@Envergure it's called Altisimo. basically, you play above what the instrument is keyed to play by changing your ombichure and your throat. it takes a little while to learn it, it also helps if you can over tone on a clarinet (much harder to do on one than a sax), but i can get to about a double C above the staff and then it sort of fades into squeaks that aren't even close to notes.

I am loving the melody! Beautifully played. :) Makes me fall in love with my bass clarinet all over again and inspires me to keep playing. I've been a little frustrated with my instrument since the music I find is all usually orchestra related and not as fun to play. I love playing famous pop songs on the bass clarinet. What is the technical name for singing and playing at the same time? And don't say multiphonics. It doesn't quite apply to singing. Multiphonics is the "in between" voicing sound, like when you go for thumb C and hear the extra tone of F under it.

@MsContrabassClarinet usually people call it growling... its what ive always heard it to be, and call it. some people do call it multiphonics, but multiphonics are produced differently and arent as rough.

This song is flipping amazing. It pulls at my heart strings. I love the bass clarinet SO MUCH.
