I am proud to be an American and that you all are afforded the luxury to speak you mind and say these horrific things about the men and women who protect our liberties. America is the greatest country on this planet and everyone knows that!

Why should we be proud to be called American's ? We are a country that illegally detains people and tortures them so they will confess to anything and we can use that to justify invading a helpless country . The American flag is an embarassment.
Then move! Everyone always complains about the US, and us torturing....Never hear any of you folks condemning terrorists who cut people's heads off!! Now that's friggin torture!! Don't you remember 9-11?? And it was no inside job...."Any fool can condemn, complain, and criticize...and most fools do"--Ben Franklin Nice song Happy Jack!
Thanks Steve for your comments. From your comments 2 months ago, I followed back to your channel and discovered Alex. It's pretty exciting to see what he can do already at 12. What a bright future he'll have in music. You should get him on "America's Got Talent". He would blow up the stage with what he can do on guitar. Peace.
Your an embarrassment...idiot..my brother died for you to be a freaking moran, trust me..I wish stupid people like you would go before him but I guess thats why I'm not an American Soldier...YOUR A PIECE OF SHIT>>>>>> GO TO HELL
Nicely done. Kind a reminds me of U2's: The Hands That Built America. For some reason your recording sounds very muffled on my setup. Thanks for including the lyrics, they're beautiful.
It's only my opinion but I would love to hear this with the guitar volume dropped down a notch and the vocals louder and clearer. And, you could really beef it up using Garage Band and a controller to add some other instruments.
Your guitar had me stumped. Thanks for that info too. Thought it was a Gretsch.
I pray every day that who ever, kills, brings tears and victimizes innocent people. Is to burn in hell! We all believe in the same god, may god do justice on all. Unfortunately at the time of technology and 21st century we are still repeating the history. Killing each other like animals. We need to find out why is this happening? peace?????? I hope we have it some day in this life time.
just checking something here with you. You said and I quote "I pray every day that who ever, kills, brings tears and victimizes innocent people. Is to burn in hell! ". Do you believe that Mr Bush and Mr Blair and those soldiers who killed and maimed will also burn in hell or do you have like a two tier system of what is wrong and what is right.
this song is beautiful, listing to it brought tears to my eyes, all to often we lose sight of how great it is to be an american, and this song reminded me of that day, the family lost, and the heroes. thank you so very much for writing this song. it is an amazing song and i love it, thank you :)
Thanks for your comments. The emotion I was feeling as the song came to me was very strong. I actually had tears as I wrote it. For a time, I could not sing it without the same tears. Now as Barack Obama takes office and we face the challenges of the future, I am again truely proud to be called an American. Peace.
Thanks for the comments. Yes all original. It's difficult to craft a song. Most songwriters agree that they are merely a channel. Life events produce many impressions and those impressions ultimately lead to an expression...the song. I was at a songwriter's workshop last month. The speaker said he was house moving and carrying boxes when a song came to him. He had to set the boxes down and write out the song. Interestingly, the song had nothing to do with moving. ;-)
Thanks for your comment. The distorion was intentional to convey the urgency of the music but I ready need to do a no distortion version. I will try to get a "clean" acoustic version on YT in the next little while. Peace.
Ringraziamenti per il vostro commento. Ho guardato i vostri video sui terremoti in Italia. Un certo giorno vorrei visitare Assisi ed ancora vedere ancora la città del san Francis.Thanks.
Thanks for your comment. I have watched your videos on earthquakes in Italy. Some day I would like to visit Assisi and see the city of Saint Francis. Thanks again.
you are welcome... I would like to visit USA too... I think to start with New York (and visit where too many people died on 09/11) and then I'll visit other beautiful cities such as Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, etc)... sorry bad english... have a nice day
Impressed w/ your performance. Really like the powerful chord progressions, especially the f-chord progression. The lyrics are well written and I agree with the sentiments. Vocal level needs to increase and the guitar has a metal clanging tone to it. Overall, I enjoyed the song. Check out my 911 guitar blues instrumental and let me know what you think.
Awake-n-aware, Thanks for your comments. I wish I had a higher quality video camera which would improve the image and sound pickup. I did however try to get an edge on the guitar tone in order to add immediacy to the song as I learned guitar playing by playing/singing 60's protest songs many years ago, i.e. "the eastern world, it is explodin', violence flarin' and bullets loadin'" (Search YouTube: Eve of Destruction - Barry McGuire). Peace.
From your heart? Thanks for posting lyrics Seems like yo have healed from it (911) if you went back you would get more emotion I like Neil too but he rights his songs and don't think too much keep on rockin !!
Thanks Davisplays for your comment. As a matter of fact, the song began life as an acoustic song but the emotional power comes thru better with electric I thought. At some point in the future I will upload an acoustic version for you to hear. Peace, Happyjack63

Thanks Brian for your comments. The song views are growing daily and are averaging 140+ views a week. I love YouTube as a vehicle to share a song like this with the nation and the world!
intersting song. i was affected by 911 2, but im not proud to be an american because of a war thats killed thousands but very few no really its true purpose
Thanks for the comments. 9/11 was a slap in the face to all Americans. The song has a strong tone but it's challenging people to love and to hold fast to those beliefs. For you that might mean being opposed to the war. My hope was to call people to rekindle in themselves their own good values and redouble their efforts to promote love, and caring for others. 9/11 held many examples of courage, love and sacifice and that's why I'm proud to be called an American. Peace.
Thanks so much for your comments. The guitar chords are probably pretty obvious..Am, F, G then the chorus is C, G, F. The events of 9/11/2001 left me physically and emotionally drained and stunned. This song was my expression and journey to emotionally get back on top of those emotions and feelings at the time.
