should be done with 'those who have no clue' in mind.

  • I have the EXACT unit and it came with only 256k of ram...I upgraded it with two 512 mb sticks of pc133 from centon and it worked perfectly. The computer is really quite fast even on boot..only takes just over a minute to use internet...considering this unit is a decade old that is amazing...of course since i had it from new it has been maintained well and I have kept the registry in good condition and only had one minor virus that was removed in 2006 never causing any serious problems...

  • i have 896 MB or RAM and i want to play Crysis 2!!!

My RAM can suck my balls, i can't play any god dam game for sheeeeeeeet

  • Hi, i have a hp it has a amd dual core RAM, and only have 2gb of RAM. is that a rimm RAM or a dimm RAM?

  • I have a slow computer with only 1 GB ram. And my brother has a computer almost the same as my computer (not 100 procent the same parts i think), but he dont want to have the computer so he is selling it to me. Can i just take the 1 GB ram out, and put in my own, turn on the computer, and it will now have 2 GB ram? Or does it have to be installed, or something els to think about so it will work? thanks

  • @Learncountriescom i just bought 8 gig of ram on ebay for $132.00....GO THERE.!!!

  • great job

  • i got an old Compaq presario intel (R)

    celeron (R) CPU 2.66GHz

    2.67GHz,248 Mb of RAM

can i put a ram bar ive removed from another old compaq computer???

  • @Julitroid depends if its ddr 1 / ddr 2 or ddr3 and also the clockspeed of it and what the motherboard supports

  • i have 4gb Im upgrading to 8 probably

  • "The computer now has 256 MB of RAM"

lolol. yayyyy I can now play pac man!

  • fucing crap video can't see shit quaility sucks

  • Most likely wont get a reply as nobody posts replys on this video, but give it a try... So i got ddr3 ram that runs at 9-9-9-24 latency and speed of 1333mhz. If I buy same speed, but latency of 8-8-8-21, does that mean the one I buy will go upto 9-9-9-24 when used together? Also... is it dumb to buy faster latency ram and use them with slow latency ram?

  • @crazyspooks10 Here is a reply. Your a noob

  • @HeyThereVeleno troll the internet more. FEED THE TROLL!

  • i have 3gb of ram

  • I have 4gbs of ram. c:

  • @VvEinarvV lol i have 1gb

  • @iseeboxer Haha. My old computer, or the one my mom owned but i used. XD Had 512 mbs of ram xD. But 1gbs is ok.

  • @VvEinarvV Grats. I have 12.

  • october 07 of 2006 hmm

  • I have an HP with 512mb of Ram with only two slot both being used. Now I would now want to upgrade to 1GB, can I install a 512mb and keep the 256mb memory as well?

  • @GingerNuts99 No, you're obv are going to have to take out the 256mb ram already in there in order to put in another 512mb of ram to make it 1gb considering you only have 2 slots.

  • @SteelCity1981

could i use a 512mb and a 256mb instead? or does it have to be two 512mb chips?

  • @GingerNuts99 it doesn't matter you can use 512mb and 256mb as long as they are the same memory generation for exp DDR1, DDR2, DDR3 etc...

  • lol I just put 4GB in and I had 4 before....wow! 128mb....must have been a really old computer

  • RAM memory? its just RAM it stands for Random Access MEMORY

  • lol, i have 0.99 ram. ????

  • he show how to change but with out safe he dump!

The fans don't turn on either and the light stays green, can you help me please

  • @RaiseTheUnderground You probably fucked everything up with static electricity, I'm guessing you didn't properly ground yourself.

  • i have 512 mb of ram

  • @13sk8mafia so what is big i have too

  • 1:02 to 1:10 is like hes entering an old cave and pushing the spider webs aside.. and finding an ancient relic called 128MBs of RAM.

  • i have 8gb :3

  • @ifartnaked you lose the lie

  • @TheMahiya what? its not a lie

  • About the only thing that piece of shit is good for is if it were being used to prop something else up, or as a doorstop. Custom building is the way to go, not the store bought pre-built crap. HP can go choke on a fat dick and fuck off.

  • Remember when Computers with 64 MBs of Memory were like 3 grand? LOL esp laptops,,,64 mbs and 3500.00 dollars,, now you can own a 6 gig for around 800.00 LOL

  • 128 mb? -_- what is this 2000 or 2010? xD

  • This looks really simple BUT I have no button to pop the equipment out so I can't get to the motherboard. I have an hp pavillion 7680y media pc. If anyone knows how to get to the motherboard, please let me know. Thanks!

