  • Wait, isnt it smart to have an 200mw laser? You Can signal with it over 3km and start fire with it.

  • i got the same buck and the solo in a collectors tin

  • Glow stick ... Terrible idea , it does not work if it is already cracked

  • Man can survive in wilderness if prepared, but can wilderness itself survive the endless onslaught of human overpopulation and resource consumption? There is a reason wilderness has to be "protected" - from people.

  • will u pm me a list of what u have in your kit becouse i have made up to 7 kits and i am makeing anoughter plz send me a list

  • wth was that sound at 3:38?

  • @low72 LOL I noticed that too. I thought a tse fly was buzzing around my head

  • 2:27 for a second there I thought it was coke lol

  • I know you have strike anywhere matches but you should consider gluing or taping a match striker on that little match tube or keep one in the tube

  • army pistol belt and alice clips are the best invention ever!

  • If u want a really nice survival kit pouch they you can get an EMT pouch online for about $20

  • where did you get that bag

  • i am missing basic medical stuff...at least CA tourniquet, some antipyretics and analgetics and sterile bandages. Otherwise, a great kit and inspiration.

  • Comment removed

  • add a blanket.. its usefull for tents etc.

  • If u ever decide to make a bigger kit put mre's in it

  • I read quite a few comments knocking this video and the man who made it. Think for a second; this is only one person's selection of kit for the last resort - he doesn't pretend to be giving the definitive selection of survival gear or try to tell you what to carry for the same eventuality, it's just his preference. If you can do better, let's see it on here and commentators can 'discuss' your ideas.

  • too much firepower, all that is actually needed is the ferrocerium rod

  • get rid of that paracord. Get yourself some dyneema 12 strand 3/8" cord. 20,000lb tensile strength, and it floats.

  • Nice kit, workin on something like this myself. I have the same knife and it's damn near razor sharp right out of the box

  • Where did u get the pouch???????????????????????

  • @pittkid42 You can find it at Rothco's website. Item #2025. Good luck.

  • dude, i have the same knife as you :D

  • "some people have said I need more firelighting tools"

yeah, most of this kit is fire starting oriented... bic, firesteel, candle, magnifying glass, petrol jelly cotton balls, tri-oxene fuel bar, batteries, paper... if you can't get a fire started with those, you don't need to be in the damn woods!

  • where did you buy your pouch

  • where did you buy your pouch?

  • Very well thought out kit sir. Look forward to more videos!

  • Informative. I have been looking to put one of these together. Thank you.

  • great kit

  • where did u get the pouch specifically?

  • uffle knife

  • Ever think about getting a little fixed blade knife in there .. Like a mora? The knife for me is the most important tool., and your fire steel is awesome ... That's giant! You have a cool kit for fitting on a belt .

  • This helped me out alot!!! Nice kit

  • Please demonstrate how to turn a sheet of tin foil into a cooking pot, stable enough to boil water in. I'd love to see this! :)

  • @equitably Copy and paste this into youtube search. Yes this is my video.

    watch?v=O-Uu9_6E8Po

  • @equitably You will more than likely run across trash, like pop and beer cans in the woods, in campfire rings, and on the side of the road. Cut off the top, clean out, fill with water and boil in the fire and have a method of moving the hot can.

  • I think this would be a good kit to have in a glove box or trunk of a car.

  • Amazing kit!

Can you kill the annoying fly? :D

  • nice video.. i think its good how you basically have doubles of everything in some form in case things go bad.. i know you said no suggestions, and im sure you probably have alot more experience than me - but 3 things i would definaltely add for anyone else looking to make a kit. - 1- mechanix type work gloves 2 - asprin 3 - leatherman. just my 2 cents. thanks for the video.

  • thanks for sharing. gave me some ideas for a kit im making. about the only thing i have on my list that you didnt mention is a sharpie.

  • where did you buy the pouch from?

  • ok buddy that good ... but wheres the little emergency food? you sound fat .. your gonna need umm shit ...most likely a whole box of the shits.....fuck that dude... i keep a machette on my military pistol belt........what happens when a wolf shouts to all his friends " FULL MEAN FELLAS!!!".....are you a boy scout leader?..... just sayin ....

