i agree w/ freddie - probly never be another voice & showman as great as him ever, i was lucky 2 see queen twice as a teenager - one of my best shows ever!!!
Andrew Wood? David Lee Roth was a better frontman. And who the fuck is Shannon Hoon? Never heard of him, but as the name Blind Melon came up and I came to this site from your channel it all became clear: this person only listens to a handful of bands. Oh well, opinions will clash.
@nonyafukkinbizniz David Lee Roth, as much as I love him, is overrated. And the fact that you never heard of Shannon Hoon shows that you are in fact the one who only listens to a handful of bands. I listen to more bands than most people can count. So, instead of sitting behind a computer screen thinking you know everyone in the world, just worry about yourself and your own opinions, or know what you're talking about. Thank you.
@nonyafukkinbizniz "Get you"? At least type proper English. And you're telling me to go listen to one of the best bands of the 90s? One of the best musical bands this world has had? Well, I have no problem doing so.
@TheLyricsLegend Well someone's a bit snippy !!! If you're going to write arsey replies, you are going to get some back. Listening to Blind Melon is like sitting in a room freshly painted in magnolia and watching it dry: if the fumes don't get you, the boredom will !! (see, that's my opinion which you're not going to like!)
Freddie Mercury: great performer. Andrew Wood? I really don't know much about him other than the song Chloe dancer/Crown of Thorns which is great. Mike Patton, 90's?
@nonyafukkinbizniz Your opinion is fine. Everyone has their own opinion. But, when it comes to fact, there's no denying the great band Blind Melon was. They were much more than "No Rain". The Soup album alone has the potential to be the greatest 90s album.
Now, at least we agree that Freddie and Andy were both good. Andy died before getting the chance to be even better. And Shannon Hoon was on the direct path to stardom, then he died.
@TheLyricsLegend Ok, I take back any negative comments about Blind Melon as I've hardly heard them and therefore have no right to form an opinion so quickly ! I will make a point of listening to some. Interesting site: encourages some good debate. Axl Rose as a frontman? Ok, a tantrum-throwing knob at most times but when on form gave a great performance (if you can get past the whiny voice) !
@nonyafukkinbizniz Thank you. That's all I'm saying. I would never criticize a band I never really listened to. And of course, Axl is (well, was) a great vocalist. Just because he acts like a middle school student doesn't mean he's not a good vocalist. He just isn't my personal favorite frontman of his decade.
Interesting fact: Shannon Hoon and Axl were friends and Hoon did backing vocals on "Don't Cry".
@tutuvo10 Nope, you are incorrect, brother. But, nice attempt at thinking you know it all. I'm just curious about who you would pick? It's all opinion after all. All the frontmen I picked are fantastic, so I don't know what point you are trying to make.
@lowgeemudbone Trust me, I love Vedder just as much as the next guy. Especially with me being a big Mother Love Bone fan and Pearl Jam forming from their ashes. But, I do like Blind Melon better than Pearl Jam. And although both Hoon and Vedder are great frontmen. I think Shannon had more going with the stage presence and being crazy and his movements and dancing during the music. This is all opinion, but regardless, Vedder is also a great frontman.
@TheLyricsLegend the 70s are hard to pick.their were so many grat frontmen ...but freddy is a great choice.what a stage presence.and that voice is heaven sent !
