  • You can certainly substitute pomfret with any other fish variety. It is advisable to use ginger and garlic pastes instead of putting them in chopped form.

  • Well jeera does add a new dimension and enhances the taste. I had first tasted this dish at a malayali friend's place and his wife had used jeera and since I loved the dish I replicated.
