  • Man so much gas..... That is will be expensive over a long time :(

  • @codmw2profi Very much so! My best average MPG has been 26.6 over 400 miles. My worst has been 6.6 MPG over 70 miles, lol.

  • He used 1/8 of a tank of gas

  • That's an extremely impressive first gear launch for the first one. I was up against an older modded WRX in my 335i and I couldn't shake it. These things are fast, and what a sound!

  • Wish I had the longer gearing in my 06.

  • @Kevosnow Same here...car falls on its face when you shift into 5th...1-4 are beast though...haha!

  • nice clean shifts dude. The STi is an awesome car.

  • @DanPL72 Thanks, Its funny that some people dog on my shifting as being too slow. Then some people see it for what it is. A smooth quick shift that is not trying to bend shift forks.

  • Nice shifting

  • 4.8 nice. Now what about the 1/4

  • Spool the turbo at 3500 for a little longer before you drop the clutch, you can do 60 iin under 5 easily.

  • Fuckin love my subaru!!

  • @sergsrt8 You forgot to mention how "the STI's engine will go BOOOM after 2 years" and how he shouldn't be getting a good 0-60 time because "the car will break".

  • that awd get it to 60 fast, but it really trails off after that. needs more boost. still a great car, but a v8 would just keep pulling.

  • I dumped my clutch at 5k, OMG, think I did 4.5 sec

  • i am curious abt the gas mileage of sti in normal driving situation... i really want a STI as a second car.. but damn.. turbo .. hope it not as bad as the H6 i have on my other car

  • @hellfire6333 Should be better than H6. Stock STi get 19.6 mpg city and 22mpg hwy or so. If you go with a good stage 1-2 tune, you can get 20mpg city and 26-28mpg hwy.

  • @HellTriX its nice, but actually for stage 2 i thought it would be faster, 5 sec to 60 & 8 to 80 isnt fast enough. since its 2.5 Turbo

my 207 Le Mans its 1.6 Turbo around makes records very close to you.

the new 208 GTi from Peugeot is much better when you have it as stage 2

even the Megan 265 BHP the Hyundai Genses Sirocco etc

    subaro and evos have competitors

  • @lemans207 Heavy car this 2011s. This one with myself, fuel, audio system is around 4050lbs. 3740 lbs showroom floor with no fuel. Add 70lbs for moonroof which mine has.

The revisited vid is much better, and the currenty tune is even better than that one. 409 ft/lbs and 364hp. It really scoots now compared to this video. But still, an earlier STi with 45hp less would keep up with me due to being 500lbs lighter.

  • How much fun is it to drive and how do you like it, I am thinking about getting one?

  • @R26nitro250 I think the only thing funner to drive would be a super exotic car.But then after a few weeks, I'd want to drive the STi for more comfort and feasibility of driving.

  • @HellTriX

hey thanks a lot , great video

  • How Much fun is it to drive I am thinking about getting one?

  • wow the second gear is really short, should attest go to 60 not like 58

  • @CASSINOx Yes. if and when I need to rebuild the transmission, I am changing all the gear ratios. Will have taller 6th for more economy and top end speed. I really wish I could change the final drive, but I don't think I am willing to have custom ring/pinions made just yet.

  • okay thanks man appreciate it I'm from nj i was gonna see if i could check your car out cuz i wanna see and hear the mods i wanna do to my car before i put them in lol enjoy your car bro :)

  • ya i feel like it would take forever for me to do it just because I've never done such a thing before. the only thing is doesn't the sit gauge only go up to 20lbs? and btw where r u from ?

  • @Januch009 Yes the stock gauge goes to 20lbs, I've seen it read accurately to 22-23lbs, just have to estimate where the marks would be on the gauge if it had them. Not sure how the gauge is going to work once I'm at 28psi.

    In Washington near Portland Oregon.

  • @HellTriX Wait so you live in Vancouver? Thats awesome i live there! and when you accelerated at first i thought you were speeding the camera up, but this thing is incredible

  • @leoonfire95 Yeah most people think that. The speedometer literally can't keep up with first gear acceleration. Especially if you launch and the tires themselves go from 0 to 30 mph in half a second before the car really starts to scoot.

