You wanted to show the Mets winning the 1986 World Series? How about also showing us the Jets beating the Raiders in the 1968 AFL Championship Game, also played at Shea Stadium, before "Broadway Joe" took the Jets to their only World Championship over the Heavily Favored Colts in Super Bowl III.
Excellent effort and loving tribute to Shea. A couple fo things though, regarding pictures of Mets players, I'm curious about the omission of Tom Seaver - you know, 'The Franchise"? Great photos of the Billy Joel concert - but I would have used "I saw her standing there" rather thn "Hard Days Night" - which would have been more apppropriate than "Hello Goodbye" during the Beatles at Shea bit. But I loved it anyway - just picky when it comes to Mets, Shea,, and Beatles!
by far the mets are good really good at blowing games to the end of the season to the phillies. they are by far the worse time now. phillies have a better ballclub now. They can't beat the Phillies.
You did a real nice job on this, it brought back a lot of memories. I'm not complaining, but you left out The Police concert of August 1983. Sting later said "We've sold out Shea Stadium, what else is there left to do?"
when did shea stadium undergo its face lift when it went from gray to blue on the outside and the seat colors were changed? did the mets have to play at a different stadium when this happened?
@VietKamoe yeah.... i know ur post is from 2 years ago, but who hit the FIRST Met home run at Shea Stadium? tell me the answer and Ill send u a tee shirt from my band. Good Luck....
i appreciate that -- it's hard to try and keep track of where they come from--if you like -- I can attach your site to future Met videos i post. -- I can even add it to that one if you'd like
no offense -- just did a search for shea/met pics -- didn't look to see where they came from -- just tried to put a nice video together for my favorite park
Awesome video! But pictures of Oliver Perez, Fernando Tatis and Mike Pelfrey??? Come on man!

The original wooden seats were removed after the 1979 season and replaced with plastic seats.

@gullwing14 It was done in the early 80's and it looked horrible all those years.
I miss the orange and blue blocks around the outside of the stadium.
