few years ago I did a 20% tca at 2 layers to remove sun spots. worked at. however the spots came back. is there a peel that will provide the removal of sun damage with less down time? i'm okay with it taking more treatments

@josephga007 Yes, and I am sorry that I missed this post. I am going to suggest our new Mandelic & Azelaic Peel 22. Mandelic acid is excellent for pigmentation issues, but the best part is that it is quite LOW on the irritation factor. Mandelic is a nice large molecule, but it has a higher pk level (strength) than glycolic acid. It is a great choice for you to do as a weekly peel.

Thanks for uploading such a helpful video! Can I still use an antiperspirant (aluminum chloride solution) or bleaching cream after a glycolic/TCA peel on my underarms? How about using lotion after treatment on my arms?

@PowerNapGirl - I believe it truly depends on how irritated your skin is. If your underarm skin is not irritated, you should be able to use a deodorant/antiperspirant. *If you feel stinging in any way though you may have to forgo for a few days. I would not recommend any other "active" product to be applied to the peeled area until it has healed. I would definitely include a bleaching cream in that lineup. Wait until everything is "back to normal" and then continue with treatment.

I already posses some Jan Marini Products that goes by the name:

• Bioglycolic Bioclear: Acne Treatment Lotion (2% Salicylic Acid)

• Bioglycolic face cleanser

• Transformational face cream.

Is this percentage simply too low, to do any good for me?

Does it at all penetrate the epidermis and unclog the pores?

Is this a long result kinda thing?

Could you be so kind and explain to me: What is the main difference between these products and the ones with a higher percentage...?

@KindnessIsInOurPower -- Hello. I did try to look up these products you are listing. I was unable to find a percentage of acid in the Cleanser or a pH level. I will not be able to tell you if the acid is potent enough. Though, sometimes it doesn't have to be strong - just the right type of acid for you. I can state that our AB Cleanser (for acne-prone skin types) has 11% glycolic/salicylic/lactic acids in it to aid in control. If the 2% lotion is not enough, try our Blemish & Oil Control w/3%.

@KindnessIsInOurPower - Salicylic acid is oil-soluble. This is great news for you! Not so much for those clogged pores and old acne red marks. The acid will dig deep into those clogs to help remove the blackheads. **I am going to HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you start using the Vitamin C High Octane Serum to help with the redness you are dealing with**. Even though you do not have Rosacea, the C is excellent for redness in the skin. It is also just fine for acne-prone skin.

Yes, I do not have Rosacea (at least that's what two of my dermatologists told me).

Though, what I do have, is: Very active Sebaceous Glands on my nose and cheeks, and I also have acne like red dots on my nose.

The redness on my cheeks is a somewhat permanent redness, though as I previously said the condition on my nose is just a very persistent case of acne or the like.

@KindnessIsInOurPower - Ok, you have a couple of options here. The peels are great for your issues. I am thinking that a SALICYLIC peel may be a better option than GLYCOLIC for you - since it is anti-inflammatory - and that will be beneficial to all your redness/inflammation. We have a 3% Mini peel that is great for using a few times per week. The next step is our Salicylic 15%. It has a sting to it - but its GREAT for helping stubborn acne.

@KindnessIsInOurPower - You will want to follow directions very carefully. I realize that you are 17, but I would like to see an adult in the room aiding you in a smooth application. ;D

It is actually quite easy. Wash, dry, prep, apply solution as you would a toner basically. NO dripping though!

You will have a TIMER in the room with you. Set it for the first time period on your direction sheet. At that point - rinse well with cold water for a few minutes.

Follow directions.

I am planning on purchasing a 30 % Glycolil Peel from your store in a matter of days.

I am 17 years of age, and male.

My problems are: Uneven skin texture, Thick skin on cheeks and lower part of nose, Acne on nose, Redness on both cheeks and nose (especially prominent on cheeks) and blackheads on nose.

@KindnessIsInOurPower - Hello. I feel that the 30 Glycolic would be the best place for you to start. My only concern is that you state that you have redness on both cheeks. I am not sure if you are referring to just red "spots' left over from a blemish, or if you are dealing with Rosacea. Have you been checked out for this? Rosacea is not an ideal skin type for peels. Rosacea also can have "acne like" symptoms, and you may not realize you have it. Please get this diagnosed before you start.

@makeupcraze21 - Yes, absolutely you can. You will find that you need a higher percentage of acid for a body application though. The skin on your body is quite a bit thicker. I would suggest a 50% or higher for most body parts. Are you dealing with KP? That usually falls on the upper arms. A chemical peel along with intense hydration - such as Emu oil or Shea butter - works very well.
