  • My mum had one of these Sunnys and at 17, I was a named driver on the insurance. It wasn't a bad car at all. Always started and use to wheel spin pretty well (young boy racer thing I guess). It also wasn't a bad looking car, but Clarkson thinks so. He should look at the Proton (Mitsubushi lookalike) as that is far worse than the Sunny in looks alone.

  • Bye bye japanese crap...

  • It was only a sedan. If it were one of the fastback wagons then I'd have a problem.

  • i hate dat man wit so much wit a passion i ez a retarded pervert stupid tik fuk dat trys 2 be kool anyway e obiously duzn hav a clue about cars nissan ar one of the best and all d insults e tryed giving dat sunny made em out 2 be an even bigger retard e must tink tinkdat cars dat break down al d time an ar patehic ar kool wa an idiot

  • old idiot...

  • i feel bad for nissan. they just tried to make a car. at least respect it a bit jeremy

  • a very sad way to end a car ... i love you jeremy , but this is too cruel :( ... RIP

  • If everything was named after its characteristics, his name would be JEREMY CUNTBAG

  • @larjanus Where did the bag come from?

  • @larjanus Nope.

    His name'd be Mr Destroysitall.

  • Why would your criticize a car for being a car? The 1984 Nissan Sentra Diesel has an outstanding fuel economy. The announcers on Top Gear are full of themselves and don't even use the massive resources of Top Gear to become better at driving, instead hiring younger professionals to come on their show.

  • from Sunny to R35~

  • @MrSpiderNETZ he said "The Nissan Anchovy-with-marzipan-coating"

  • lmfao : GOOD bye Sunny Man :)

  • It almost landed that

  • Although I'm not a big fan of Jeremy but he has a point about the car's character. I mean I completely understand him. If reliabilty is your only concern get one I guess, but for me it takes all the fun away.

  • My granny owned a nissan sunny. Was good for her. I dislike this.

  • I'm 22 and own a 93 sunny 1.4lx. Still runs perfect and great first car

  • @LeeP88 Awesome, I'm 19 and own exactly the same model! Despite some problems with the engine she had some years ago, everything is running great

  • @LeeP88 LOL

  • legit the sunny just is so boring, its just a car, nothing more nothing less

  • he had hair!!

  • jeremy fucker

  • Aweonao como puedes destruir una makina de estas ridiculo si fuera tuyo no lo arias

  • I own a nissan sunny(96) ... but I would still call that thing crappy... it looks non stylish and boring... =S

  • atleast thats not my nissan sunny (96)...

  • Dear Jeremy ~ we Yanks have a young chap named Bieber, who we would very much like to send you, to test his ballistics on your trebuchet......

  • if you go to wikipedia, and look up nissan sunny, other names include nissan sentra. funny thing... my first car was a 91 nissan sentra... THANKS MOM.

  • @thedalton7861 Wasn't THAT bad of a car if you didn't drive it like an idiot or if you had bought a decent one for more then $200..

  • He forgot mention that where all Rovers and Metros needed open bonnet every day, Sunny just started and run !

  • wats up with his hair it looks like bigfoot wiped his butt on his head

  • this man is so tall

  • Ese carro si era feo... lo popular nunca es bonito.

  • lol but still asians are again taking over

  • Jeremy Clarkson hijo de mil putas te vas a morir kagando y nadie te va a limpiar

  • First of all this guy must be totally thick to criticize the designing of a car that was built almost 30 years ago. Jap's created these cars for practicality and not for anything else, these cars sold well and were reliable in their day. It's all to fun for these dumbasses to laugh at Jap cars, but at the end of the day it's the companies who produce econoboxes who have the last laugh. What happened to the bloody British Motor industry? I laugh each time i remember that Tata bought jaguar.

  • i think my grandad had one of those, i remember kicking it it and the number plate fell off

  • So Nissan and Mazda made the same cars in the 80's? That front end is identical to the 89 Mazda 323 I had. The steering wheel is different though.

  • The ONLY way to truly kill a Sunny.......those things last forever

  • It really was a horrible car

  • I had an '84 same color. Never ever broke down in any way shape or form. Been buying Japanese cars ever sense.

  • First time seeing this video, love it. Awesome trebuchet.

  • Jeremy Clarkson lost his hair, but nissan sunny still in the roads. hehehehehe

  • I have to agree that "Sunny" is a really stupid name.....maybe it should have been called a .......SENTRA.......

  • This is fucking great! xD

    Destroy that piece du shit!!1

  • "It would clean it's teeth twice a day" LoL Guess I'm a Sunny

  • It's just a boring car calm down Jeremy lol, I hate Chrysler neons to be honest

  • it is a little bit sad at the end!