  • ya thats what i thought i just got mine priced to be installed for 500 and the part is 230 soo annoying u know of any good aftermarket ones that are cheap? where does the gauge even hook up too lol cuz i wouldn't mind doing i myself

  • @Januch009 The stock SPT gauge uses a vacuum hose that goes through the firewall. That is a major undertaking I honestly don't now how they do it in under 3 hours. I once fished a wire though that same hole they used and it took me over an hour for a simple wire. They put a T fitting in the wastegate tube I do believe for the vacuum reference. In my 2009 WRX i used a Harbor freight boost gauge with hard plastic vacuum tube. It worked, but the boxer engine made the gauge needle rattle onceawhile

  • what boost gauge is that and how much did u pay for it?

  • @Januch009 Stock SPT boost gauge. Got it free with the car :p

To have one dealer installed its close to $400-500. The gauge itself I think is around $189.

  • Dude u had problems with you motor? Isnt this car fairly new?

  • @sergsrt8 Just a number 4 ring landing. Its pretty common and its the only weak point in a Subaru STi. Had it replaced with wiseco pistsons and now the whole car can be pushed to 650hp pretty reliably and safely.

  • @HellTriX are the pistons forged? and how about the rods, crank, etc. will those part be able to handle 650hp?

  • @sergsrt8 Yes forged wiseco pistons. The rods and crank, etc have been known to be good to 600-650 hp levels. The heads may not flow enough to reach 600-650 hp though. and can't rev stock heads much above 7500, usually around 7700 before valve float. The stock bottom end with forged pistons can do around 8000-8200 before reliability is a concern. Oiling becomes a problem above 8500 usually resulting in engine failure if you don't do oil system changes including new crank.

  • @SirWillamsleys are you sure Sti is made in USA lol

  • all stock even shift light

  • Are these clusters stock? And what about the gear light?

  • how fast will it go

  • @pointyspider4 About 175mph at 7150 rpm in 6th gear if the tires are fairly new.

  • if you want this protune a wrx and it might be close

  • gotta rev it out more on take off ;)....thats why i don anyways lol

  • Thats slow.. must be the humidity

  • @lukegranger89 yea blame it on humidity bitch! go back to maken rice pattys

  • @ransferd You do realize the STi is built in Lafayette, IN, USA right? It's a more American car than the current Camaro

  • @ransferd It's spelled *makin, if you wanna use hickbonics... Your Mustang will do 0-60 in 5 seconds, 12 seconds if your 900lb bitch is in the car with you... LOL

  • 3 seconds slower to 120mph than my Golf R (with a Revo stage 1). Check it out:

    Golf R Revo stage 1 0 - 120mph (airstrip run)

  • @BelfastCol69 Check out my latest video, about about the same acceleration to 120mph now. Only a little more tuning was done.

"2011 Subaru STi acceleration revisited 0-60, 0-120 mph" It was posted as a video response in this thread.

  • @HellTriX Just checked it out, a bit more lively :o)

Its great acceleration. My launch was soft so may do another but dont want to cook the clutch to much!!

  • @BelfastCol69 Yeah on that last one I didn't really launch it hard since I been spending too much on tires lol. I have more tuning to finish after I change a methanol injector, but its cold and I been lazy lol.

  • @HellTriX Can you not just get a remap (like I did) and give yourself 330 - 350hp??

  • @BelfastCol69 Its been remapped several times, the the HP is currently around 330whp, but the torque is closer to 370ft/lbs. The problem is the turbo run out of steam on these 2.5L engines in the upper RPMs. So with more torque than HP, I just make my shift points earlier than 7,000 rpm and it does pretty good. But this STi has an extra 500lbs than your Golf R. At around 6000rpm to 7000rpm the injectors are maxed out and the AFRs are stable, so need more fueling to get more HP.

  • @HellTriX Yeah I noticed you shifting early so presumed you had some serious torque!! Just checked the stats and you're right, the STi is a lot heavier than the Golf which surprised me!! I would have thought a Golf was more solid than a Scooby but no!!

  • @HellTriX Walbro 255Lhr HP??

  • I think the base WRX pulls faster to 60 (in 4.7s) than the STI simply because it doesn't have to shift to 3rd, but the STI will catch up above 60

  • Very nice video, and an amazing car!

  • Not sure why but the stock Sti ver 9 seems to much faster than the ver 10.

