  • Any idiot who's ever fern a plane take off could've told you that the very back would touched ...

  • you would think a rocket scientist would have figured out that it would scrape further back and use more of the test thing that they replaced. but maybe not. oh and the test wasn't very accurate. they never got a real tail strike. is this plane fully fueled and weighted like it had passengers in it? you would think that would also be a requirement because it would change the take off speed.

  • Love fixin' jets with speedtape...

  • How was this plane FAA certified? They never had the proper contact with the ground, That Skid fucked the testing up, They never knew how the plane would actually react to a Tail Strike, Therefore The planes safety is at risk. Therefore It should be taken out of service until they redo all the testing. The Engine Tests failed, Brake tests failed, and this failed. Never fly on Airbus. Boeing<3

  • Did he say Fernando Alonso?

  • @Dutchy1965 hahaha well said bro !!

  • he does not look like a race car driver and that does not look like a red ferrari f1 car!

  • Is duct tape an approved Airbus repair?

  • They didn't plan this either? AND their brake test was botched. wow.. remind me not to ride airbus.

  • Designed & Built by engineers

    Flown by Wankers !

  • French testing says it all. I will never fly with a french airline.

  • I didnt knew that Fernando Alonso could fly planes too?

  • Comment removed

  • What speed at lift off?

  • bad landing all time

    bounce when touch down

  • @TheThien123456 There are no passengers and cargo!

  • Great!

  • Fernando Alonso^^ okay, he changed his vehicle ;-)

  • wait! wait! wait! FUCKING WAIT A GODDAMN MINUTE!!!!! they can fly the biggest plane in the world around, scrape its fucking tail, and destroy the runway, BUT CANT AFFORD A PIECE OF FUCKING METAL? WHAT THE FUCK DID I MISS

  • 4:05 Just put some tape on it mate, she'll be right.

  • Fernando Alonzo....hahahhaah

  • @mcoop214 suck my hairy dick

  • @brant8888 TY!!!its a big help ^.^

  • does every plane hav this skid thingy?

  • -je pense qu'on a touché derrière

    -ah bon? xD

  • Just tape it up lol

  • Why were all the touchdowns so awful and bouncy? Computers making it a bitch to fly, or test pilots testing the suspension?

  • Did they properly fix the tail strike? Don't forget what happened to Japan Airlines 123, a 747 in 1985 faulty tail strike repair made it crash and killing 520 people, so if they don't repair this A380 properly maybe years from now when this A380 gets put into service with airline it will crash just like JAL 123, so properly fix tail strike and learn from past mistakes!

  • @JundaComputersGmbH This is a test type, not meant for passenger service. In future this plane will serve as testing machine for new engine, equipment and new material for building aircrafts.

  • lol duch tape 4:06

  • Duck tape fixes everything!

  • scarebus

  • A bit of sticky tape on the tail and she'll be right mate.

  • 4:09 Duck-tape... What has this stuff not been used on?

  • looks like steel tape. similar, but stronger. I used it to hold a heat shield around the exhaust on my car on once =P

  • did they use duck tape to fix the scrapped part of fuselage!!!

  • they land too hard....

  • @Felipe140396 you masturbate too hard

  • Like the landings. Good video!! :)

  • Now I know why the rudder or the entire vertical stabilizer comes off Airbus jets--duct tape!! All jokes aside, I avoid Airbus jets because of their vertical stabilizer issues. They STILL haven't addressed that issue. Data shows that the AA airbus crash in NYC was the result of the pilot wagging the tail 11 degrees to counter wake turbulence. 11 degrees?!?! That's all it takes for it to snap off? Hellll naw!!

  • Whats up with the fucked up landing?

  • @tinyman12323

Well, it is a lot lighter without passengers, so it seems reasonable.

  • 4:05 Perfect, my life lays in the hands of a few strips of duct tape

  • @kevguy405 No! It's Aluminum tape. (high speed tape) We use it all the time but it's only temporarily.

  • 4:10 IS THAT DUCT TAPE ROFLMAO???

  • @superhornet59 its actually called speed tape or aluminum tape

  • @superhornet59 No! It's Aluminum tape. (high speed tape) We use it all the time but it's only temporarily.

  • @robertjdm temporarily used

  • i wonder why the A380's landing gear looks like its tilted forwrads im used to seeing the gear tilted backwards

  • Carbon Fiber? Christ they make my Rowing Shells out of carbon fiber. Talk about thin

  • so is the orange thingy on A380 that are not going thru flight testing?