  • If yu hve 1 gb ram on a old comp thtz pretty gudd buhh lower then tht is kinda slow

  • Stop showing off how much "RAM" you have..... nobody freakin cares!!!

  • Hi, is there a reset button on that PC?

  • i have 4 gigs of ram not too much

  • @slicer302 sweet...i have 256 mbs...if i open more than 2 tabs my computer freezes

  • @c64c64c64 Theres so many variables when it comes to computers, One can have 256 and freezes and another can have 256 and be just fine, depending on whats all running,( Processes) due to whats set up to start on Start, what operating system ur using, spyware, adware, trojan ware,, all can be factors i guess! Correct me if im wrong !

  • @Dreambro1 i've since added another 512! :D it runs quite well now...i can open up to 8 tabs before it freezes...editing videos is still a massive pain in the ass, but its a bit better

  • @c64c64c64 i had a computer with a 270 gig HD and 6 gigs of memory and it STILL had problems with videos!!

  • @Dreambro1 lol...well..i'm hoping to take a computer course this september to work out all the internal bits of the computer, so i can build a computer purely for editing videos LOL

  • i have 3,25Gt, is it ok for gaming or shoudl i uprage it ?

  • @conorpolo slow speed internet. haha

  • Im planning on getting a comp with 8gb of ram the adding another 8 for 16 gb

  • I have 512... I find that I actually need more O_o Well, I do use my PC mostly for gaming, so...

  • Here is another motherboard. ptgd vx what is the manuf. website for it. please help.

  • My pc doesnt have a release tab for the drive cage can anyone help me please ???

  • i got 512 mb ram i added 1 gb more and on my systeem staying 512mb ram ???? bad genlish ----- help mee!

  • maybe the two modules got in conflict. try using the new 512mb alone to confirm that the module is working fine, if not send back to warranty substitution else you made a mistake trying to install by yourself a memory module: it's still a leave-to-pro work!

  • many factors can cause this

-Is it the right type of memory

-Is it in the right slot

-is it seated in the slot fully

-has it worked before on another PC?

  • yes Gcatalin96, they make 2gb strips

  • im having only 2 slots and my computer is 3 years old... i think i cant get more than 2 GB of RAM, can I ? some1 reply

  • You may have accidently released a static charge onto your new ram...

  • i put a new ram card but it still says 700 mb of ram plz help

  • i have 224mb, im defintly upgrading soon!

  • Hi guys id need a little help. Can i use 333mhz ram in a motherboard that satys 533mhz to 800mhz?

  • dont forget this video is three years old ;) thats why its so bad RAM... most ppl only have 512 average.. now days there is like 2-4gb average

  • i have 1gb

  • Hahaha

    I have 10 GB of DDR3 RAM

    and windows 7

  • @mega160 why would u need 10gb ? ram unless u game on your pc

  • 1- To future proof it

2- To play high end games

3- Sometimes I run 40+ Applications at the same time

  • why so many?

  • why didnt he ground himslef -? how do you ground yorself amigo

  • I have a computer on the dresser in my bedroom, in pieces without a case, beside my laundry. Turning it on and off involves me poking some jumpers with a screwdriver.

    Proper grounding is for wimps!

But seriously, simply touching the metal case should be good enough.

  • wrong again my young padowin soon you wil be trained in teh ways of grounding yourelf but untill that time i will surpass you

  • I have brought shame to my ancestors :(

  • yea nice misspelling of padawan

  • twat

  • lol calm down im only correcting you.

  • Cool. A touch-sensitive on-and-off-mechanism.

    You should patend that.

  • lol you'ze a fool hahahah

  • thanks

  • Just wondering: How much does Bestbuy charge if they install it for you?

  • pretty shit pc u got there

  • build your computer chicken!

  • Hey! My dad has that computer! :D

  • Wow you had a bad ram and now an even worse one.

  • when you put in in ram do you have to unplug all the wires on your hard drive?

  • Yes man you'll get electrocuted

  • As long as you stay away from the power supply, you're not going to get electrocuted.

And if you do mess with the power supply, beware of the capacitors, which can shock you even when the thing isn't plugged in.

  • You don't have to unplug anything, unless it's in the way and you need to get to whatever is under it.

