  • Bomber crewmembers went thorugh a special Hell that was handmade for them. They couldn't escape the can. They couldn't run away. The plane was their coffin, their hope, their dreams, and their salvation. No wonder they came out of the war so fucked up but so enlightened and free.

  • This really does not work with this song.

  • I normally don't hit the "dislike" button, but you messed up a classic.

  • The Gunners Dream

  • The Final Cut would have been a better album if Rick Wright had played keyboards.Michael Kamen and Andy Bown could almost duplicate his sound but there's only one Rick Wright keyboard sound

  • Dude, the vid and song are grest, but the very beginning of the vid, like, first 10-15 seconds are FREAKIN AWSOME!!!!!!

  • oh. now i get it

i've owned a ghetto bootleg tape for decades

bought the blu-ray and thought it sucks

  • teycat approves

  • Oh, an ad. Good bye.

  • people are angry about this?

love floyd, love heavy metal. what's not to like?

i found the track was suiting for the segment of footage used.

y'all acting like heavy metal had some groundbreaking plot or something XD

  • yeah but the sound track would be different from the movie i have several sound tracks that dont match plus this segment would have more meaning to pink floyd i

  • 15 Prefabricated- Trust, 16 Blue Lamp- Stevie Nicks

  • Pink Floyd was not in the original soundtrack, i have the album from '81, and track listing is as follows 1 Heavy Metal-sammy hagar,2 Heartbeat-riggs,3 working in a coal mine- devo, 4 veteran of the psychic war- B.O.C.,5 reach out- Cheap trick,6 Heavy Metal(takin a ride) Don felder, 7 True Companion- Donald Fagen 8 Crazy-Nazerath, 9 radar rider- Riggs, 10 Open arms-journey, 11 Queen Bee- G.F. Railroad, 12 I Must Be Dreamin'- Cheap Trick, 13 the Mob Rules- Black Sabbath, 14 All of you- Don Feld

  • @weeble29 i forget if it was on vhs or dvd but,... if you check the extras.. you will find that pink floyd was intended to be in it but the move as well as the soundtrack ran to long. It was going to come on between Captain Sternn & gremlins (which became B17) & it was decided to cut them & if i remember, another song as well from another band it is done badly but you can find it on youtube

  • @paul62462 , thanks for the info, I have long given my copy away to a friend in mexico

  • i love it

  • Man this song sooo does NOT work here

  • and so the nazi zombies virus was released

  • this is from Heavy Metal its not a video he made

  • This is an awesome piece of film making!!

  • lol so ya re saying this pink floyd tune is shit ... lol so it means the entire history of music is lesser than shit, when you check some nowadays music ....

  • Eh, I really see what you're trying to do... I think it's clever.

But this song, REALLY dosen't work with this movie.

Granted, I suppose it kind of does for just this segment.

But... With a movie with the intent of it being a bad ass gore, hot babes, drugs, and kick ass movie. I could understand why people are pissed off.

  • 5.36 = gay rape

  • Because B-17s did night missions.....

  • @FutureMarine1775USA i think they may have joined the brits on occasion, not sure though

  • Comment removed

  • @FutureMarine1775USA B-17's did primarily daylight missions, the Brits bombed at night. (sources--wikipedia B-17, and military channel "Wings of WWII"). Cheers.

  • @shalloend I know, I was being sarcastic.

  • круто , уловил дядька тему и в мультике и в музыке... я думаю литр вискаря он съел перед этим

  • @MrJeremyPratt да, и он, вероятно, и сделал.

  • poor soldiers

  • why did they became skeletons

  • @TheMilanMiki the green orb also called the lok nar (if i recall correctly) is some evil entity or consciousness, that also has some evil powers turned the dead in to the zombies...

  • You fucking ruined this scene with your shitty music edit

  • @ynotdrol2 i agree this is shit...

  • @ynotdrol2 you are a buttplug pink floyd WAS in the original soundtrack although not this song... he was expressing his idea. so, you can like/dislike & if it is not your fancy, change the channel. But, if YOU think you can do better then do it or shutup!

  • @paul62462 You don't get it... It can't be done better than this and this is complete shit. It shouldn't have been done.

  • @paul62462 ... huh? did i miss something?

how can Pink Floyd be in the original soundtrack?

as in before it was offically released to the public?

  • PrankZabba, Okay, I explained this improperly. Pink Floyd WAS to be in the original movie but because the movie became too long the segment with Pink Floyd as well his other songs and segments were removed. I myself did not know this until I had bought the special edition DVD that was available a long long, time ago. If you look online and it takes some time to do it I even had a hard time finding it you will find info on this. I hope this helps.