  • ah those Europeans sure know how to build stuff.

  • They put the A-380 thru some ruf stuf!

  • they should have done the tail strike test in the end

  • Every landing that plane does... it just seems to like....plop on the ground... no gracefulness at all.

  • Boring fact: The chap narrating this is currently playing the lead roll in The Walking Dead.

  • MADE IN EUROPE

  • on the first one it looks like they lift off a little and then it kind of comes back down and scrapes.

  • duck tape n tie wraps the repair tools of all good engineers

  • go get 200 brake pads and use metal duct tape and tape em up...

  • 4:06-4:12 Yeah, rite there guys! Yeah, put a little more scotch tape - that will do it!

  • That's a pretty impressive looking plane.

  • Haha great use of duct tape. They should try make a plane from it.

  • 4:03 i like the way they use duck tape to fix it

wounder if the rest is held together by the same stuff??

  • That plane is toast in 15 years!

  • some metal sticking out? nothing duct tape couldn't fix.. just avoid static ports

  • i know how u can safe lifes, and make more money.

  • 4:28 epic!!

  • 4:07 WTF??? duct tape??

  • fail Dx should lifted off 5-10 degrees then nothing would of touch

  • 4:05 ...thats some hardcore ductape

  • @sgtGrif Its actually called Speedtape. its aluminium foil tape and its good for 500mph and it shreds fingers haha

  • Dear All,

I have some questions about psychology:

    (1) Why do human wan to design and to build big jets but other animals do not?

I mean other specious of animals do not even dream of flying high.

    (2) Between A380 and "Oasis of the Sea" (Royal Caribbean Cruise), which one will you choose?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

  • i love this plane

  • What's wrong with you clowns who love one company and hate the other? It's such a futile and childish argument. Even the engineers in those companies would tell you that their competitors are doing a good job.

  • @nojyt

Because we can have a preference.

  • Anyone know what Discovery program this is from?

  • @snipes684 World's Biggest Airliner

  • @FLY777300 Wut channel? TWC

  • @FLY777300 maybe you should have a video of a 777300

  • @trainfreak7745 Soon ill upload some 777 vids along with an A346

  • @FLY777300 ooo cool very cool

  • bit of tape should fix that up

  • The Airbus A380 is an inexperienced pregnant whale... The Boeing 747 is an experienced QUEEN OF THE SKIES.

  • i used to love all boeing and no airbus aircraft, now its the opposite. i love the a340,a330,and a380. i prefer the 737 to the a320 but thats about it. anyone know why they use an aircraft with the windows in it instead of just using a cargo type plane without windows?

  • its the plane they use for the demo flight, like the one with engineers on it.

  • Because the passenger version is the "main" variant of the plane. The freight version, if it will be developed, is more or less a modified A380.

  • Amazing Plane xD

I hope it comes to our Airport into our Hangar^^

but i think it's a little bit too big :D

  • his landings aren't perfect, but im sure that the flight electronics wasn't finished!

  • nothing worse than scraping up your nice new plane

  • I'unno, ever tried being raped?

  • that presenter is a douche bag

  • LOL are they fixing the plane with duct tape??? 4:06

    lol

  • @Naopro since its a carbon fibre shell I suspect its strips of the carbon fibre they're putting on with rescin as that;s how they make it.....a guess on my part

  • @drezman2004 Could be speedtape I suppose although I don't know whether they use that on carbon fibre

  • @jgs737 As a matter of fact, you are right. they used speedtape as a quick fix durring the test, before repairing it properly back in toulouse.

  • True Minmatar.

  • it rly looks like it

  • Okay guys, I learned a lot now in reference to that accident with first Airbus and appollogize for my harsh words.

    I love the 380 .... ;-)

  • Nice landings

  • Sorry, but the french are idiots. I remember very well, like there flew one of their first Airbus, during an public show, into the woods..... CRASH !

  • I hate the French too, but the idiot here is you! That was a fully-automated experimental demonstration which failed. Thats why we don't have robots flying airplanes! The automated lessons learned are applied now and the fly-by-wire systems in the current Airbus and Boeing are used because of that.

  • Could we know why you hate french people?

  • yeah six people died there, but that was because no other airliner had ever used a digital fly by wire system. That technology has probably saved a lot of lives since then. Also that plane saved 155 lives by successfully ditching, which no one thought it could.

  • those were some bad landings though...

  • So this thing flew its maiden flight way before it's official one?

  • Great to watch thanks for posting. I love this aircraft.

