  • You may not be as old as Eric is yet, but, if you live long enough, you will be. If you don't like this version, then just click on one of the many when he was young. Besides all that, how many hits have "you" had? How many crowds have" you" entertained through the years? This life FLIES BY faster than you think. Keep on keepin on Eric!!!!!

  • É meio que estranho mais é legal sim!!!

  • This is one "rabid" video. =p

  • I can't believe they still rock!

  • For all those critical of Eric, he still makes Justin Timberlake sound like a choir boy! Can't beat these old timers for true grit and soul.

  • I like it!

You dont need to sing the same song always the same way! :)

  • House of the rising sun brothel

  • a really bad cover, but hey, the guy didn't save his money and he has to eat.

  • @serundipity who said it was cover? but his first version was definetly better :)

  • @serundipity its his song u clown

  • @serundipity A cover! Are you kidding? Eric Burdon and the Animals did a brilliant job of it in the sixties. He can knock most so called singers today for six.

  • @serundipity - seriously this isnt a cover this is HIS song when he was the original singer for the Animals. You should have looked it up before you commented

  • hes been singing this song forever!

  • stop disliking!! he's not gonna sing it the same way he did 50 years ago! he's older and must be very bored of it

  • eric burdon was the same vocalist of the animals...so dont dislike this video idiots

  • legend forever.

  • I've had the privilege of playing this tune with Hilton a few times, and he's better than ever. He's even gotten better looking with age too.

  • click....................................boom

  • The keyboardist is about to have kittens.

  • Who knew It was about a brothel !!!?

  • @Nialldouglas What exactly did you think it was about????

    TD

  • The instrumentation is good, but the vocal just doesn't work for me. I love "The Animals" version.

  • @photoguy4god it is the animals? eric burdon was the singer for animals in 1964 lol

  • He needs to watch himself from 1964 and learn how to sing it that way again....much better!

  • @fundreamer1 well look how much younger he was then lol probably doesnt have the same voice

  • @fundreamer1 Would you sing a song the same way for 50 years?

  • I watch winners like Eric Burdon and like me we've past our prime, I'm glad he is still getting asked to dance and shows up and gives what he's got and that is HEART and the balls of snot that knock it, I wish them to have half the heart Eric has shared all these years, the 8 track players in a bunker with some hot beer and knock out opium made for a time that a few Marines took a break and laughed from heart knowing tomorrow would be more blood and body bags.

  • i love THE ANIMALS...BRASIL.

  • Saw Alan Price in High Wycombe ten years ago on one of my few trips to the UK. He can still play the organ great. Too bad he and Eric had a falling out.

  • 811 shit for brains

  • many dislike aaahhh there we go 2008 good thats right :) civilized people :)

  • Not always getting older means getting better

  • Even though this rendition is not as good as the original version, it still BEATS THE HELL OUT OF (C)RAP!! Anything beats the hell out of (C)RAP, even a watery fart!!!

  • Def not his best of this song. You'd think as he's gotten older his voice would be even richer but he sounds like an adolescent whose voice is changing in this particular vid.

  • lo que hace el tiempo y la drogas a hora son viejos la quieren hacerles de virgencitos hace mas de cuarenta años

  • He's probably so sick of singing/hearing that song.

  • This video is a favorite on Oman

  • do you not understand how old these guys are you fucking idiots of course it doesn't sound as good as before.... they still have the heart though

  • @ maxadarden , they dislike cause they can do it and the rookie singers are fustrated..... no machine can give this voice and slang. Eric is one of a kind.

  • why is there a lady in the background? or tranny?

  • Too many "yeah" for me ^^'

  • why are there alot of dislikes he sounds pretty good his age

  • All the people complaining, id like to see you sing like that at his age, or even your age. so shut up

  • Guys it's the same version it's just live and for gods sake he's been playing it for 40 something years hes gotta make it interesting for himself somehow.

