  • danny hamel was faster rip danny

  • @mulletsrule3388 The careers of Smith and Hamel overlapped by a year or two, and Hamel never beat Smith, but he came close a few times. But later, even Smith stated that Hamel became faster eventually, and was the fastest of all time.

  • @CougarButtes and it was sad that danny was killed in his prime by such a stupid incident in mexico

  • which ever one it is its hauling ass fo sho

  • Agreed, haulin' ass fo shure... My bad, I suppose. My 600 had a red seat too and looked identical. I must have have been a little biased, because of it. I was so stoked when the LC4600 came out in 1990, that I sold my 1987 two stroke Husky 500XC just to have that badass fourstroker. Funny how four strokes are all the rage today and I was an oddball back then. I was sooo pleased with mine that I never went back to a two stroke... Funny how I forgot that he was racing the Monster 540 back then

  • Funny to watch seeing Dan riding a KTM 600LC4DXC. I still have my 1990 KTM 600 DXC and am in the process of restoring it. My last race on it was the 1996 BITD Vegas to Reno...

  • too bad its actually a 540 2 stroke !!!

  • If that's a red seat I think it's a 500. I heard after the 540 came out that he switched back to the 500, but kept the 540 decals on the bike. The 500 was faster, but the 540 was easier to ride.

  • could be right !! I actually have a 540 the first year it came out still in storage red seat and all :-)

  • OK, so there was a red seat 540, I didn't know that. The only thing we don't know is when he switched back to the 500.