  • that is one fugly aeroplane

  • who the fuck cares whether this plane is ugly or not, I find the a380 beautiful and majestuous compared to the crappy 747

  • I find both to be amazing aircraft.

  • if Airbus is such a joke then how do you explain airbus is pwning boeing at so many levels ...

  • Hmm, you must be right: Airbus is a joke. I think that it's a funny joke though, since it's so popular...

  • very interesting, thanks for posting.

  • masking tape?? lol

  • I don't think the A380 is the most magnificent commercial jet, it looks somewhat lopsided. But! It is an amaaaaaaaazing piece of engineering and I hope in the future I have the fortune to fly in it :)

And yes, Fernando hides his secret identity well! lol

  • what's good about the a380 is that a lot of people doubted it and airbus are now very successful with it

  • Fernando Alonso?! F1 driver by day, A380 designer by night. Who knew...

  • i judt got it, and hes a lion tamre that like ketchup. HAHAHAHAAHAHAH.HAHAHAHAHA.

  • @f15x28isback lol thats not the F1 driver

  • @f15x28isback

Seems F1 pilots dont earn as much money as we all thought. :-D

  • @f15x28isback haha love your comment!

  • The fanboy whom i was replying to was the one that compared them originally, i was just deconstructing is argument.

If the 747-8 is the 'sweet spot' in pax capacity how come the A380 has 10x the orders?

And i was not talking about cargo. You're barking at the wrong tree. I am not a cheerleader. The 747-8 is obviously the best cargo plane.

  • lol I'm just gonna throw this out there...

    The Antonov 225

    Discuss

  • The Mryia is great for extremely oversized items, but that is probably less that 1% of the air cargo market...

I guess that's the reason why there was only one of them built. A shame though!

  • There's actually 2 in service now...they brought the other one out of the hanger and made it flight worthy. So apparently there is definitely a need for them.

  • Is amazing?

  • Airbus ever!

  • My uncle name bert was their

  • I think the airline manufacturers are making people spoiled by building jumbos more and more luxury, they're now being equipt with a bar room , gym room,, and a sleep room, the're basically a giant flying motel. The bigger the aircraft , the bigger loss of life will occour, should a horrific accident happen , we all hope not but of the recent number of incidents in this early new year 2009 I can only imagine what could happen, I think we are fine with the fleet of jets 777, 787, 767, and 747.

  • That's an obvious fallacy.

Assuming equal demand, if you are running smaller aircraft you'll have to fly more flights, thus more flight hours and cycles, thus more susceptibility to suffer an accident.

Or course you'd loose half the lives per each accident, but if you fly twice the flights the rules of statistics say in the end you'll have twice the number of accidents.

  • It's called evolution...

  • maybe we should also stop operating ferries and cruise ships as well, seeing as how they carry way more than 400 passengers...and prevent the japanese airlines from operating their 747s domestically in full economy configuration (500 seats or maybe more)....?!?!!!!

  • The 747-800 isn't doing too well with orders, so we might never see it fly.

  • yea is not doing to good

  • I called Boeing yesterday and put in an order for about 12 so we'll see how they do.

  • @FLY777300 the next Air Force One is going to be the 747-8

  • @RainbowManification Of course, America doesn't trust companies that aren't it's own.

  • @FLY777300 There are over 100 orders. As soon as the initial customers recieve them and there is a proven track record - also a better upswing in the global economy - then there should be more orders.

  • @Amar7605

Only 33 orders are for the passenger version. The rest are freighters which are pretty much without concurrence in their class.

  • Airbus is much much safier than boeing

  • This airplane is too big. I just feel the the 747-8 is the maximum ideal size for the large airplane segment,

  • Based on?

Let me guess...It being an Airbus.

If it were a Boeing, you'd probably think it was the best thing since sliced bread.

Besides the Airlines, who actually know what they are doing, don't seem to agree AT ALL that the 747 is the ideal size.

There are 200 orders for the A380 vs a mere 20 for the 747-8i. Only a complete retard would think he knows better than the actual operators.

  • just like you "sha1tan" the 380 has been out longer than the 747, as a matter of fact the 747-800 isnt even out yet

  • sha1tan your argument is pointless. the 747-8i is not an a380 competitor. the a380 is a class in itself. even boeing's market pitch was based upon the fact that the 747-8i was simply a replacement for the a340-6, 747-400. and to fit in a groove slightly lower than the 380. btw cargo operators would dissagree with you too.

  • "if it aint boeing im not going" what a complete arse, the A380 rules!!!

  • Sorry!