  • noooooooooooooooo!

    tha was my first car!!!!!

    and still working.

  • It's 1982 model, Destroy a Toyota Corolla! not the Nissan!!!

    Destroy Chinese cars too!

  • @Joniel120

    "Destroy Chinese cars too!"

Don't be ridiculous. Everyone knows that Chinese cars are very good at destroying themselves. They need no help there.

  • good job

  • Nissan Sunny vas rubbish even back then

  • 27 people own a Nissan Sunny.

  • if he said all this about NISSAN in front of any ARAB...obviously he will me killed at the spot..what u think??

  • hey, at least its reliable =)

  • crazy clarky

    bad hair hahaah

  • WTF NISSAN SUNNYS ROCKS!!

  • What a waste. Why not donate it to someone who needs it or sell it for charity? I've never really liked Jeremy. always thought he was a bit of an asshole. And he's always ripping on american cars. Typical british snob who thinks america and everything from there sucks. I can't stand european snobs. I always feel like smashing their face in. I by no means enjoy being an american, but not everything we make sucks and there are a few good people who are from here.

  • @GeneralHoohah There there general, but when it comes to cars USA really doesn't take the lead. Honestly you can admit to that? But don't feel bad. The brits are just as terrible. See what's left of their car industry. Oh and the cars they used to build eeew ;-) Don't get worked up over a film like this. Just smile at it or roll eyes and sigh. yes Clarkson sometimes go too far. But bear with him, he's probably lonely. After all the brits aren't connected to the mainland =)

  • Comment removed

  • @GeneralHoohah think the same thing. all those good cars destroyed for nothing, most of them not even that bad...

  • try Sunny GTiR Jeremy...

  • what's the song that starts at 4:10 ?

  • God, he looks so weird with a full head of hair.

  • Este mae si le dá DURO A LOS NISSAN!!!! jajajajajajaja

  • he's funnier than he used to be

  • What are you doing man?! The lifeless sad excuse of a 4 wheeled joke doesn't deserve a formal funeral. It's not even good enough to be set aflame by a jet engine powered drag car!

  • it use to be a mazda

  • Is he drunk?

  • Look at Jeremy's clothers, it's shitty and oldy like this Nissan sunny :)

  • I wish so i bad i could have done this to my sentra.(sunny). It was a good car. and tough to boot. But i HATED it, for every single reason Clarkson (and Hammond) mentioned. I can't stand cars that are merely a mode of transportation. They're simply a way for boring people, to get to their boring jobs, and back to their boring homes. No i couldn't do this to it, i had to settle with selling it to a scrap metal yard and watching it being crushed.

  • Nissan saw that and made the GTR.

  • MAN!!!!! That's hair-styles' bad.

  • It's raining Datsun cogs

  • ... said the man who loves Lancia! Enough said about Jeremy Clarkson. But must admit he has style

  • I love how he drive with the window open in the rain ;)

  • who agrees with me that he should do that to a prius?

  • @needler117 I completely agree with you that Jeremy Clarkson needs to destroy a prius in this fashion. But not just one, ALL OF THEM! Then burn the heap as a bon fire when finished.

  • Trebuchets were the coolest siege engines of its day, they could literary be used for tossing anything. And they were.

  • Even if you disagree with what Jeremy says, you have to give him credit for articulating his arguments in such a humorous and boistrous way. No-one can touch him for that. He is funnier than a lot of stand-up comedians out on the circuit (Michael Mcintrye, Lee evans are you listening!)

  • Where is this?

  • Now if that were an American car, you could drive it away after that

  • My friend's sunny is running even now good with 650,000km in the odo. I think its just because he didn't throw his car in the air like this.

  • the nissan wind erosion...

  • Did i see a trebuchet in the thumbnail?... yeahhh nevermind...

  • clarkson's flaw as a car reviewer is that he seems to expect to get a Rolls Royce at the price of a mercedes or Jaguar at the price of a Renault

  • he resembles gary moore

  • but on a real, those E series engines were some of the easiest engines to work on. run like a time clock too

  • i had an old 1, that same model. 4 dead shocks and scandi's like tommi mak!!! :D

  • And if you think you got a nasty taunting this time, you ain't heard nothin' yet! Silly English k-nigh-its! *raspberry*

  • Run Awayyy!!!

  • Also, Clarkson has probably never driven a Fiat Duna: THAT is definitely the worst car in the known universe!

  • Awww,poor Sunny!

  • I have a 1993 Nissan Sunny, n it runs perfectly.

  • even more amusing than this clip are all the people that get worked up about it...

  • Jermy Clarkson lost his hair, he started loving nissans.