  • Just got too old

  • fuck eric burdon has an unbelivable voice. He's 70 years old and that voice passed through the liberal crazy times

  • que increible sigue igual de genial , a pesar de la edad que tiene, GRANDE ERIC BURDON

  • hes got the same bday as me

  • no one can beat Alan Price

  • old version is way better

  • @chesalas92 cause its older

  • @chesalas92 yes i agree too

  • @chesalas92 Prefer Muse and Animals versions

  • @chesalas92

    Damn Right.

  • @chesalas92 LOL this is the OLD version in a way xD

  • old version is way better

  • still a good singer but i like the original better. i dont like modern rock which is what he tried to turn this song into and this isnt a song made for that.

  • this version sucks the old one is soooo much better

  • eric burdon is the master but i can't say i like this version better than the old one

  • yea baby

  • LOL i played along on my guitar sounded epic

  • POLSKA przejmuje Erica

  • why so many dislikes? wtf

  • @maxarden hes not really a good singer anymore

  • @maxarden The song is an old African American. Checkout the history. Also this is not Eric's best performance.

  • @fm1844 No, not African American at all, it is Appalachian. Appalachians are white and primarily descended from Scotch, Irish, and English. The song was thought to have its origins in an old English folk song.

  • @maxarden

read the comment right below yours

  • @maxarden BECAUSE SOME GUYS THINK THEY NEED TO CHANGE UP THERE SONGS WHEN THEY GET OLDER, TO MAKE IT, REVAMPED. ONLY THING THEY DO IS FUCK IT UP. STAY ORIGINAL!!!!!

  • LOVE THE ROCK N ROLL

  • BURDON !!

  • thats the same guitarist ! wow if we got the same bassist it might be a little better

  • he's become a new Mickey Rourke! and Mickey Rourke Rocks!!!!!

  • @tonyomusic seriously! rourke just gets better and better. and burdon has been among the most badass of brits ever since the original performance of this (see the animals video, it so rocks. god how he nails it in what, his early 20's? talent strikes at birth)

  • Amazing! Love performance from 60"s. Love this!

  • @Rasa119 no, read the the title 2009!

  • dam this house really has to ruin men ...

  • Wohhh! he can still get up there like he did back in '64...far out !!!

  • you know, even though this was recorded 44 years after the animals made this a hit, its still pretty damn amazing!

  • 40 years ago he was better at singing :P

  • i'd go anywhere on earth to see Eric Burdon.. he's part of my life, the really good old days..

  • @altazboy Amen..

  • Erich is bärich...

  • You know you should retire when the band members start dying off due to old age related diseases.

  • @TheSchnorkey BULLSHIT. PLAY TIL YOU DIE!!!!!!!!!! ROCK N ROLL FOREVER!!!

  • Excelente, me gusta tu estilo, tu timbre, te admiro.

  • Dylan did not write the song . Check wikipedia

  • Dylan wrote the song??!

    Wtf..?

  • @sciacallo010 No, Dylan didn't write this song. He recorded a well-known version of it on his first album, which was a rendition originally done by a fellow folk singer named Dave Van Ronk. As far as who actually wrote it, it's a mystery. It's a song that has been passed down through generations, but the original author is unknown, as the song goes back well into the 16th century. The oldest known audio recording of the song was done in 1933.

  • They Perform Like The Real Animals......Beautiful Peoples.....

  • yea it's eric burdon, this was a # 1 hit for the animals dylan wrote the song

  • too much ad-libbing and overkill. i don't mind a little alteration, but not a total metamorphosis.

  • Why does it seem like so many songs were sped up, especially today

  • I know Eric and to defend him ...which I should not have to do ...he is fine vocallly ...he just completed a tour and was vocally stressed ... if you look at other Vids from near that time in concert you will see he was on point ... will check back and possibly share those vids ..gotta get clearence first lol.

  • It doesn't sound bad, he was just trying too hard to make it as good as he did before.

  • Eric can still hit those notes better than Robert Plant can..Bravo Eric!

  • Liked the old version more, this is too pimped up, too many tricks in it, give me the other pure version.

  • Why do old singers think they can do it? Apart from looking different, they usually perform badly. I prefer to remember them as they were.