  • EVO X will get trashed by this beast

  • If I didn't have a 350z I'd be all over an Sti, rwd is too much fun

  • @ZzZzZzNiteNite When i unlock the diffs its hard to tell its not a RWD car tbh. That combined with the safety and fun of being able to drive wildly in all weather is a major bonus.

  • Have you had any issues with your pistons or ringlands? My bro just bought his 2012 STi and I'm hoping he doesn't get a lemon. :( What's your experience so far with your car?

  • @IkillV8 Its been amazing. After loosing ring landing in #4 and putting forged in $2300 with ARP head studs, I now don't even worry about the engine anymore. 23psi + meth injection its a fun ride. In the wet it rips tires free in 1st-2nd in just S-mode (15lbs boost with diffs locked).

  • no lie a great car, i love subaru's, but is it just me or does this model year seem slower than the older sti's?

  • @Ericsson787 It probably is the slowest one yet but maybe even the nicest looking one yet? Just means it needs more mods :D

In truth though it is the best handling one, in a drag race sure all other STi might be quicker, but in corners, no other STi can keep up with 2011's stock for stock. I still would like to get me a GC project car but for a daily driver 2011 is nice.

  • Its Nice n Quiet,

    Not all Loud and Deafneeeeing

    ^_^

  • Awesome Soundgarden and Alice in Chains!

  • damn these things are only good for 0-60's. they get kinda slow after that

  • @chinchillawrangler The STi was made to be a rally car, not a dragster...

  • Nice vid HellTrix.

    What's your fastest 0-100?

  • If you would lock the mid diff, you would have a more brutal launch... the front wheels wouldn't try to slip if you pop the clutch too brutal.

  • check out my 0 to 60 WRX vid! i got it down to 5.13 with almost no mods

  • it hits 30 mph once u hit the gas

  • he went through 1 bar of gas in 4 miles lol

  • @ITsIMP0RT4NT HA! Nice attention to detail!

  • @ITsIMP0RT4NT make that 32 miles n thats not bad considering how hard hes driving it!!

  • Love that Boxer Engine Sound!

  • Doesn't it reach 60 in 2nd?

  • @mateusz0003 ya but turbos lose power relatively quick so it actually makes more sense to shift a little sooner, you can see in his 1st test to 60 he does it in 5.2 sec. but when he shifts a half second sooner to 3rd he gets it done in 4.8 sec.

  • @mateusz0003 no, and that is the 'problem' of the STI over the based WRX

  • i was gonna buy a used 2009 sti.. but after watching these videos on youtube.. I'll get a new one lol

  • Are you power shifting? (Holding down the gas when changing gears).

  • @masonmcglasson Not in this video, I didn't have flatfoot shifting until sometime after this.

  • Press 2 then 9 and watch the fuel gauge :D

  • Comment removed

  • I liked looking at your gas meter lol

  • Sti* damn iPad autocorrect lol

  • I actually plan on getting a sit when finish school in may. I couldn't tell why the narrator in the video seemed so irritating until I randomly saw the nj plates. Now it makes sense to me.

  • sound garden very nice

  • i own a mk5 gti I love it but my next car will be a new sti. My dad has been driving nothing but subaru outbacks his hole life I need to follow the family tradition!

  • @Joshua4599 or do STi swap into the GTi that would be cool!

  • @Joshua4599 i would keep with the gti.. unless your talking about the new saloon version?

  • /watch?v=_5LkgPN0f4Q Take a look at my Subaru...More videos soon ;)

  • I've been driving my 2011 STI for a few months now and learning to launch this car has been a task. The only way I can get a smooth shift from 1st to 2nd while pushing hard is by holding the clutch in for what seems like an eternity and shifting slow. Anything else usually results in some type of violent feeling from the car. I am boggled by the shifting on this video. Please explain.

  • @9dewittk Before I upgraded my engine, transmission, and shift bushings, I had often 2nd and 3rd gear grinds when shifting fast. The method I used in this video before upgrading those parts was to scoot my seat a click or two closer than I normally drive so that I could get the clutch pedal to hit the floor faster. If the clutch pedel hits the floor (throttle released during clutching), I can usually pull off a second gear shift without it grinding, but not every time.

  • @9dewittk I have the exact same problem with my 02 WRX.. i know the 5 speed tranny isnt bullet proof. but i do have the same problem.

  • Will it do 60mph in second if you push it a little more?

