@GreenBeardsRevenge Madonna has reinvented herself at least a few times, and therefore contributing to her longevity. This song is less than stellar. Debbie had maybe 2 good albums,Madonna has had 5* as many good albums.
@Man18Colts-There is a difference between reinvention and carefully tweeking a public image. I would say this album was a bona fide reinvention. I guess what's good is in the ear of the beholder. I mean Rolling Stone's list of the Top 500 all-time songs includes three Debbie Harry penned songs (she got robbed with Dreaming and Rapture) and one Madonna penned song. Different people, music, eras, etc. It's possible to like them both.
@Man18Colts Madonna had 3 good albums and one okay one. Combined with Blondie, Debbie Harry has a lot more good albums. Madonna's recent music is just awful and she looks gross. While I am a huge fan of her 80s music, she should stop trying so hard to be young again.
OK, you're gorgeous. Anyway, I bought "Call Me" on 45 in '79/80, and I've thought you're great ever since. I'd love to put you in a film/music project of mine.
I bought this album when it first came out & thought this was the strongest song on the album but it never really did that well on the Billboard Charts! weird because it fit for the times. Oh Well...Thanks for the post krichlands!
This is fanfreakintastic. I've always loved Koo Koo and seeing the videos from it is really wonderful. Why doesn't Debbie get better Promoters. Chris Stein said if any of Debbie's albums said Blondie instead, they'd be super hits, sought after and promoted. They're just as good as any Blondie album.
"The order came directly from the C.I.A.....go ahead, now, go ahead, now.

Mastercorder: this was 1981. The band Blondie began before 1975. "In the Flesh" was 1977. Just sayin...

It's not after Blondie it's 1981, she did a solo album.

Debbie Harry look a hell of a lot better than Madonna and Madonna is 51 and Debbie is 62 or 63
Tim777G 2 years ago 6
Madonna and other fading lessers could certainly take some advice from Deborah Harry on aging gracefully.
Deborah still has pinache and class while Madonna, sadly, slogs along attempting desperately to be act like a 25 yr old.
Who would you rather listen to and watch???!