  • Wow... What an absolute fuck-knuckle this guy is... How the unholy Hell is being nice, reasonable and "average" something to hate in either a person or a car? Indeed, all the traits he describes sound like things to aspire to to me and the "librarian" he describes sounds very much like a woman I struck up an engaging, throughly enjoyable conversation with about a month ago even though we hadn't previously met.

  • @SirBroadsword

As for the car itself, I agree with those people who decry Clarkson's utter lack of actual critique of it (and no, merely saying that you hate everything about it is NOT a proper crique) and frankly, it sounds to me like this car's only fault is that it is not in any way trying to excite "rev-heads" like Clarkson...

  • @SirBroadsword

This is as opposed to my mother's old Lada Samara 1300. If we can assume from Clarkson's (extremely superficial) descriptions that the Sunny is functional and decently reliable, then there is absolutely no way it can be inferior to the Samara 1300...

  • @SirBroadsword

The 1300 was an extremely heavy car with an engine designed for a MUCH lighter vehicle. Not only did this result in doors that were extremely painful to close on your leg, but that car also broke down CONSTANTLY, going through (IIRC) ten clutches and suffering from an overheated engine on multiple occasions. It was also barely capable of what you Americans would call "highway speeds"...

  • @SirBroadsword

The car also went through various other parts at grossly accelerated rates and cost an arm and a leg to maintain. If memory serves, its fuel economy wasn't too good either...

Now tell me, how can a "nice", "reasonable" car like the Sunny possibly be the worst car ever made when the Lada Samara 1300 exists?

  • This would be significantly more interesting if Clarkson bothered to offer an actual critique of the car - an explanation for his pique.

  • This guy is hilarious. "If it were a person it would name its child Janet and not eat sweets between meals. It would brush its teeth twice a day."

We must remember this is a product of its day. It is always popular to hate something that was popular ten years ago.

"It should have been called the Nissan Drizzle.... the Nissan Anchovy with Marzipan Coating." ROFL as you kids say....

  • @cavenoid Love Marzapan, not a fan of Anchovies.

  • @cavenoid That's Jeremy Clarkson for you.

  • Wasn't Impressed by this it wasn't that funny either, this is probably the bad thing about clarkson, it was kinda stupid too I mean what kinda audience is this aimed at that would find this entertaining definitely not your average joe or any average person who watches BBC except maybe for some FAT jerk with a messy living room who spends his life in front of the TV with a bag of chips

  • rest in pieces.... im not amused by that one

  • extraordenary style can be so good, but simplicity as well.

and something else, its not the cars fault that you hate it! its you CLARKSON!!!!

and if not you , than should kill its producers, not the car itsself.

you wouldnt kill someone because he only has 1 leg and doesnt function well.

no , you would kill the one who cut his missing leg!

  • average CAN be good you big brute!!!

    and not only looks count

1980 cars rule, today cars rule as well

  • Isn't it a bit ridiculous to be listening to Clarkson giving a lecture about styling? It's a pity people don't stop and think for a while. Just because some clown peers out at you from a tv screen most people tend to believe him. But take a closer look. Tight Levi's jeans, a denim shirt (tucked in) a beer belly and to cap it all......a PERM. Styling lessons from this guy? I don't think so.

  • nissan cool

  • The only really good Nissan Sunny (or Pulsar) is the GTiR...

The rest of them are reliable but average...

  • are you saying it gets 300 kml which is roughly 705 mpg, or are you saying the engine had 300,000km which is about 186,400 miles, which honest ly isnt that impressive considering my 89 thunderbird SC with a supercharger has230,000 mi one it, which is roughly 370,000 km, but i probably get maybe 20 mpg on the highway if i drive conservatively

  • @klesupra very true!!!

  • hi, the supra, skyline r32/r33/34. rx7, werent all that bad......evo x is not bland as well.....

  • In my opinion, Jezza often talks a load of shit and is a bit of an oath. But he know's what he's talking about here. Yet I think the Smart car was worse. 80's cars are OK.

  • Lmao Clarkson is a fucking legend. respect

  • =="...speechless...what can u expect for a cheap and low-end car...9 tons=9000kg man...9000x9.81=88290N..who can escape from its impact..nobody!

  • Fuck Jeremy Clarkson!!

    1980's cars rules!

new cars need to be send to scrap

  • @OlivettiPCS11fan go get one and drive it everyday.

  • @OlivettiPCS11fan fuck you then Stupid hippie!

  • @OlivettiPCS11fan user deleted by the stig

  • @OlivettiPCS11fan How articulate! I am very impressed with Mr. Clarkson's fantastic command of the language. From Canada, we love you Mr. C!

  • @OlivettiPCS11fan hay fuck you you got a ligting up mate

  • Could be, but the avverage Sunny wil live longer than Clarky.