  • I paused as soon as i heard this just to say: I HAS TINFOIL

  • nice

    subd

  • super glue... to seal cuts? are you fucken serious

  • @LiquidDnb4Ever Uhm...Super glue has been used to seal chest and abdominal wounds in combat, as a part of emergency first aid. Cyanoacrylate glues have been approved by the FDA for use in human medicine (dermabond, liquid bandage, traumaseal) for well over a decade. The only reason regular super glue isn't used is because it has a tendency to irritate the skin. In an emergency situation, however, have at it. It can save lives.

  • wildernes...thats your backyard right?

  • KILL

    THAT

    MOSQUITO

  • super glue to heal your DEEP WOUNDS it sounded sooo funny

  • @hydrokyle1 does sound funny but i keep it in my first aid kit as well. it is also an improvised item used by armed forces to stop life threatening wounds quickly

  • this is a common sence kit. i read a survival checklist online that suggested crazy items like a chainsaw, bike, car battery....etc.

  • you shouldn't have the candle in your survival kit because the smell will attract animals

  • he sounds like corey frum pawnstars

  • If it doesnt have three uses its just dead weight and you need to find something better.

  • Ryan, could you do an updated video of your survival kit

  • ya dont use glue on wounds

  • couple things, overall decent kit only a few complaints. The army brainwashed me to call it 550 cord first off, second everyone says you need more stuff, not me, as you said it was a secondary kit I think you have too much. An altoids can can be big enough to accomodate the bare essentials. You don't need water purification tablets, fill that little bottle with bleach 2-4 drops per quart wait 1/2 an hour and you can purify alot more water than a few tablets.

  • where did you get the puch?

  • Only my opinion, and I understand that you can make cordage in the wild, but, if I am going to buy a kit with super glue and a battery, it needs to have a bit more cordage. Say, 50 feet?

  • @NdzDJ - No, he is planning correctly instead of worshipping primitive living personalities. Fire Bow is fine to learn but to think that you might fall into cold water and then come out dripping wet with hypothermia threatening and then you are either going to make the components or pull a fire bow and drill out of a pack is not simply ludicrous - it's stupid. Of course, Darwin, like The Grim Reaper, is always waiting to collect the ignorant and belligerent among us. - Don

  • your cocky

  • a needle is also very useful for digging out a splinter !

  • bro using super glue on a wound can cause death my friend broke her whole nail of and she got super glue and glued it back on after a phew hours she died of p toxic chemicals no joke

  • I always thought about this, but I never saw it on any video. Some type of infrared tape on top of a hat of some sort. If you're lost and the search & rescue team is looking for you at night(with Night Vision) you'll stick out like a sore thumb

  • I've watched a few of these types of vids and I've noticed where the fuck are the flares I know it's a small pack but come on common sense

  • Well done! All the bases covered.

  • i hate you

  • @TheSpeclord dang.

  • great kit you should ditch the black Whistler with the compass on it or relapse they other whistle and compass. And what if all the compasses say somthing diffrint which will you trust

  • great kit you should ditch the black Whistler with the compass on it or relapse they other whistle and compass.

  • Nice kit!

  • i'm not a survival but just from common sense you need canteen with aluminium cup, waterproof lighter, 3 thick trash bags, watercleaning tablets and a 6 inches or greater bladed knife which has serrations, fishing stuff, fluided compass and the most important is the knowledge of what is eatable. you dont need anything else

  • Guys like another Nutnfancy. "Don't suggest that I get anything different for my kit".

Wanna be know it alls are the first to go. Why not a hands free head lamp?

  • fire is totally overrated

  • I recommend you add a small personal poncho. Wrap your thermal blanket around yourself, then put the poncho on and you will have a warm dry personal shelter.

  • what was that sound at 3:39?

  • @stoneheadguy7 a fly

  • where's the bong?

  • LOL omg I have that same knife- I think I got it when I was 12

  • @ryanjcus: Hey thanks for the video. Your kit contains a lot more usefull tools compared to others here on Youtube.

  • string plus glow stick = RAVE PARTY

  • this pack Is for people who are not extreme bushcrafters, but hikers light backpackers, or your average Joe taking a stroll in the woods who may get lost one day. Thank you for this video...I am always finding new things or interesting ways ways to do stuff to build my skills as a young woman who wishes to live in the woods full time some day.

  • Hi ryanjcus - great videos, really enjoy them and have gathered much useful advice from them, wondering if you could look at my channel sometime and view the video on my Survival Kit - would appreciate the criticism and experienced advice on its contents

    Mr L.H.G

  • don't forget you can use that bandanna to blow your nose and wipe your ass to

  • yankeeprepper how many sn's do you have, i can tell by your hands it's you and of course your voice.