  • @maximapitko Yes, I had raised rev limit to 7500 in order to get a 2nd gear 0-60 time. Unfortunately I only tried it twice and haven't recorded it yet. I plan to record this soon and hopefully have a mid 3 second 0-60. However by doing this I extend the powerband outside the optimal range so although the 0-60 time would be great acceleration beyond that would have been slowed down by the 7300-7400 shift dropping it outside the optimal powerband in 3rd gear.

  • 3.3s to 50!!!

  • Those are some nice runs! How did you get that timer? What app did you use?

  • @paxanrus I used the timeline counter from Adobe Premier. Since the camera is 30 FPS, the time is based off of the frames per second. Accuracy is 1/30th of a second :D

  • This video got me through the 2 month waiting period for my new sti. thanks heaps.

  • I WANT ONE! XD

  • Oh yeah thats whats posted, jus watched this vid of a douche claiming 3.8 to 60 fully stock sti! Lol made me laugh!

  • Is it just me or is that more like 4.8?

  • it's refreshing to see people still know how to powershift! nicely done.

  • pretty impressive what's in a stage 2?

  • Haha if u watch the gas gauge from begining to end he burt about an 1/8 of a tank lol

  • those idiots who rice out their cars can be driving anything, dodge srt-4, honda civic, cobalt...it's just the way you choose to modify your car that fucks it up

  • who ever calls this ricer doesn't know shit about cars. if anything to me ricers are mustangs, challengers, chargers and cameros. everyone has a definition for himself so stfu

  • damn the 0-60s arent that great taking into consideration this a fairly light car with AWD. RWD is so much better imo. Less weight and so much more fun. After launching, AWD is just dead weight lets be honest.

  • @need2speed94 Im sure thats whythe worlds fastest car is AWD

  • @IHeartMoney97 you proabably spend time looking up specs on the internet and dont go out and find out how things actually work. if you knew a damn thing about AWD youd know that it actually hurts top speed because the motor is working not just the rear axle, but the front half shaft as well. and after you launch, having a rear axle push and and the halfshafts pulling is slowing it down as opposed to having 100% power at the rear. Sure, it helps a ton off the line/in turns, but otherwise useless.

  • @IHeartMoney97 The only reason the Bug SS is awd is because with its 1000+hp at 100mph with rwd it'd break traction and don't you think its funny how Bugatti only cares about top speed records other make cars for track performance bug only goes for top speed because a Bugatti sucks anywhere where theres corners Konigsegg and SSC have built cars that can run with the bug and remain rwd and that car actually turn Bugatti is over rated are u gunna really go 260mph in a car no didnt think so

  • lmao, shifting is damm slow

  • 0:22 OMG perfect start !! nice man

  • The dreaded 2 shifts of the STi 0-60. I could never hit 60 in second gear with my 05 STi. If second was just a little longer, the STi could probably hit 60 in 4 seconds.

  • for all of you tards making comments about ricers all of you should know what a ricer even is

  • stock?

  • lol :P i bet it would. 2007 ST/. i keep it on the track.

  • Tuner is just an expensive ricer. its like saying you're a sanitary technician when you're really just a janitor.

  • 0-60 in 4 sec range and under $30k for used one , not the best but i think a good deal speed wise

  • so weak over 100

  • Only 700 miles on her, thats why she's burning so much gas. Nice video. Its awesome to read some of the comments made by people who have no idea what the fuck they're talking about.

  • 4.8 sec to 0-100km? how come 2009 wrx faster than the sti?

  • @MegaSuzukiboy WRX can get to 60 still in 2nd gear, that is the trick.also smaller turbo delivers faster.

  • Fast car, but that fuel consumption is what's going to hurt .. oh well no pain no gain..

  • Rice is best with beans!

  • Holy Crap...in just 2 mins look at how the Fuel Gauge changed.

  • New vid please!

  • How do you get it to lanch so nice?

  • @seal1207 Most people do not consier STi a ricer. Thats because they have real performance and don't spend 10 minutes in each gear starting with first gear.

  • @seal1207 you dont know what ricer means. STI isnt ricer, cept if you mod the exterior crazy and do nothing on the engine. a civic isnt a ricer, cept if you mod it crazy outside but dont touch the engine

  • @seal1207 the impreza is considered a TUNER. smart ass.

