  • the cheap head was nasty...the sound it made...

  • God....this animal I would back in a fight against almost any other similarly-sized opponent.

  • Joking: It's a Drop Bear.

  • These advertisements are retarded to reality.

  • Is this a prehistoric predators episode because I know someone who can upload the whole episode

  • @BrontoSmilodon1 It's a seperate documentary on the extinction of the megafaun in australia. But the effects were made by the same studio.

  • @ceitiosaurus I already know that now

  • @BrontoSmilodon1 It was a show called 'What Killed the Megabeasts' or 'Death of the Megabeasts' depending on where you live. It's about 2-3 hours long and only one programme.

  • Hey where can i get this on DVD? I've been looking for the longest

  • I believe there is a fair bit of evidence of thylacoleo predation on fossils that would of made up thylacoleos prey. i.e clear evidence on fossil bones of thylacoleo dentition. Agreed this is not absolute evidence of a predatory carnivore but for it to be reasonably abundant in the fossil record suggests that thylacoleo munched on a lot of bones.

  • bite may be strong, but it does not mean it is a meat eater. If one check the skull of a panda, it may think it is a big hunter also. The skull looked like it has only few teeth. They can kill but how can it strip meat off animal body and bones?

  • @userkc No the diet of animals is determined by bite force, and the dynamics of the teeth, you see fossil jaws of thylacoleo suggest that it's teeth were worn over time. Meaning it probably ate meat. And the dentition of pandas pretty obviously points to herbivore.

  • I want to see this in a zoo, meat eating koala :O

  • It's an extinct animal !

  • I know! Thatswhy I wanna see it in a zoo, This guy is awesome, Extinct animals rule!

  • @Doomguyking that's a good analogy, they were closely related to Koalas.

This creature was probually more of an ominvore that ate tough plant fibers as well as meat when times were harsh.

  • Seriously they used a sheep's head?

  • Try looking in google try "Bone Diggers" on Nova PBS

  • Where can I buy/view this show? It's driving me crazy!!!

  • AAAAAAA, somebuddy post the full show already

  • a giant rat :P

  • rats are placentals

  • A marsupial lion looks very dangerous..

Dangerously delicious next to some potatoes and corn.

  • 1:47 Damn, that is some impressive technology. Humans are intelligent in some ways, but total retards in other ways.

  • u just called urself a retard ha

  • that is some technology.

  • yeah but how do they know how much pressure one of those lions could actually produce with its muscle?

  • Yeah right how do they know the pressure that lions can produce in every bite...

but honsetly speaking i like the scanner...^_^

  • i don't know how but for a croc,it just bites something and then they measure so i guess they do that as well

  • Maybe they use the skulls shape to estimate the amount of jaw muscle it had.

  • but they dont know how much pressure the muscles could produce, without hurting the loin or breaking something

    its still really cool though

  • They did, I saw it on catalyst like five years ago

  • the background music sounds like the batman movie: dark knight lol

    epiccc

  • wtf

  • A nine-foot kangaroo with the ferocity of a lion? Sounds like my grandma, meaning I could take it out with a single leg sweep and throat thrust.

  • i love watching these theories so interesting!

  • I think a bronze marsupial skull is epic for an antique.

  • i cant believe this actually happend in real like.. haha its kinda one of those things you have see to believe and i saw but im not sure i believe it.. but still its amazes me lol,

  • lol whats with the extra sound

  • Looks like beaver's teeth.

  • Check out the holes at the side of the head where the muscles go. Massive.

  • When that guy was purchasing the sheep's head to bring back to his lab he stopped for a second and wondered, "Is this a bit much?"

  • shiiiivvvver, that noise when it was chomping down on the sheeps head! yuk xD

  • omg totally

    :o scary

  • Fascinating :)

  • OMFG the eyes are looking at me!!!

Why dont they take the eyes out!!!

  • cool...wish aussie still had them

and that bronze thing is madd

  • rules 1 and 2

  • scary and pretty

    wild life sooo exiting

    will make a lovley pet

  • damn! that's one awesome marsupial!!!

  • Twice as hard? Of course the bite was twice as hard. Animals had to be tougher back then to handle their time period's prey. Everyone was tougher in the past, humans included.

  • i dont agree

    maybe before humon where made

but i bet that their live where boring

  • true

  • What so Bears, lions, tigers are cute and harmless? Ever tried to touch a wild Koala, your blood would be everywhere if you did.

  • Lol, They should look up "Woman Mauled by a Polar Bear Berlin Zoo" on YT.