  • QUE SE PUEDE DECIR DE ESTOS GRANDES DE LA MÚSICA DE LOS SETENTAS SINO... MIS RESPETOS! HUBIERA QUERIDO SER ASÍ DE GRANDE!

  • Unfortunately Eric looks like Gary Glitter ...Eric can sing the other pervert couldn't.

  • Like if you Think the animals did it way better

  • @rugers01 you do realize thats the same singer right? the only difference is well no one else is the same...

  • @rugers01 You DO know this was the guy who did the vocals for the Animals.. right?

  • @rugers01 ... Eric Burdon is the original singer from the Animals back in 1964...

  • I dont think it sounds bad at all, still has some power.

  • First off i would like to state- If you sang a song that everyone knows you for, for over 35 years, wouldn't you get tired of singing it the same way over and over every time? second, why the hell does it matter? its his song and he fucking rocks at it!

  • I'd listen to the older cats sing the older tunes before I'd give the wannabe 'musical' fucksticks of the last two decades a second of my listening time. Those WERE the times to live and because Eric and other 60s and 70s artists can still belt it out, we can still live in those times with the memories that mattered.

  • Heerlijk na zoveel jaren

  • wow, everyones getting old.

  • guys i hate to break your hearts, but that man is not eric burdon, sorry

  • It's just sad....rockers growin old. Not BAD, but not good is it?

  • Why the fuck did so many people dislike this? Why do you deliberately go to something you know you don't like just to press a button? Wtf?

  • @DisposableTeenIn1984

that's life these days sadly.. miserable fookers everywhere! Eric is probably close to Godlike in the music scene and can belt out most of the old notes. Not bad for 70.. Slays Jagger etc

  • @jamcofec Definitely slays Jagger man holy shit does Jagger sound like ass. It doesn't sound as good as it did 30 years ago (obviously) but at least Burdon sounds great still!

  • he still has the voice! nice.!

  • so glad to see old cats like him still kickin, still doin it -talkin bout my generation

  • he lost it

  • hard to hit that shit when your about 80, still the man had his glory years, nothing to dislike about that...

  • I saw this lineup about 2 years ago. It was very good.

  • What a voice !!! he didn't change in so many years!!!

  • @carino1983 His voice change a lot in this years or are you deaf??

  • @vladimirro933 His voice is definitely different. But, he can still belt it... I wish he's sing it like he did originally - because I think he could.

  • @carino1983 you can't be serious :D

  • not as good as the animals

  • how are they created to making this song? Leadbelly sang it in 1944

  • @ASovietTinCan

They aren't. They just made the most popular version.

  • i love young eric burdon too but ppl age :/lol he's in his 70's so ur voice is also gunna change!!

  • Sometimes when an artist get sick to death of their song it's normal for them to sing it differently. I would rather they sing it with actual emotion rather than just hearing a forceful exact copy of the original.

  • @kingiam91 Could not have said that better..

  • is that the same guy from along time ago?

  • @anchorboy3457 : Yeah same person singing as back in the day

  • @anchorboy3457 The name is Eric Burdon bud!

  • @anchorboy3457

Yes....This guy still the same guy ,if you go back to the future, you will see him more younger, but this guy really awesome... I love the way he sings.

  • @anchorboy3457 Yes it is

  • @anchorboy3457 yes anchorboy, it is.

  • @anchorboy3457 yeah that's the guy. XD

  • @anchorboy3457 Yes sir

  • @anchorboy3457 yes, but i think the old band is better --> The Animals

  • eric you sounded way better in the sixties

  • Elton john of the 60s

    rollingstones of the 70s

    micheal jackson of the 80s

    tupac of the 90s

    eminem of the 20s

thats what he is to me

  • @macaddino Eminem of the 20's

    wow that's pretty low

  • well Please, don't keep me waiting. You will have a fun time with me

  • Why do singers do this? They take a great song and then change the shit out of it and make it unrecognizable live. I hate that.

