this was made alone time ago. Steam Shop roster. #844,3985,E951,Snowplow 900082, 5511,838 (note Steam Shop is going to put them on display),6936,and Sw1800s UPY96 and 122
I spoke with Steve Lee about it years ago and he mentioned its, the big boy's, are to heavy for alot of todays rail. And to long for most of the curves, and would need a stop order to rtun on some curves to prevent ramming oncoming trains. With the "swingin" nose.
I think they're the only ones that they run. Remember this was the mid 80's. I know of those two & the Big Boy they have parked in one of the city parks near down town. I remember it being in great shape (at least from the outside). Wouldn't it be something if they restored one of them?? That would really be something!
i wish 1243 was running again and 5511. that place looks so cool

838 is used for spare parts for her running sister 844. Their other sister is in Council Bluffs, Iowa but I forgot her #.

@dylanbobby1 There's another 800 in Ogden, Utah.

@UPTRAIN And 838 has a better boiler condition than 844, of course becuase 844 is in constant use, and 838 hasn't been used in over 40 some years.

wippydobo321 2 years ago
@wippydobo321 5511 would have to be running engine light downhill to make 45.