  • Hey, again. sorry for the double post, but I just got through rewatching the video again, and I noticed something. I know I am new to the survival thing and all, but I think you would benefit from having Glucose Tablets or Food Supplemental Tablets. I know you probably have some other backpack or something with food that you take, but I'm guessing this kit was made for a situation where you're separated from your main kit, and if you lose the food bag, you can just take the supplemental tablets.

  • Hey, GREAT video! It was very informative and interesting. Great kit btw. I am starting to make my own! I know what I need to get, but my main concern is something to hold it in. I have been very interested in the pouch you hold yours in, I have been watching this and other videos that have your kit numerous times looking for some sort of brand name on it, but I can't. Do you think you could tell us what brand it is?? Looking at other comments, I'm not the only one interested in the pouch.

  • nice video how much did you spend on the kit

  • I'm a big believer in using the Sterno fuel , i don't like the gas. Plus you can take some of the gel out of the Sterno fuel to start a wood fire if you had to. Have you ever tried those individual alcohol packs or hand wipes they make good fire starters to with just a spark. And i didn't know you had other video's. I wanna see you pull that little piece of duct tape apart. Forget the wire saw the folding saw is superior and quick. AND DON'T GET LOST lololol

  • @WaIkingthunder thank you for you advice on the alcohol wipes...you would think it common sense to know that(alcohol=flammable, wipe=cloth=tinder) but it never passed my mind as a fire helper! it would have helped a lot if I had known that a while ago...thank you again.

  • @WaIkingthunder Pay attention, Watch my other vids. Don't know what else to say

  • @ryanjcus well i like it

  • @ryanjcus

Dude your videos are awesome, I have seen almost all your major stuff, and I have to say they are one of the best series of videos I have seen on Youtube, One thing to say When SHTF you are ready

  • @CCRLover1 Thanks man, I appreciate it.

  • @ryanjcus *Fire is one of the most usefull thing* BULL it is THE most usefull lol it is light can cook food and make water save and smoke can get you found

  • @WaIkingthunder Please do us all a favor and don't comment unless you have a reason to.

  • @WaIkingthunder dude its sappost to be small not all out going into the woods prepared like he said its a last ditch effort

  • Awesome kit man. Mine is like the exact same. Only difference is I also keep some imodium and a doobie in mine =p

  • @WaIkingthunder Well your whole kid sounds good if your intention is getting lost -.-

  • @WaIkingthunder "A sharpening stone is useless to useless you know how to use it." ??? What the hell does that mean.

  • @WaIkingthunder didnt you listen that was his last resort why dont you listen. wow . and everything in there had a use unlike your mouth

  • @WaIkingthunder i feel sorry for you, as im sure many other people do

  • @WaIkingthunder and i'll bet your 72 hour pack probably weighs 80 pounds, you technology dependent youtroll.

  • Nice kit. Most people don't realise that superglue was originally invented as a field dressing.

  • does your knife say old timer on it, i have two of those

  • Great kit mate. Really interested in that pouch. Who supplies them? Would like to get myself 1 of those!

  • Nice kit you have put together....its too bad there are morons that make stupid comments but I guess thats ok cause most of them wouldnt know what to do with the stuff anyhow and would just be eliminated from the planet....which just makes a better place for everyone else that does survive...lol

  • weel equiped but some item is repeated in the kit.

  • nice

  • Where did you get the pouch? I have most of the same supplies, but trying to find pouches and containers.

  • dude wheres the tiny tv???

  • i think you need a small pen and paper, by the way really good kit

  • can you please list these items i would like to make my own kit thnks

  • sometimes its easier to just buy your survival kits from a store or online? lol i use oneupkits dot_ com

  • How many of you swatted your ear at 3:39 sub-consciously.......I swear I had a mosquito on me.

  • You got some nice videos check out some of mine you might learn a thing or two. The more you know the better prepared

  • add a subway gift card and ur pretty much set

  • For that size and weight I think that it is pretty much ideal and the perfect combination. I know that you have many more other items that you didn't add because I've been watching your other vids. With the proper skills and know-how this package will be more than enough. And to think of it on the positive side, now you tons of space left in your back pack to add other nice items.

