It makes me hope that everyone in this vid and supporting it don't have pets of any kind, because if people are ok with doing this to turtles, then how would they have respect for any other animal? Thank you witness. I have always wondered what sort of people live in this part of America and now that I know, my tourist dollars wont be going there that's for sure. What type of people get pleasure from watching an animal repeatedly being subjected to pain,fear and abuse? What sort of country allows this?
Eddakit42 - This event has nothing to do with hunting or honing one's skill. The event managers claim they release the turtles back into the wild. This event is about making money for the campground ($10 per person, $30 per car), and the entertainment of a drunken crowd. Any turtle expert can tell you that contrary to the claims made, turtles are hurt during this event and likely die after being released. Oh, and I stopped eating Tyson chicken a long time ago.
Wow! What a really long, drawn out, boring video. If you think this is cruelty to animals then I hope you never visit a slaghter house, you know that place where your meat magically comes from, or a tyson chicken farm. Talk about making you sick to your stomach, but I bet you still eat Tyson's chicken. Snapping turtle is a good source of meat and what they are doing there many cultures would call it honing one's skill, because in order to kill it humanely, one must cut the head off.
