Thank you, Anthony! These vids get me so jazzed -- I'm definitely planning on getting some Lamb's Quarters down and am shaking my head at pulling so many dandelions the last time I was up at my house. One question: what does hemp butter taste like??
I'm glad you share so many tips about greens, they are so important, but a lot of people are afraid of them. Thank you for showing just how good they can taste. Great job, keep it up! Peace, and blessings be yours!
Your videos are so informative! Thank you for sharing them. I was wondering if you eat any animal products at all? Milk, yogurt, fish? And are you concerned with parasites such as intestinal worms? I've been told that non-cooked food, such as spinach in a green smoothie, can contain them. Should I be worried about this?
I occasionally eat free-range organic eggs. Not because I feel like Im deficient in anything, mostly because my girlfriend likes them and its pretty infrequent.
Non-cooked meat will give you much more problems than non-cooked vegetables. If you wash your vegetables, and grow them cleanly, you should have nothing to worry about. A big of food-grade hydrogen peroxide in your rinse water will eliminate anything else.
This too is what I have been experimenting with lately: wild greens and superfoods for an astounding energy smoothie. Apparently Chinese Elm leaves are edible, sooooo...I mix the leaves in a base of Pau de Arco tea which is naturally sweet with a slight vanilla flavor. Also, I throw in an apple or orange, bee pollen and a little spirulina and....celtic sea salt. Sometimes, I use coconut cream. The petals of two large roses are lovely tasting as well; right off the bush. *drooling* thx
Anthony, about lambs quarters, read Wikipedia: "The leaves and young shoots may be eaten as a leaf vegetable, either steamed in its entirety, or cooked like spinach, but should be eaten in moderation"...
I think you would have to go REALLY crazy to have any negative effects. It isnt even bitter, so there really arent too many alkaloids as far as I know.
And its really seasonal, so I wouldnt be too worried. Let your body feel it out, take it easy at first. Be careful and take responsibility for your health everybody!
Anthony, I don´t know that plant, I just red the wikipedia article, and if they say that it should be eaten in moderation, they must be a reason I don´t know. But there is a reference you can consult.
One thing I tell you: alkaloids, even poison usually cannot be detected. Just be careful with the plants you eat. Not only health; diseases and death are also part of Nature...
Hey ;-) ... you looked so excited about the hemp butter, hehe... with your big wide open blue eyes... very cool. I'd like to plant some lambs quarters around here,... not sure where I can find it wild. I'll check if anyone sells seeds somewhere. And yes, Manitoba Harvest is a great company, ... used to buy their Hemp protein powder not long ago. Excellent vid, btw. Take care man ;-)
Very inspiring. Thank you for sharing.

Hard to explain...very nutty. It has a strong flavor though, not like cashew butter or almond butter. Its worth a try for sure.

i definitely agree with kale throwing off the flavor..i've heard much about p90 and my friends make fun of me for doing turbo jam but it's great fun!

manitoba harvest....or just make it with a food processor.
StrawberryBigMac 2 years ago
True, but they add lots of good oil into it. Its not just seeds.
For preservation, butter is the way to go. Totally amazing product.
