Remember the date: 1981 - they played every frikin' note live, on stage, NOW - no MIDI, no BS: the STUDIO sound was the STAGE sound: very few bands can make a similar claim. Don't believe me, ask a musician; but ask a fuckin' great one, so u know how high the pinnacle was that they achieved.
"I am sure, my day will come...."
After some 35 years of playing, writing, concert going and acting as a music reviewer, I can still say that the SAGA concert I experienced in the 80's was the tightest and best performed I have ever seen. Poor Billy Squire (who I do like) had a tought act to follow, as SAGA opened for them that night. Shame on whoever pissed off the band badly enough for them to decide not to return to the States. Wish they would do a reunion tour here....
--- Was soll dieser unglaubliche Unsinn !!!!
I can't deny the value of their music to my own maturity through the 80's. I was young & it hit me hard, SAGA/MARILLION/Thinking Feeling Being MUSIC like this is.
These guys were way ahead of their time and great musicians...Michael Sadler is incredible. Any 'gay' comments I've read are idiotic and I understand the XBox is fun too kiddies.
I have to agree with you on the show and the electronic drum kit.Looks like it was a killer show and the introduction of the Simmons kit added a new element of perection to thier music.Still to this day no other manufacturer can make a electronic drum kit like Simmons did the 80's i sure do miss that decade. You say this show is from 1980?
speaking of gay, they have Brittney Spears video available on youtube if you are not into bands with real musicians... not criticism, just an observation.
Sorry for Canada that you're an absolute idiot to think that hate crime, thought crime laws are a great thing.ADL and other jewish groups promote free speech suppression. Look at how the USA is controlled by AIPAC and other lobby groups. enjoy the upcoming North American Union.
First heard Saga on an excellent show on Radio Drei Stuttgart. Soon thereafter went downtown and purchased every Saga album in stock. Vastly underrated band.
The first time I heard from this band was from Marco Hartung in Germany. We both were also big Marillion fans. He introduced me to all the Prog Rock groups back in the 80's. I will never forget him.
I befriended a German man by the name of Jurgen Radle that turned me onto this band. (this album had at least 2 different covers: (1)an old norse looking map and (2)the reflection of said map in a pair of nirroered sunglasses worn by a powder white-facesd chic.Great Friend! Great band!
Saga its a musicgroup progressive more important in 80`s age wereas Rush also complete all styles includes the synfhonic rock,Saga reach sites all time, never rock group`ll has the same level, but Saga in your songs are futuristics as Don`t be late.
I dedicate this song to my ex-girlfriend, Tina. The last time I saw her was in November 2001. We had an arguement. A month later,it was rumored that she shot herself.
Wow...I haven't listened to this band in a looooong time. Very happy memories associated with this great music. Thank you for the upload and taking me back.
Having known these guys personally all my life, I can agree with you on that. They love to play. Sure, it's how they make a living...but the main thing is the music.
amazing track for 1981, couple of years ahead of its time

Was just listening to this track and the production values are insane. It sounds like a track that was recorded this morning.
The live performance is insane.

Hey Jason! No, I'm not, actually. I'm American, but I love your fine Canadian bands like Saga, Triumph, Loverboy, Rush, Headpins, etc.
My fave are Saga! I saw them play in Roanoke, Virginia, way back in 1982. They Ruled!
I've been a big fan ever since then.
