Yeah, I agree.... This wasn't the "death ray". The ship in this video doesn't appear to have the same superstructure. I could be wrong, but my brother served on the USS David R. Ray and I've seen many photos and a few videos and this ship doesn't appear to be the Ray.
I have learned that this wasn't the Ray; it was the Fletcher. The Ray was sunk earlier this month by more than 500 5-in shells and 1 RGM-84 Harpoon missile fired by the USS Lake Erie.
I was on the ray from 86 to 87. She was a hell of a ship.

Still sad, she was my first ship too (1991-1995).

If that was indeed the Ray, that was my first ship, 1982-1984. Sad to see her go.