  • Animals are all very amazing in their strengths today. But they had to be bigger and stronger in the past.

  • just make sure the Koala is stoned on leaves first!!!

  • But the leaves gives them super powers. Then you will be very scared.

  • nah... the leaves of the eucalyptus tree (which they live in and eat from) actually get them high. the fatty acids in the leaves contain something close to thc, but only a tiny amount. A human could not eat enough of these leaves cause it will make you very sick and could even poison you. but koalas love it and eat lots of it!

  • a rat can do that

  • Muy interesante.

  • 1st!

  • t. rexes bite force is higher

so is that one of predator X

  • that sheeps head was just 0_o

the strength of that kitty/rats bite was just 0_0 x2

  • Those "rapid protoyping" machine are awesome. I wish i had one. haha

  • ROFL.

It might cost u alot of money though xD

    Few ten thousand bucks.

  • poor sheep ... still got eyes attach...

    *BRRRRR*

  • The elusive 'Buck-Tooth-Tiger' !!...

  • man i wouldn't want to be bitten by this thing :S

  • it was a big rat

  • That bronze cast thing is AWESOME!

  • Fascinating

  • that technology is sweet

  • that's really amazing, just wow. I wonder what else prehistoric animals could do that the animals today can't?

  • its because there are no more marsupial lions today and prehistoric animals wee much stronger than those today ^^

  • chuck norris would fuck that thing up

  • old joke is old.

  • go back to /b/

  • no thanks

  • yes welcome

  • He already did, thats why it went extinct.

  • rainskullvids: if other "cool" animals still existed for a longer period of time, some of us wouldn't be here D:

    anyways..

    POOR SHEEP!

that better have been the leftovers from a sheep used for meat for people to eat or something.

  • ew that sheep's head was gross :(

  • my god

  • a female lion has a bite force of 1000 lbs? well there goes my imagination of me freeing myself with my bare hands.

  • LOL. i always imagine myself sticking my fingers in it's eyes to get free. Not now though, i think i would be to busy screaming as it tears bits off lmao.

  • random comment

  • they prob did the experiment with a lion before, so the results should be proportional.

  • All the really cool animals died off way too early. :(

  • LOL We still got Monkeys and rhinos lol

  • But... but... DINOSAURS!

  • well that was very interesting =]

  • Same animeultrafan, they look amazing.

  • ok if it is made of bronze how can this experiment be accurate? and how do the scientist know what the bite pressure of this animals was, like in #'s per sq inch. i don't get it.

  • Yeah I was thinking about the same thing...how are they measuring the pressure its a puzzling to me.

  • To madskizophrenik--------

They use a force gauge. I think that's what they call the device. Theyre rig is kinda like a pair of scissors. But, instead of just razor sharp ends, they put in the Cast of the skull and jaw. As you put force on the one end, equal force is exerted on the other. The force gauge measures that force.

  • i know, because bronze is not the same as bone so 1000lbs could break its head so wtf right?

  • They can't. It's always an 'estimate'. As has been proven many times, science is guesswork combined with common sense and statistics derived from other live and intensely researched creatures. Basically it's a guess based on what they know about creatures today and nothing more. They know nothing about it's muscle structure, only that it 'could' snap a sheeps neck, well, so can a zebra...

  • maybe the devil put the bones in the ground to deceive us....jk god did

  • this time it is rather poor guessing. i think if my skull was made of bronze and had a machine power for substituting my muscle power, i can produce 1000lbs too.

  • Wow, what predator. I wish I could travel back in time an witness one of them.

  • I always say that too! lol

  • I know imagine having one as a pet.

  • No doubt related to the thylacene.

  • this experement is not valid. the jaw closes with the lower jaw moving up, not BOTH upper and lower jaws closing, plus the skull was bronze, not bone.

  • That rapid model making machine was really cool. I wish I had one of those.

  • its just a giant rat.

  • yeah a giant rat that can chomp off ur dick

  • OMG! 02:42 Listen to the crunching sound of the sheep's head collapsing under the humongous pressure of the marsupial lion's bite.

  • Lol... that was kinda gross but funny.

  • tenth!

  • Lmfao stfu

  • That thing looks creepy I hope I don't have nightmares XD

  • awsooome, and the sheep eye was ekkieww

  • Looks like a mean beaver skull.

  • huh, so it was a flesh eating kangaroo?

  • wow....

  • thats interesting. at first, i thought it might involve kangaroo boxing o.O

  • wow that was great....and how they made the skull from out of lasers..which age are we living in? the laser age?

  • the almost everything is possible age

  • lol good 1

  • lol

  • cool