  • Very symbolic to real war and beautiful, wow! This knocked me off feet! For critical thinkers!

  • @mucho this was from Heavy Metal. The song was completely inappropriate. Its not suppose to be symbolic, its suppose to be hardcore brutal death drunken i dont give a fuck die.

  • would rather here Don Felder's Takin' a ride instead.............

  • @ViciousAlienKlown Then I would suggest going and looking that up.

  • this was my favortie cartoon in the movie!

  • thank so much for pink Floyd music!!

  • thats now heavy metal

  • Comment removed

  • Love Floyd and this was one of the best movies I've ever seen.

  • @silvereagle2061

Me too, you grew up with this movie too? i saw it on TBS back in 93 when i was 12 with Vampire Hunter D, American Pop, Watership Down, Robot Carnival, Rock and Rule, American pop and Hey Good Looking and loved them all. I even taped Rock and Rule in it's uncut MGM version on video including buying a copy of Vampire Hunter D and Robot Carnival then bought HM in 1996 when i was 15 as i finally saw it uncut and uncensored.

  • Unbelievable sax right there, what else is there to say, floyd is pure genius

  • BOMBERS LOOK SO AWESOME WHEN DAMAGED IN THE AIR :O

  • Awesome clip and awesome song!

  • so tutut

  • It,s like Naiz Zombies From Call of Duty world at war...

  • Creepy ass shit..

  • A good mashup is like a dream feeling. And you are You’re really just part of …

    Lucid the novel dot com

  • I like the pink song but I think don felder take a ride on heavy metal was the best choice for this clip

  • Yeah, I'm sure a lot of you have heard about watching The Wizard of Oz. While listening to The Wall, at least I think thats what it was. Not sure if its a myth but anyway/.... this really goes well, KUDOS. Love this scene.

  • @Krondelo Dark Side of the Moon.

  • when the Sax comes in I always have a big toothy grin spread across my face.

  • I'd call it "Gunner's nightmare ". It perfectly fits movie and song. What's horror turns into melancholy because of stupidness of war. I don't know how better is to cut the movie off in the end with a shocked faced pilot.

  • he looks all shocked because after escaping his zombie ridden plane he finds that the island he is on is litterd with war plane wrecks...as well as hordes of undead solders...

    *cue scary music.

  • Really incredible. Job well done.

  • lol there is a south park episode where some dude gets high and sees this too!

  • @cliffthelightning enough with the south park version please

  • When I wake surrounded by the flak, guns blazing and bullets everywhere, when I die wash me out with a hose, and tell my mama the hero has gone home--my version of Death of a Ball Turret Gunner.

  • horaay for the bomber's

  • Purely briliant!! this is one of my favorite songs ever created, and it works perfectly with the vid. I honestly like this vid more than the offical vid of the gunners dream. GREAT work im luvin it :)

  • I love this movie and I love the pink floyd song but I don't think it matches up that much. The first 45 seconds was pretty spot on, and when the dude's guts came out that was synced well. I've experimented a lot with this and concluded the following

  • Umm... for me it should be Avro Lancaster, or other bomber from night air raids.

  • its a great movie. sowa it when i was like... uh i guess 5 or 6. it was great. for the kids deffinatly! but i loved those awesome rocking tits!

  • "Fantastic"

  • That was awesome!!! Well done!!!

  • and hold on to the dream

  • that was so beautiful it made me cry.

  • He was stranded on an island somewhere in the South Pacific surrounded by a lot of zombies.

  • that was perfect... damn

    pro

  • Brilliant! One of my favorite 80's albums with one of my favorite 80's movies!

  • reminds me of call of duty's nazi zombies

  • This is shit!! you fucked it up, you fucking moron.

  • I think there's a lot of potential here, with a bit of editing, these two could make a sublime collage.

  • wow you know

  • Check Out: PINK FLOYD - "THE FINAL CUT"

  • Now this is an awesome animated movie for mature audiences, anyone who liked it should check out Pink Floyd The Wall, American Pop, Fire and Ice, Akira and Ralph Bakshi's works.

  • this part in the south park esp. "major boobage" is AWESOME

  • The movie is called "Heavy Metal" for a fucking reason! This is blasphemy!

  • Yeah...I love this song and I really dig this part of the movie Heavy Metal, but these two just don't seem to gel...