  • @stirwins333 The reason it's different is he can't sing like he used to.

  • @stirwins333 maybe he dont whant to sing it the same way he have sang it for the last 47 years

  • WOW! for his age he still has a great voice! But with all due respect I know it's his song and he could do whatever he wants with it. In my personal opinion he should just keep the classic the same way.

  • He should sing it the same way he used to.

  • I like both versions:) the old version is classy, but this version is still great, especially the towards the ending. I love Eric's voice, no matter what type of music he plays.

  • CONTINUA COM A VOZ BEM FORTE!ADQUIROU MAIS TÉCNICA,PARA CANTAR.

  • genial. fue uno de los pocos amigos de hendrix.

  • awesome..erick ruless..!!!!what a voice..!!!!!

  • Eric kicks ass!

  • A lot of musicians perform this way when they are older. Most of these guys can't belt out and hold the notes like they used to. Thats why they try to make it sound almost overly poetic by doubling up the timing of there singing etc. Its sad cause you can tell he wants to sing how he did in the day but physically can't any longer.

  • @musclekid13 Hes hitting all the notes he used too. The song's highest note is A4 and he hits it everywhere it occurs except in the first verse where he always sang it one octave lower anyway. I think its just a stylistic thing, maybe he thinks it appeals to the younger generation. I've heard guys in their 20's with Robert Plant-like ranges sing like this, so I think that has noting to do with it. You're just selling him short, I think. He hasn't lost half as much as you seem to think.

  • @TheBibleWitness Yeah I agree with you, he still hits those notes. When a singer has sung a song so many times they try to vary it a bit with every later performance (Mistake usually)

    Lost John

  • @TheBibleWitness A4 is a chord not a note.

  • @musclekid13 ...Top comment, hit the nail right on the head!!..

  • @musclekid13 To true mate, it's horrible to see pioneers lose their touch, I guess we just getting older like them 8(

The cash in beats all unfortunately, but hell I wish they didn't try, and that's despite they have more talent in their little finger than I have in my whole body!!!!

  • @musclekid13

Musclehead13, who dared say, "A lot of musicians perform this way when they are older." Wow!!!

Few of us can do this --not me, for sure. And not you I think, maybe. Maybe you should shut up and wish that you may one day be able to approximate these vocalizations. Belt out? Have you the slightest idea what this means?!

Let's hear where you come from; and belt it out. I am glad to be corrected.

  • @musclekid13 There may be some truth to what you say but he still sure as hell can sing the hell out of it still!

  • @musclekid13 To me it aged like a fine wine; with more time the lyrics sound more sorrowful, and you can feel the sadness rattling both Burdon's and your bones, regardless if you're a music buff or if this is the first song you ever hear.

  • Wow they actually got Hilton Valentine to play lead guitar.... SWEET

  • I think he's trying too bluesy and for this cover it doesn't fit

  • @gnr2k11forever He's trying to compensate for natural soul that he had with forced riffs...great voice but didn't have to put so much effort in it...

  • Eric Burdon is a great singer.

  • Why is Paul Sr from OCC singing this classic?

  • so much years later, and the motherfuckers ¡ROCK LIKE A MONSTERS !

  • Good Job, the best rockers are still the original rockers ,but I do think this song should have been done in a more original format ,it's like a classic ,so ya don't screw with it. Again it's his song so he get a pass.

  • @RimfireRat its not his song though is it

  • @RimfireRat Exactly, why can't they play it like they did in '64. Adding to perfect makes imperfect.

  • Rock on, Eric! You're great!

  • This cat needs no Viagra! Rocks fuckin' rock hard!!!!

  • 1:10 hahahahahahahahah

  • Any one else thinking Mickey Rourke?

  • The bass player got prettier.

  • OH Eric, Honey, u still got it baby.

  • how can you expect that he should sing it like 40 years ago? not to mention that would be boring

  • He looked a lot younger when he was younger!

  • Man I love Paul Teutul.

  • who is the girl?

  • i loved it in the movie casino ...

  • this isnt the same as the old version :(