  • @seal1207 you are an idiot. do you even know what rice is?

  • @seal1207 dude im pretty sure and sti will blow the doors off what ever you drive. ricers dont do 0-60 in 5 seconds

  • @seal1207 yeah, a 'ricer' is a car that eats 'rice' (Far East stuff), didn't you know? haha. Obviously Helltrix meant 'racer', but his English wasn't, well, that good. Apart from that, I like the engine of an STi, but they look too conspicuous.

  • @seal1207 do you know what makes a car ricer? Because I think you're confused

  • @seal1207

I want to remind you that it takes asians only 2.5l to make a car that can compete with the americans unnecessary 5.0l+ V8.

  • That's clean man my 06 g35 5AT 0-80 8 sec also 0-60 5 stock sec :) check my videos

  • egit man i like it and im a huge amriccan musle guy but i love sti's

  • Thank you for posting this. This helped in my decision to purchase an STi.

  • *Borat voice* Very niiice!! How much?

  • standard "break in" time for STi is under 4 grand for 1000 miles... these boxer engines are made to rev high and push hard... This car isnt for little pansy drivers that dont want to "hurt" their motor... get the hell out of here!

  • Was this uphill?

I have an 06 sti (stock everything except suspension) and my high-end acceleration is significantly faster than this.

  • What editing program do u use

  • Nice driving! glad to see your enjoying your car.

  • Things a pig after 100, that's where my ms3 says cyaaa! Sick fuckin car though wish I cud afford one

  • So many salty people here! I love subarus they have so much potential shits fast too, keep it up

  • Wow I thought these were faster than that....the ol'mustang when she was stock was a bit quicker..not to 60 but, to 130 much quicker I wouldve thought with a turbo this would pull way harder on top-end

  • 747 miles and you driving it like that? you should give the car to a better keeper. i just got mine today 0 miles white version and i keep it 3k shiting until 4kmiles and do what i please. you killig it to early. RIP.

  • @alanlancer008 Its hard to believe you own a car like this with a comment like this. It is obvious some people have no concept of a Trip odometer.

Over 11,000 miles... And for the record i was reving to redline by 500 miles. When these cars leave the ship at the port they are also revved to redline consistently. Break-in periods are a thing of the 60s.

  • @HellTriX actually get a better camara to read anything second every car takes up to 4k to break in...if you want to argue about that go ahead and call top gear esp how they know more than anyone and third u are a american so go buy a american car leave the tuners n euros to us. 11k miles and still stock. what a shame

  • @alanlancer008 Wow you really are dumb. Car isn't stock. I have built many motors in my life, import and domestic, and top gear is for show not an authority on all things technical. Why don't you get a Honda instead, you sound like a ricer.

  • @HellTriX allright ama go get a honda. NSX and we roll. and your car sounds stock as fuck. what

  • @HellTriX I own a honda...but not for racing purposes...I hate the community for them, The community for subie's seem more down to earth, and actually type correctly, and say this instead of dis...When I wanna push the limits of the backroads...and when I get the money I am definitely picking a wrx up.

  • @HellTriX I own a honda...but not for racing purposes...I hate the community for them, The community for subie's seem more down to earth, and actually type correctly, and say this instead of dis...When I wanna push the limits of the backroads...and when I get the money I am definitely picking a wrx up.

  • @alanlancer008 Poeple really should read the descriptions before they comment! it clearly state that he went stage 2. so how is that stock?

  • @MrSubieAddict lets see the motor....got to see what it got under the hood before you can say. this aint no say n play. got to show shit before u say u got it

  • @alanlancer008 you my friend are a youtube worrior! the way engines are made these days means you are supposed to give it the beans every now and then to prevent a glaze forming between the piston rings and the cylinder wall! its only the manufacturers who will tell you to tickle it, obviously they arnt going to tell you to twat it everwhere. oh and im from england...if that accounts for anything...

  • @alanlancer008 I don't know how being American has anything to do with this video. Being that the United States is one of the most diverse countries in the world, you could technically be referring to any type of person.

  • @alanlancer008 Hope you brought an umbrella, 'cause it's raining cold hard facts in here!

  • @alanlancer008 lol you are an ignorant tool. Let the man drive his car.

  • @alanlancer008 I would rather have an american muscle car over any japanese or euro car
