@galesx95 Yes but again, its virtual. It is no where near the quality of a real 5.1 or 7.1 surround system. Headphones just cant do surround no matter what. those "real" surround headphones with 8 drivers are terrible overall. Don't expect an experience like real surround sound system, but do expect a better experience when watching movie and playing games.

@galesx95 I have the Razer Carcharias and I love em. For the price it is extremely well build and provide amazing sound quality. Very comfortable as well. Only downside is that it is an open ended headphones, you can hear everything around you and around you can hear sounds coming from headphone. Never tried Corsair headphones though.

@galesx95 This guy doesnt know what he is talking about. Comparing the Carcharias to the 7H and 5HV2 is not fair. I have both Carcharias and 7H and they both perform very well. His complaint about the terrible soundstage is not the headset's fault but rather the soundcard he is using. 5hv2 and 7H has built in soundcard as well also with virtual surround. If you dont have a good soundcard then get those, if you think ur soundcard is good enough then go for carcharias.

Best headset I've owned. Very comfy. May feel heavy if you have a smaller head etc. 7.1 virtual is brilliant for BF3. You can move the virtual speakers around in the utility program for better sound. Has profiles for games movies and music which you can change. Only has USB do only works for Pc

I just got these. Plugged in the USB and then installed the newest software followed by a system restart. The audio that comes from them are really bad. Feels like the bass is cuted off on some sounds, way to much mid/high freq's, and the soundquality is really crispy and just plain bad. It was the same with the audio when i tried CS:S. Way to much treble. Is there something wrong with my headset? I have Bypass ON and Equalizer OFF...

This headset is a piece of shit. I did buy it and returned it. The base is non existent and the headphones are pretty uncomfortable. Your ears do get very hot after 10 minutes. I changed in this headset for the Sennheiser PC 360. An expensive headset, but definitely worth the money. The Sennheiser PC 360 is a far better product.

@KpopEnglishVersion They are pretty similar headsets, but the corsair is much simpler to install. In terms of sound quality, the TBZ6A imo has a slightly better sohnd quality, but its almost unnoticeable while playing. They are both the same!

I RMA it and got a new one and it broke again. Razer Megalodon is very good and the logitech G930 is probably the best but it's wireless and pricy.

There reason there is no driver disc inside the box, is because this headset is PLUG AND PLAY.

no its not plug and play. the driver can be downloaded at the Corsair website on the product info page of this headset.

on the bottom of the page ,there's a link in small letters:)

there are some complains however about people having conflicts with windows drivers or nvidea driver and the videocard.

@Popsicky 4 i dont think so. the operating system on the consoles is just very different. just like mac and PC are different . the Logitech F540 has a special USB hub to make it work on a PS3 or xbox360. i think you need something like that device and the right driver support and cables.. besides, i hear nothing but bad stories about this headset on google. many say it has a crackling sound in games. and its not comfortable after long play. the Logitech is better anyways.

Some need a Driver, others will use a standard driver that came with windows install or windows update..

This headset uses a standard driver that is already in windows.

but seems to have issues.

I hate standard plug and play devices that uses a outdated windows drivers.

That is a disaster always with other new drivers.

However, there seems to be a updated driver for download on the Corsair website .

7 speakers and usually 1 woofer

7 channels are volume controlled by amplifier, the woofer has its own volume controll so 1 channel is without the main \amplifier.

@ImmortalUniverse He's probably referring to something like "Tritton AX Pro 5.1" or "Psyko Audio 5.1" type of headphones, which use multiple speakers inside each ear cup (or as in Psyko's case, speakers located in the headband and sound travels through special sound wave guides, "sub" channel speakers located in the cups itself. Pretty interesting concept if you ask)