  • that song i believe is for his father, awsome song. I always thought waiting for the worms would of went good bu that was just about perfect.

  • surreal, sad, and beautiful

  • the glowing orb is taken directly from bombers accounts

they believe the glowing orbs, are NOT UFO's but in fact, Nazi craft, designed to bring down bombers and not be destroyed (i.e. reuseable, not missiles)

also scientists believe the glow is from a super heated coil, heat coming from electrifying this coil

i forget what the coil is called, but if you look up levitation coil, you can find it

    its pretty amazing

  • Do you mean "Kugelblitze"?

  • its almost comical the way this .mp3 synchs with these visuals

  • Excellent!

  • Awesome animated movie now set to an awesome Pink Floyd song.

  • thanks for telling me the end

  • what happend at the end when he was like so shockt

  • He looks into this yard full of airplane wreckage, kind of like a junkyard and sees all the skeletons climbing through it and then they come after him.

  • and where is the video to that??

  • @CG92965 ..... that sucks

  • @codeblue122

    what suck?

  • @codeblue122 how they all die

  • @CG92965 does he die at the end?

  • @CG92965 The Gods of War Clamn him..

  • @blewitt5160 he saw a plane yard. and because of htat glowing FUCK ball it brought the dead pilots all back to life. and they eated him

  • @blewitt5160 zombies everyone was zombies was good movie

  • @blewitt5160 you should check this movie out it is called Heavy Metal bunch of short stories really a trip :D

  • awesome

  • So sad ;(

  • Another Great Sync Up

  • song is to depressing

  • It's not the same without the original music.

  • this is a joke, not 2 b mean. i can't even watch it all.

  • you are a fool

  • anybody old enough to have watched it when it first came out??

  • my dad said he was 14 and snuck out to see it. he showed me it and he said it was exeactly the same

  • I was 15, it was the first tape I bough for my Sanyo Walkman clone, and I still have it on my iPod! You could see a R movie under 17 then and nobody gave a shit. :)

  • Oh the good ol' days.

  • Awesome to watch stoned. Appreciates the sone more lol hahaha j/k

  • Fucking awesome! Brings back many memories as a kid.

    Good stuff!

  • =-)

  • Man I always come back to this, one of my favourite songs and it fits so perfectly, one of this rare moments of cinema and music slotting together as one. Perfect.

  • Thanks! It blows me away how many people have watched and commented on this. Glad to see other people enjoying the cinematographic/musical fit!

  • Great movie ,great music who could resist!!

  • Should also check out the original, Don Felder's song "Heavy Metal" kicks ass.

  • honestly this reminded me of pink floyd awesome where can i see the rest of heavy metal

  • Just rent it. Make sure you get the version that came out in 1982 and not the 2000 version.

  • na thanks anyways i found a website that has the 1982 version

  • what site is that comic?

  • @CG92965

does this movie also remind you of Fifth Element and Avatar at times as well CG? in fact Cameron and Besson are huge fans of both magazine and movie of HM and used them as some of their inspirations to their movies.

  • The song is actually from Pink Floyd's last album "Final Cut"

  • i know i figured it out when i went back listening through my collection

  • Had some after that.

  • correction: it was the last pink Floyd album with Roger Waters.

  • Which makes it the last pink floyd album. Definately.

  • @comicreaper Er, its an overdub. This song wasnt in Heavy Metal because pink floyd isnt heavy metal. Songs like Heavy Metal by Sammy Hagar are though =)

  • Saw this classic in a haze of late night hash smoke at the Towne Cinema in Ottawa seemingly a lifetime ago, thanks for the memories...

  • I was gonna' say the video didn't match up right, until I saw the part where the gunner loses his insides before falling out of his chair. INTENSE!! Haven't seen that scene for twenty years. Good song too.

  • VERY, VERY AWESOME JOB ON THIS VIDEO! Although heavy metal is a great movie, this looks like it is straight from "The Wall". Excellent job dude.

  • WOW.. MAN oh MAN.. the thing I loved most about your use of this particular segment for the music is that the dark cynical macabre nature of the images, realllly promotes the lyrical power..as well as tapping into that same feel that Gerald Scarffe gave to "The Wall" the movie

Great job man..nice. It's the kind of feel i'd expect from another Waters' Scarffe colaberation.

  • Thanks for your response! I actually put this together for the first time over 20 years ago and just redid it because I thought the video and audio fit like a glove. Nice to know there's someone else out there who gets it.

    Thanks!
