Pathfinder D20 OGL imo is far better than 4e and where WotC should have gone with 3.5. I am currently running a Witch from the Advanced Players Guide, and I love it.

i don't mind dnd 4, the game is a bit of a dumb down but i find it speeds the game up, you can spend so much time doing a dungeon in 3.5

Yes, 3.5 is the best edition. 4th Edition SUUUUUCKS! It's so stupid, childish, and weak! It's just a video game on paper, no good options and so many limitations! Everything, from the classes to the monsters, SUCK! I HATE 4E! Bring back 3E!

I prefer 3.5 to 4.0. 4th Edition just encourages min-maxing. The emphasis needs to be placed on roleplaying, not rules-lawyering. D&D is like playing a shitty MMORPG now.

Same here. It's not that it encourages min-maxing (many games do), it's just 4E is so radically different from D&D that it's just not the same game anymore. 3rd Edition not only stayed true to the spirit of the game and its history and traditions, but made the game more fun, simplistic and cool. Also, what they did to the Forgotten Realms setting is just utterly abominable. Where's my alignment, my 700+ year old elves, my demons being demons and not elementals!? Where is the REAL D&D anymore? :(

and in ref to 4th ed, i like the 4e miniatures, but for real roll playing i think 3.5 is better...

Razzelmire, how long have you actually played 4th edition?

About Min/Maxing: In 3rd, a caster maxed one stat, and dumped all others. melleer maxed STR/CON (and 13 dex) and dumped all others. In 4th wizards use Int,Dex,Con and/or Wis. Clerics use Str,Wis and Cha (secondairy effects). fighters Str and Wis and a stat dependant on fighting stile (con for axes, dex for spears,...)

Most anti-4e cries remind me of

Thats the battle grid that should have come with your 3.5E Dungeon masters guide. if you dont play 3.5 you can buy them at gameing stores or check e-bay...

The DM better damn well be prepared for a gaming session. A DM needs to have the skill to lie and still have people believe him. It has to be well-thought out in advance. Otherwise the players see that you're just "making it all up".

Yep. It's a DVD with a "points system" that adds up your moral choices to determine what kind of ending you'll get too.

D&D rocks. I've played in numerous campaigns for about 10 years now. As far as girl players go, I've actually seen a large number of 'em.

They're just as vulnerable to the D&D bug.
