Now when the optical engine goes, youll know it, if u start seeing blue gel forming on the edge of either side of the screen, call wherever u bought the tv from, someone will come to your house and replace it for free. If your warranty expires after 5 years, the optical engine will cost you $1,200 , and thats just for the part, never mind the labor. I already had that done to my tv last year.

oh i seee it now, yea its a 70. I had to replace the lamp thats located under the screen. Did u replace yours yet?/ they last about 3 years. Then my optical engine went inside the tv. SONY was getting alot of complaints on this and they extended the warranty to 5 yaers from the original 2 years. So had that fixed for nothing. The lamp is common, thats something we have to pay for. So im under warranty until 11/09 but ill have a 65 ich flat panel by then.

wow really?/ well i hope its still running good. If one day your tv starts turning off and on by itself, that means its time to replace the lamp. the lamp is easy, u can do it yourself. If u sit on your couch you should be able to see the lamp lit up under the silver panel thats under the screen. The lamp goes for $200. Youll have to call SONY have them send it to you. its cheaper if u buy direct from them. If u go to a store, they will charge you more.
