Okay just to say the tenth doctor he looked like he actually came from gallifrey not looks but like I picture the doctor on gallifrey and see him not any other doctor it weird
every time i hear this i feal the bigest joy ever, this is my happy song. it reminds me of how mutch i miss Martha, Donna, Jack and Rose. seriously, I miss the old series... :( plus the beauty of the music... im simpely speech less.
This music isn't just for Ten lovers or Classic Who-ers, because this is the planet that our Eleventh Doctor came from as well. This is the planet that a lonely little boy called Theta Sigma grew up on. He's come a long way.... but this is still in his heart.
"Do you ever miss it?'
"So much."
This music - it should bring all Whovians together, don't you think? The vastness and gorgeousness of this piece is there, no matter who you ship, no matter who "your Doctor" is, no matter classic or new.
This song is pure epicness. David Tennant, and all of the companions during his time as the Doctor did such a brilliant job, as did the writers, but I sometimes forget how EPIC Murray Gold is. Every single song I've heard for the Doctor Who soundtrack is breathtaking.
This is Gallifrey. This is MY childhood, MY home. Frr the Doctor, his companions, and all the whovians out there, this will always be our childhood, our home...
I do not watch Doctor Who, I know about it only the facts my sister told me. But when I listen to this, I feel so sad that Gallifrey has been destroyed.
My friends - are not Whovians - and they ask me, "Hey Pond, what kind of music do you listen to?" They say they listen to Lady Gaga and Nikki Minaj and Justin Bieber. (Personally, I don't know who those people are) And I say "Murray Gold. I usually listen to him and Benny Goodman. They look at me and say "Who are they? What kind of music do they play?" and I say "Orchestral." Those people, don't know what ACTUAL music is!
@kaizoisevil No, haha. My name is Amy and I have my friends call me Pond because of the glorious Amy Pond. Haha. It would be quite cool if my name was actually Amy Pond though. :D
I love this piece so much! Especially when the Doctor is reminiscing about his childhood to Jack and Martha, and they've got the beautiful scenery of Gallifrey and the towers and stuff, and it all just seems so beautiful. This music is all emotion wrapped up into one :)
whenever I think about the last few seasons of DW and the fact that he is alone it reminds me of what Barbossa said in pirates 3. "the thing about being the last of something is that at some point it will end and there wont be anymore of them"
This is the best music I've ever heard!!My sister is mad about docterwho and plays the music all the time .I used to get anoyed whith her but when she played this I dindn't want her to stop!
11th doctor isn't crap as you say, he is the same as every other doctor, including the 10th, and im even making a video to proove this. And in my opinion, the 10th doctor was far to romantic to even play the doctor. 11th doctor is far better then any of the others...in my opinion. He shows all his emotions like david did but just fits in better then him, and suits the part too. David was good, but not as good as Matt xx
@kerrierose1 I agree. Tennant is a great actor but the 10th Doctor was far too human to be the Doctor, 11 can barely even comprehend social situations, and he acts like an alien, all the while with intense emotion when it's needed. Matt Smith was born for that role. I really liked when 10 was going insane with power though.
Hail the Doctor. A fictional character, but a hero who has inspired generations and brought smiles to our faces, tears to our eyes and taken us on wonderful journeys of the imagination with his magical machine.
Hail Murray Gold. A genius composer who made the world of Doctor Who come to life through his brilliant music.
Hail David Tennant. You will missed. Yet remembered.
I never imagined it possible for an idea of a place to evoke such emotion, it's an absolutely stunning piece and a completely beautiful tribute to the Doctor's home in all its glory and pain.
"On the continent of endevour upon the mountains of solace and solitude there stood the citadel of the timelords. The most might race in all the universe, staring down on the galaxies below. Sworn never to interfere only to watch. "
This is such a wonderful track. It gave me an adrenaline rush the whole way through, and it really influences your emotions. I think backing tracks aren't as appreciated as they should be, when they make up so much of a performance.
From his descriptions of the planet and this music, I can imagine images of him growing up there. Running through the forest with silver leaves, watching the suns rise, him just...being happy....its very moving. ;^;
@FullmetalShortOne Actually, the Doctor was never happy on Gallifrey. From an early age he wanted adventure and travel. And then Sexy stole him and ran off... He only realised how much he loved Gallifrey when he had to destroy it. That's always the way, isn't it? You only realise how much you love something when it's gone... :'(
This song is breathtaking. Pain, joy, majesty, beauty, all in one song. A perfect memorial for the Time Lords who watched over the Universe for millennia, never interfereing, never using their advantageous technology against other life forms. RIP Romana and the Good Time Lords! (Yeah that's right, Rassilon - FUCK YOU!)
its so emotional wen the doctor talks bout galifrey bcuz he had a family wife child maybe children its just the music trys to understand his anger sadness + confusion of what happened i luv doctor who especially david tenant