  • If looking for great products for less money try outlet pc you may be amazed at there prices and exellent service

  • pny xlr8 1gb graphics card

    720w enermax power supply

    6gb ddr2 memory

all that is in my hp desktop that is just a little newer than that one lol

  • Thanks so much for posting. I was about to pay the GeekSquad $50 for installation, but after watching your vid, I did it myself. Yay...

  • 128 mb RAM to 256 mb RAM.... HOW CAN U LIVE WITH THAT??? I HAVE 504 mb RAM AND ITS SLOW AS FCK!!!!

  • Maybe that PC model can't take more RAM. Well, I guess.

  • I hear ya reginaldwong1,

thanks to this vid, I just added a gig to my old 512. 512 is the Granny-Walker of memory.

  • i have like 520 and it is slow as FCK!!! 2 !! lol

  • me too haha

im getting a 1 GB tommorow

  • hmmm wow i must have a fast computer cuz i used to have 256 mb of ram until my uncle gave me a gig and i installed it today. but its pretty fast and im happy with the results lol

  • SOUND?

  • 256 mb ram...lol i have 4 gigs ^-^

  • hajajajajajajajaja

  • Can anyone tell me what kind of graphics card would work in a HP Pavilion 780n?

  • Doesent matter really.Just may sure you have a big enough powersupply(enough watts) and make sure you have the right expansion bays(where you put the card in)

  • i bet they play a bit of world of warcraft down at nasa with those computers, lol

  • Hey my brother told me to watch some vids of how to and stuff.

He also told me you need to be touching a radiator when holding the Ram? Is that necessary?

  • lol no.

  • well i learned the hard way, there is a risk if your not holding somthing metal that there will be static shock and the ram will be owned,

  • i didnt, and everything went fine.

  • yeah, it's a risk and unfortunatly I wasn't as lucky as you xD

  • i asked my brother if i can upgrade the ram on my pc and he said that i need to get the bios, what does he mean?

  • you need to see what memory your computer uses and howmuch memory it can have

  • How do you know how much memory your PC can have? What's the difference betwen DIMM and RIMM?

  • It's impossible to have 40 GB of ram lol, that's his hard drive space.

  • LMAOO @ 40Gb

  • Pro computers like NASA and all that have about 250 GB of RAM lol

  • they need that much ram tho, cos of the simulations they run

  • exactly. i think the NASA computer has like 100 000 petrabytes of storage and two terabytes of RAM, because of the stuff they process

  • typxalimo my computer has 248mb of ram and you should be adding more yeah right

  • i just upgraded mine from 512 to 768 mb

  • 100 MB RAM UPGRADE? ROFL.

  • in the words of Homer....

    WooooooooooHoOOOOOOOOO!!!!

  • typxalimo your using way to much ram and no disk space so put some of the ram to disk space

  • I have 40 GB RAM, is this good or should I add more? Sometimes my PC gets slow and I also get the pop-up 'low disk space', what do you guys think?

  • thats not your ram thats your harddrive

you have 40 gb harddrive and you probley have

about 512 mb to 2 gb ram

  • this will void the warranty right?

  • nope.installing ram doesnt.

  • Question: I have a compaq presario and it has 512mb of ram and the ram cards are dimms. Can those rams be taken out and replaced with larger ram cards without losing any of my personal files and data?

  • Yes sir you can replace those and not lose your files. Your files are stored on your hard drive. Ram is temporary storage that is only active while the computer is on. Replace them with no worries man!

  • Thanks a lot. I replaced the ram cards and my pc is supercharged now!

  • PMSL 256mb some people crack me up

  • lol

wow he did such an upgrade huh xD

  • when i install my RAM

my computer turns on but the monitor doesn't

    what should i do?

  • LMAO 256mb , I'm getting 8GB on 64-Bit Vista

  • cool. October 7, 2006

  • Comment removed

  • i dont think 32bit supports 4gb of ram or more...not sure though

  • Agent youre right. 32bit XP and Vista do not support 4gb and up. But 64bit XP and Vista do. :]

  • XP 32-bit only supports max. 3/3.5GB while Vista 32-bit supports max. 4GB RAM

  • thanks but its ok now am on win 7 - 64 bit w/8GB of ram n it works great thanks

  • You are using win 7 as a main computer? Win 7 is still in beta, isn't it?

  • Yes, but it's already more stable and WAY faster than vista. I have it in a VM, running smoother than vista running the VM xD

  • does anyone want to buy two 1g ram sticks, (so 2g of RAM) i bought 2 many yesterday and they wont let me return them, please message me :)

  • he is hot !!
