  • He sounds just like the voice that does the safety warning on Disney World trams.

  • I would love a SQ2 kit. But god damn it.. It's so expensive!

  • Great Vid. Steve is simply an icon in the drumming world. 30 years with any Co. is amazing and it looks like he loves playing SONOR. It would be a bit more satisfying to actually see him using a SONOR snare drum. His usual snare of choice is a Jeff Ocheltree creation.

  • Nice timbre on this kit. They wanted 7k US for it here in the Cleveland area. Weighed a ton. He's right on about Sonor being tough to get a deal with.

  • wow.... FUCK the ONE person who disliked this...

  • why did some dick just wana try be hard and put a disslike its just pountless

  • awesome traditional grip... you dont see that too much anymore.

  • Cool

  • Playing sonor drums is like driving a porsche just better! Myself i got a 3007 Maple kit i love it!!!

  • @Kevinkoch2443 I'm on a sonor delite and I just got a jungle kit. I will never play another brand. Why would I? :)

  • Steve has always understood that being a true Master means being a master student who is an expert at studying and absorbing everything, and a master teacher who passes that knowledge on to others. And Steve is a true Master.

  • I love how this has NO dislikes! :D

  • best.drum.kit.EVER. POWER OF BEECH!!!!!!

  • is that a smile of concentration or happiness ?

  • Does someone know what, of what is made and used, the white strip he uses on the bass drum ?

  • He inspired me in my purchase of the 22in dark medium k ride. Love it!

  • ok..i need your opinion....a tempus..sonor...or yamaha..

  • @MrManganinja oh my, if you can afford a sonor delite (maple) kit or s-classix (birch) you will have the best on the planet! my delite kit fills a room with thick sound... they are chameleons on tuning with monstrous sound... i can get a big boom or tight punch.... the toms are the most resonant i have played.

  • Sonor drums are amazing

  • 0:51 "...Jean-Luc Ponte-pregnant pause..." I don't know that amused me so, But it did.

  • i love sonor theres so much tone in the toms

  • Danny Carey plays sonor! And I respect him alot.

  • steve is the best, only vinnie Coliauta is better...DT43

  • Szeretnék egy ilyet..... :-))))

  • man steve is best! being a metal drummer i still respect him ALOT! i think alot of younger drummers these days forget where alot of what they hear comes from and steve is def one of those classic drummers!

  • Is that a simple SQ2 snare drum, or does Smith use a signature one?

  • for all those wondering...steve uses the dw 9000 titanium double pedals...only 500 made

  • Gah! It's suh-NORE nor SOH-nur

  • Which one is better? DW or Sonor? I have a dw, but I've never played a sonor.

  • @slickvick456 I'd say Sonor makes better snare drums, but got to love DW's toms and bass :P DW is more expensive though

  • @Jjjjjjcool yeah man. Especially the VLT/X shell. I love those shells! I'm prob getting another snare. I'm gonna look at Sonor and the new super solids.. Thanks though!

  • @slickvick456 are DWs as good as people say they are?

  • @Bluemoon4655 I guess so bro. But right now they are a bit too over-priced. I bought mine 2 years ago and I got it with the 9000 series hardware for the same price as the drums only today. But the great thing about DW since they're custom made, you can pick the sound u want, no matter what type of music you play. For e.g. I play metal so I chose the VLT/X-Shell. U should try them out. They're the biggest sounding drums I've ever played on. Good luck!

  • @slickvick456 awesome thanks, i will try to test them out

  • @Bluemoon4655 Anytime man!

  • sonor drums are the best

  • Kick ass jazz drummer!

  • yamaha make the best pedals. full stop

  • thats not a sonor pedal though is it?

i have a giantstep. been tryna get used to it for a year. most solid/sturdy pedal ive owned. but man i cant flow/roll with it. i get on my friends eliminator and fly. and get back on sonor and it feels like a slug. just no response. all heavy hits etc. solid but hard to get used to

  • The pedal/ double pedal Steve uses is a DW double pedal. I do not really know which series though (could be the 5000 or 6000).

  • DW For the win! I got DW 4000 :D

  • @CamoSpartan07 The pedal he uses now is the DW 9000 Platinium series!

    Cheers

  • sounds great, very pricey!

  • Wikipedia it

  • jaajaja nice frase lol

  • Na, I'm actually pretty certain he says it incorrectly

  • I know it's not a big deal but I believe it's pronounced "suh-noor" or "sun-or"

  • @inimicalODDITY no the way he says it is correct. trust me I'm from belgium not far from germany, so-nor like he says it is correct.

  • i think that he is an excellent drummer. the best drummer i feel that journey ever had

  • how can you NOT love steve?????

  • @MRCJCOLLINS Because I am not a big fan of the sausage.

  • @MRCJCOLLINS how can you NOT love the drum kit!!?? :)

  • his smile makes me freak out
