There was an article in Goldmine , I want to say , early '96 , because that was when I saw them (Sans Erik Braunn , who no longer wanted any part of it, but , with Ingle , Bushy , and Dorman.) , where they listed the MANY different lineups of the group , noting there were others , still , many unauthorized , and w/no actual band members. Thanks for putting this up. Good footage.

What a bunch of assholes in the crowd and people that could care less. If they had proper management,.. this gig would never have happened.. If you have more of the show, Please post it!. We need more live stuff from the '88 reunion tour.This band should have been huge.I mean look how long they lived . We should have 10 to 20 albums from them instead of 6.How about an expanded live album or box set??? R.I.P. Eric.

I saw "iron butterfly" in 1988 - I was really into the heavy, classic rock and was just a teen in charlotte nc - great fun but i don't think there was a single original band member; the keyboardist was a kid about my age lol

@keithnc67 If you saw them in '88. You saw the original band, Not together since 1970; You were very lucky> I saw them too and have a whole show from the tour.

@TheJetfighter666 oh ok well it was not 88 that I saw them then - I did search for the band linup for that time period and in 87 the band was totally different - fun but not the original band! So I must have seen them in 87...

I'd heard about Iron Butterfly regrouping in the late '80s, but this is the first footage I've actually seen. The sound is a bit different, but the song remains the same.... Great stuff!

I have a decent video from Feb 88 they played in Baltimore I think. They do all older stuff. Nothing from Metamorphosis though sadly. I'll try to get a digital copy (on vhs) and post some of it on here.

@BestMusicExpert Metamorphosis is not the orig. group. Why would they do songs from that album? This is the reunion with all 4 orig. mem's.

@TheJetfighter666 The group was always the "original" group, just with changes. 3 of the 4 guys here were on Metamorphosis as opposed to 2 of the 4 being on the first album Heavy which they played songs from on this tour....

@BestMusicExpert I guess............. I never liked the last album. Not a fan of Mike Pinera, Although I did like the second Album by Thee Image!. Metamorphosis WAS the beginning of one of the BEST bands ever CAPTAIN BEYOND !

@PsychedelicTeen I know you from posting all that GREAT Butterfly stuff ! I own a full show from "88. It starts out horrible. They are completely out of tune.[Are You Happy] then give a pretty good show. The show is from Baltimore I believe.I don't have the knowledge to put it up now.Maybe in the fuurte.Some other dude said he has the same show, maybe he will post it. Butterfly 4 -ever !!