  • mini bic..dominates the matches. quit being twitchy homes :p good kit though.

  • did you fart at 3:39 ?? ewww

  • @GiovanniObson you know... emergency fart

  • @GiovanniObson LOL funny, but its an insect flying by

  • @ryanjcus likely story ;)

  • @GiovanniObson I legit thought it was something behind me... :L

  • @GiovanniObson No, I think that was his whistle.

  • Add a mini bic light or two, and you can dump the matches.

  • you should add more fire stuff.

  • you should add more fire stuff.

  • really good kit !

  • i really cant figure out what the bandanna for ?

  • So much bullshit..

  • Yeah I totally want one of those bags.

  • Can anyone tell me what kind of pouch/bag that is?

  • Great vid Thanx..I carry many of the same things in my belt kit. I have a few snare wires also... They are guitar strings with the steel eyelet on one end. If you havent tried these, they work great and are very strong. Tell me what you think..

  • Is anyone making kits that don't include just 72 hour lost n found items? Not everyone wants to be found, but we want an advantage over Mother Nature when we are off grid. Most kits are whistles, lights, and signaling devices... maybe just a kit for those who aren't headed home after the weekend is done. It would be handy back up for a B.O.B.

  • very nice kit. almost exact to the same ive made for myself. one addition id add is a mini lighter. non traditional but extremely effective.

  • More fire stuff!! Fire is very inmorant

  • when you tell someone not to do something ( do not leave suggestions for my kit) they feel a duty to make as many suggestions as posible

  • Good wilderness kit. Just a few suggestions:

A better knife, one that can be used for batoning wood.

Instead of ziploc bags for water storage,, use a rolled up Platypus bag. Its the same size as a ziploc but has a cap and is much more durable than a ziploc.

Also, you might consider a pen style emergency flare.

  • what kind of pouch is that?

  • add a roll of DUCK TAPE into your kit! you can build and fix a lot of thing using just that!

  • Where did you get the large belt-pouch that all the items go into?

    Nice review BTW.

  • the sun rises in the east and sets in the west and moss grows on the north side of trees because its shadier good vid awsome

  • very nice small kit, good video. One item you might want to consider adding is a 3mil construction grade trash bag or two. They have many many uses rain poncho, clothing bag for river crossings, solar stills, rainproof shelter cover, rainwater catch bag etc. the list goes on and on. plus very little weight and space.

  • why candel? realy is kind of redudent. and if your looking for a bag, get a buttpack.

  • great kit

  • Could someone tell me where one could find that bag

  • Very good ideas!! Great!!!

  • good

  • Good Vid, however All u need is urself and a knife, when the sht hits the fan. good book to read, Tom Browns Wilderness Survival field book!

  • How would you survive int the city then go to the outdoors and try to do the same thing

  • Love the black bag. This is certainly an extended survival type kit and not just an overnighter. Good job and good thinkin'! Having the knowledge and know how will certainly save your life in the wilderness.

  • LOVE THE KIT AWESOME JOB SWEET !

  • Ok i just wanted to add another item... A condom as 1) you never know when you might get lucky ;) 2) They hold a fair bit of water. :D Oooh and finally you can use to make a catapult if that is how you spell it :)

  • Comment removed

  • I like your kit. Its basic and tactical great job!!

  • great job, very well organized, I will make up one like this for my hike next month, thanks!

  • 3:39 bee,.???????????????

  • I would put the spare battery in some sort of small tube so if it corrodes, it wouldn't harm any of the other equipment.

  • Ok, so no suggestions... I couldn't help but imagine, One high energy/calorie power bar would fit in there, and the reasons would be

    1. bait

    2. quick pick-me-up (Scenario: You lose ur food, you need fuel asap. Having it will give some comfort knowing you have something to eat in case snare-traps fail. Going to sleep on an empty stomach is mind-taxing and will leave you in a deplorable state. Gives you back energy from having made shelter , fire, and targeting water source.

    Nice kit.

  • i know you said no suggestions but, you need more than superglue for a small medical kit. I look around youtube at these videos to find was to improve my own kits. A medical kit is very important. I say you need to add some triple antibiotic ointment to this and some band-aids.

  • WHAT dont make sugestions about kit r u a fool or just arrogant? REMEMBER pride comes before a fall. people like u are scary coz u only tell half the story if thats all u know fine but youtubers b-ware PEACE & LOVE TO ALL
