It seemed Nipsey was trying to be as careful as he could, along with the others, to name NBC game shows more than the "other" networks where ever possible. NBC had a great block of shows with $ale, Concentration, Wheel, Scrabble, Super Password and WordPlay. CBS had Feud or Pyramid, Card Sharks & Price, ABC only had Feud til it went off, then it seemed they had no game shows. Sadly major network daytime game shows are a dying breed. LMAD is ok but not really good for 60 minutes, 30 is better
@wdm1219 Keep in mind, too, that they might have been looking for those that were currently running during that time. My mind went to Scrabble, too, but I don't know when that premiered on NBC, and I don't know when CBS premiered the new Card Sharks. And they had to be actual NETWORK shows and not syndicated shows (something that gets very confused).
As I recall, this episode was taped June 1, 1984 but Body Language already hit the airwaves before this week of episodes made it to air, so this clip here was from the middle of June 1984.
What a question, what a question. That was one of those questions that was more factual than a survey, making it easier to obtain the seven-straight jackpot... if it was still there. It was another easy one that would set up a chance for a total wipeout here and it did. Nipsey & Christopher knew their stuff; with Nipsey you can't go wrong. Brad & Marcia seemed like good players but I don't know; congrats on Brad for his TV debut. A 5 star question for a 2 star Celebrity Hot Potato.
Everytime I tell someone that there was a game show called Hot Potato, no one I mean no one remembers the show. I used to watch this in re-runs on USA in the morning right before another forgotten game show called Face The Music. Thanks for the memories.
I truly remember this show. I remember those reruns on USA back in 1990. Surprisingly, I was born in October 1984, almost four months after its cancellation. This episode was 28 days out from cancellation.
I don't think it was an issue of it being impossible, it just seemed less fair with celebrities involved. Imagine the 7-Straight Jackpot was in play for this question...That contestant would be getting a cash bonus for giving a whopping TWO answers. The celebrities actually did most of the work.
And on the flip side of the coin, a very deserving contestant could get screwed out of it by being paired with two idiots (which I guess is what you were thinking, too).

Wow this show rocks. I was nine years old when it was cancelled. They should bring it back, though.

They got 7 straight answers without a miss. If only the "7 Straight Jackpot" was still installed.

Guess the producers felt that the stars couldn't have that kind of run, so they scraped it.
The last 7 straight jackpot was won just in time, on the final civilian teams episode.
