Im not saying your wrong but why r you trapping out....there's like barley any wind. I come from the Hobie world and only trap out why we would fly a hull but on a monohull you want to just keep it planing. in this wind couldn't you just do this by hiking out just like the skipper is doing? Not saying your wrong but just wondering....

Sorry but your wrong there mate, in the 470 and 420 alike you want the crew out on the trapeze in as lighter wind as possible as once the crew is out on the wire it is easier for him/her to get their weight forward therefore making the boat go faster. The boat actually planes better from my experience with somebody on the wire. This comes from 4 years of youth 420 sailing and now started a 470 campaign :)
