I just tried power kiting for the first time yesterday, during an extreme wind event in the northeast US. I went for a brutal across a frozen field before I learned to control the lift properly, but I'm now completely hooked. After looking at these videos, I think I'll stick with the 4.0 for now!

Not possible - believe me - I've been there! He's strapped in by a waist harness and by the time you can pull the quick release you're already too high to fall safely.

This is quite a famous clip - often seen with a guy in a top hat doing an intro beforehand. I understand the guy survived with only a few bumps and bruises. There have been posts supposedly from him on a number of kiting forums about it

ive taken a 6.4m up in a force 8 and being 9 1/2 stone i got some great flight time but nothing like that video. jumping out of a hot air ballon wow! but the guy who went up the dunes and hit the tents is a bit stuipshould of dumped the kite way before, not for his safety but others.
